Calm and friendly pub. The Sunday lunch, carvery style, very reasonably priced for the servings with an option of a few pounds extra for those with exceptional appetites.

Cedar Court Hotel – HarrogateBooked afternoon tea and the food & service was excellent and highly recommend.
Cedar Court Hotel – HarrogateStayed 2 nights 9& 10 August 2023. Room was good, but very hot as it was sunny. There was a fan in the room , but air conditioning would have been more effective. We had to take the quilt off the bed. The bath looked a little tired but the bathroom and the shower were fine. The toiletries were in a bottle at the sink and shower, but there was only hand and body wash, therefore I am glad I brought my own. We had a lovely view of the fountain and the hotel was ideal to walk into Harrogate. The parking was also included in with deal, which was one of the reasons I booked this hotel. The staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful. The reception staff were very helpful although I did not like the reception desk. The service in the dining room was good and the staff worked hard making sure people had tables and clearing the tables etc. I do not like the automatic 10% added to the bill for service. I prefer to decide if I want to leave a tip. The meal itself was enjoyable, I had chicken with garlic mushrooms but lacked vegetables. I would not say that fish and chips and burgers etc are an a la carte meal. There was lots of space inside the hotel to sit in the lounges, but not a lot outside. Overall we had an enjoyable two nights at the hotel. I would stay again if I came to Harrogate, as long as the deal was affordable enough. It was lovely to be able to walk into Harrogate it took around 15 minutes.

Cedar Court Hotel – HarrogateWe called in for Sunday Lunch on our way back from Darlington to Leeds and were delighted to discover a prober traditional pub serving good ale and home cooked food The roasts were of good quality and generous portions My wife raved about the bread and butter pudding whilst I had a well prepared Irish coffee Ambience was good, service attentive and reasonably priced We will return and would have no hesitation in recommending this as a great place to eat
The Royal Oak Staveley – HarrogateLovely food, beautiful setting, friendly staff
Cedar Court Hotel – HarrogateWe take my dad to the Empress when in Harrogate for the Sunday carvery, we were there on Sunday and as ever the food was great always a massive choice of meats, lovley large homemade yorkshire puds, plenty of roast potatoes and a massive selection of different veg to help your self to, hot tasty food and gravy, as much or as little as you want, great value for money we always leave happy and full, put this together with the service and great staff, can't recommend highly enough.
The Empress – HarrogateThe service was excellent, but unfortunately, the food was diabolical ! There were 8 of us having a family get together and in the newly refurbished premises, we were expecting great things. How wrong we were. The refurbished Empress is dark and dingy and not at all what we were expecting. Such a shame, as the it is a beautiful building in a lovely situation overlooking the Stray. The fish and chips were soggy and tasteless and the gammon and steak were like leather. Poor quality produce , cooked by somebody who hadn’t a clue what they were doing. The only saving grace was the service, which was excellent. I didn’t make a formal complaint, as It would have spoilt our evening out together. However, we will certainly not be returning or recommending this venue to anybody. Definitely a place to avoid!
The Empress – HarrogateGreat food, great service and a lovely venue
The Royal Oak Staveley – HarrogateCame here on the Friday and the food was so lovely we cancelled our booking for our Sat night restaurant and booked to come back here again. We saw lots of food come out, all looked great. My hubby decided on steak pie and I had the salmon for mains- calamari and black pudding tart for starters. It was really tasty, this is definitely a place we will travel to to eat. Great beers (Black sheep) very reasonably priced lovely wine. Great service. Come here if you are nearby
The Royal Oak Staveley – HarrogateMy mum and I came yesterday for afternoon tea and it was lovely. The ladies that served us were very friendly and helpful. Thank you.
Cedar Court Hotel – HarrogateWe arrived to be told that they had tried to call us to say that we couldn’t have our table as they were having a cheese and wine evening. We had to find somewhere else to eat.
The Royal Oak Staveley – HarrogateFood very good quality too much though. No need for two Yorkshire puddings! Young waitress very polite and efficient but the older lady had left her charm at home not rude just not pleasant.
