The White Owl – HeswallLovely meal last night at Gusto Heswall!
Gusto – HeswallWow. This shop sells tasty, fresh quality food. There fish is cooked to perfection and the chips are divine. Not many fish and chip shops selling cod haddock hake plaice or salmon locally. The shop is spotless and you can tell the staff enjoy working there. Happy staff happy customers
Pisces – HeswallAt Last...I can eat delicious food here...what a wonderful selection of Gluten free food. A first class place. I had three courses of beatiful made Gluten Free food..
Willow Tea House & Bistro – HeswallThe Jug and Bottle is a great looking pub inside. The exterior does not do it justice. It has lots of character and an upmarket feel. My lunchtime feed was excellent. Pity I was driving as I would have liked to have tried a real ale or two by their roaring fire.
Jug and Bottle – HeswallIn relation to your licensing which says no drinking outside there have been people outside drinking ( photographic evidence to support these claims ) also bouncers on the door may help your cause on a Friday night as I witnessed a fight and argument lasting over 30 mins on the front door spilling on to the street with no interaction from any security or staff!!!!!! I find this quite insulting after the letter you sent to local residents detailing the changes and safety measures you will be implementing. In summary can you please send an email explaining briefly how your plans in the letter are being executed ( which I feel they are not ) RegardsM Watson
Chambers Bar and Grill – HeswallWe had relatives over from Holland. We took them to Sheldrakes as a treat. It was a treat too. The food was fantastic, service was exceptional, and the views were brilliant. What more could you ask for. This was my fourth time at Sheldrakes, I would highly recommend it as an exceptional evening out. Well done. X
Sheldrakes – HeswallWent with a big group sat by the fire cosy and warm. All staff were attentive and professional, especially Morgan and Nicky. We all enjoyed our meals. I had steak which was delicious. Thank you
Devon Doorway – HeswallWe visited this beautiful restaurant on Sunday 15th of September with our eldest Son & his fiance, who were over to visit from Hong Kong & we were so impressed. The atmosphere was wonderful & the staff were so friendly, professional & attentive. The food was fantastic. The huge log fire was fabulous & added to the warm, beautiful atmosphere of this super establishment. We will certainly be returning & would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you to all at Sheldrakes !!
Sheldrakes – HeswallLate lunch 06.04.13. Food generally excellent, surroundings brilliant but service frightfully slow. However was shocked when my daughter pointed out a large black dead flie in the second set of bread and olives, my wife was nearly sick as she had eaten most of te first dish and much othe second. One staff member was very helpfull
Sheldrakes – HeswallI've just come back from my first trip to Sheldrakes. It is beautiful. The (all male) staff, dress immaculately, and are very attentive. We had the four course celebration menu, it was all great. Including drinks and a decent tip, we were £80 for a great meal and a great experience.
Sheldrakes – HeswallVisited Ambuja for the first time with my friends just recently and have to say it Definitly won't be my last visit. Decor is very stylish and modern, has to be the best looking restaurant I've been to so far and I have been to many! Waiters were very friendly and polite, didn't have to wait ages for my food. And when It did come it was just pure heaven, very tasty and the presentation excellent. Would recommend to anyone!
Ambuja Indian Brasserie – HeswallWe have just got back from a lovely evening at Sheldrakes, staff were superb - very attentive and efficient, and the food was delicious. We had the seafood platter, chateaubriand, assiette of desserts and a cheeseboard. Yummy. Great location, but not easy to find! Would reccomend.
Sheldrakes – HeswallAfter seeing the most recent review of Sheldrakes we were a little apprehensive about dining here. However, after spending a lovely afternoon I can honestly say that I've never had a meal so good! Sorry but I really don't agree with the comments from the last reveiwer. The food was fantastic, the staff were extremely professional and attentive and the whole experience was fantastic! A birthday treat that certainly delivered! I had the smoked salmon and lobster cake starter while my husband had the bass with rhubarb. For main course we had the turbot and the venison and I can honestly say that the turbot was the best I've ever eaten. These guys really know how to cook fish. This restaurant is a real gem of a place. You'd never find it if you didn't know it was there. Please make the effort to find it - it's really worth it!
Sheldrakes – Heswallif the pubs of Wirral were arranged in a football-like league table, The Anchor Inn would be in the top end of the premiership in gastronomic terms. Décor is rustic and reflects its semi-rural location. The pub is split into a dining area and a bar area and the dining section is usually busy. When asked, the serving staff invariably comment that "it's extra busy today" but it always seems to be busy and service is often "strained" as a result. The set menu is good value, but the more expensive a la carte menu provides better quality dishes. The wine list is OK, the variety of real ales on offer are well-kept.The Anchor is especially popular with over-fifties (including me) and is very very busy in the early evening. The "silver diners" start to disappear mid-evening and are replaced by a more youthful, but less numerous clientèle. Book a table later on for a quieter dining experience.
Anchor Inn – Heswallbeen coming here for over a year and it always keeps getting better, excellent food and service, great location and good value for money.
Britannia Spice – HeswallVisited last night,190812, whilst the location is stunning, the views of the setting son spectacular. Sadly the food was awful, waited 1hrs 30 mins from starter, when it finally arrived it was cold, badly presented and the paella, was more a like a mush of uncle Ben's quick cook rice. Gracefully the food was removed from the bill, but it will take a lot for me to re book a table, very disappointed. I had too ask twice to speak to manager, and eventually had to go to her. Sorry sheldrakes you let yourselves down badly
Sheldrakes – HeswallWhen the appetiser of Spanish olives arrived - covered with sweet chilli dipping sauce!!? - we should have realised this was a sign of things to come, and told the staff we had changed or minds. We didn't, and ordered 2 courses each from the lunch menu. The duck salad was drowned in gloopy hoi sin sause which surely must have been from a jar. The piri piri sauce wasn't at all hot, again clearly from a jar. The skinny fries were not cooked or seasoned nor was the home made coleslaw, which wasn't fresh - more chewy than crunchy. What can only be described as stainless steel dog bowls were provided to place the bones of diabetes inducing sweet but not sticky ribs in.Even though no one in our party ordered a single Italian dish, the waitresses attentively offered cracked black pepper with all dishes which we found both amusing and odd.Despite the terrible food and ill informed chef, service was excellent. If you're the kind of person who thinks olives go with sweet chilli dipping sauce, and you're willing to pay a chef who thinks along the same lines - this is the place for you.
