This was our first time at the Royal Oak and the food was delicious. The portions were generous and service excellent. One mark was deducted though for not being allowed to mix starters and mains from the two types of menus... surely that would have been possible for an increased price?

Christmas decorations were up which gave it an atmospheric and cozy feeling. Warm welcome, excellent food and service, great food and value for money. Menu has varied choice with good veg options. Still a local pub where you can meet friends for a drink whether dining or not.

One of our party was gluten free and the waitress kindly checked with the chef about choices. The food was of restaurant quality and much enjoyed by all. Hearty portions and delicious. We will be back.
