Lovely pub and great food with a good menu, Highly recommend
The Royal Oak Staveley – HarrogateWe had lunch at the Royal Oak yesterday and both enjoyed the food (duck and a vegetable stroganoff). The service was friendly and professional, thank you
The Royal Oak Staveley – HarrogateGreat food. Lovely people. Good beers. Rustic charm. Well worth a visit
The Royal Oak Staveley – HarrogateFood- amazing. Our second visit- I had scampi and got loads! Everyone else had great portions. The only minus points were, both last time and this time, it took ages for them to clear our plates away, last time it wasn’t done until we left. Also, we had our dog with us and we love going to a dog friendly pub but again, last time and this time there was a dog at the bar barking a lot and I guess the owner is a regular or works there as there was no effort made to quiet it. All other dogs in bar, (at least 5) all beautifully behaved though.
The Empress – HarrogateEnjoyed a Sunday carvery with my partner recently. I have a Gluten allergy and the owners/staff went out of their way to ensure my dietary need were met, including gluten free gravy and cheese sauce. Fantastic meal . Fab friendly service. Will definitely be going back for the carvery on a regular basis. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Outside Inn – HarrogateGreat atmosphere and friendly waitress, good value for money. Will definitely be going there again
The Royal Oak Staveley – HarrogateI booked a table for 4 people on a very sunny, busy day but the service was still excellent. The Manager was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was truly outstanding, the steak pies were full of good quality steak and the mash was divine. The Hunters chicken was the best my husband has ever had. The ploughman’s was huge and very tasty. All the staff were efficient, friendly and polite apart from one man who served behind the bar. Sadly I didn’t get his name, he was maybe having a bad day but he was actually rude to many customers. Overall highly recommend and can’t wait to return!
The Worlds End – HarrogateEvery time we come down to visit my son in Harrogate we pay the Empress a visit. The food is the best home cooked roast I have tasted. Dog friendly too.
The Empress – HarrogateFood was average, wrong potatoes used for chips (probably the cheapest potatoes) and came out mahogany colour, fish very oily. Bar staff did not asked who was next so served people who came after us before us, it's nice to feel invisible. Won't return
The Worlds End – HarrogateHad an amazing meal food was lovely and omg the portion size was large what a lovely pub will defo be back
The Empress – HarrogateI had a fabulous birthday lunch yesterday. Excellent food service and wine 100% recommend The Inn at South Stainley Simon and the team were excellent Thank you
The Royal Oak Staveley – Harrogate6 of us came for food yesterday. Food was perfect ,no complaints at all, friendly staff ,lovely pub and Boris the dog kept the kids amused, a nice addition, I'm sure we will be back again soon .
The Empress – HarrogateAbsolutely superb food especially the home made chips.
The Worlds End – HarrogateLovely food & huge portions!
The Royal Oak Staveley – HarrogateMy husband had the Thai fishcake to start followed by the Steak pie which he enjoyed. I had the garlic chicken. I thought it lacked garlic and the spinach and potato it was placed on was rather burnt with an acrid taste, disappointing to say the least.
The Royal Oak Staveley – HarrogatePros- 6 of us had main meals here 1/6/24 3 had desert. All thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the portions were great and vfm was about average. Cons- a wedding was taking place so it was quite busy with people walking past us constantly setting up the buffet upstairs, the dj propped the door open while bringing in all her equipment which made 2 of our party quite cold, there was a dog in the bar which was fine apart from it barking a lot and no effort to move it or get it to quiet down. The worst thing was though, after we had all finished our meals our empty plates were not cleared for at least an hour, half were cleared when the deserts arrived and the rest only cleared when the desert dishes taken away.
The Empress – HarrogateGreat food, well cooked and generous portions. The calves liver was cooked to perfection and he steak and ale pie on top form as usual. We will no doubt be back over the summer when the next birthday is due
