Zeera Tandoori – HeswallWent for a birthday treat for my wife and was extremely impressed. The food and service was excellent. The restaurant was understandably and deservably well patronised Will certainly visit again in the near future.
Lovely ambience and most staff very friendly - chatty without being intrusive - food lovely and well presented ......very pleasant place to spend an evening....
Devon Doorway – HeswallAbsolutely fantastic evening the owner made us feel so welcome and special. Thanks definitely see you again soon!!!
Khrua Thai Orchid – HeswallReally had a great evening coming back as soon as we can, this time with 3 grandsons and partners.
Khrua Thai Orchid – HeswallGood food, well cooked with fine ingredients probably the best meal i've eaten for a while (and i'm fussy!). the service was great and i felt unrushed so i could eat at my own pace. could not ask for better, i will be going back.
Marsh Cat Restaurant – HeswallI haven't eaten here for some time but have been several times in the last few months and been pleasantly surprised. its a lovely location, service was excellent and the standard of food is much improved with a good and affordable wine list.
Sheldrakes – HeswallStay away if you want good service and good food. This establishment has just been refurbished?????? and is now part of the sizzling pub company chain. Out of five visits, four have had appauling standard of food or service. The chain has obviously hired managers who cannot adequately manage the chefs/restaurant, chefs who are not adequately trained and staff who would benefit from customer care training. Come back Ember Inns !!!!
Acorn Hotel – HeswallAfter reading the previous reader recommendations of Sheldrakes I was taken there for an anniversary lunch. The location is really something to write home about but I was disappointed with the restaurant and the food itself. Call me picky but i don't like napkins that seem to have been used by at least one previous diner and the table was gouged like an old school desk. When you look around it needed a darn good clean and all the dead flowers and plants in broken containers on the patio did little to lift the spirits. The food was only ok - why advertise rustic chips when the were frozen rustic chips? The smelt like they had been dunked in very old oil. Couldnt fault the steak but a too liberal helping of mustard on the bread underneath almost killed the flavour. My partner fared a little better - still frozen chips but the fish was fresh and sweet. We opted not to have a sweet or coffee and found a little coffee house in Heswall instead - how disappointing.
Sheldrakes – HeswallWe worth a visit, but not on a Sunday for the carvery! The Chef is loud, scouse, full inappropriate comments, and his playful banter leaves you feeling uncomfortable to go up for more food. If that's not enough to stop you going on a Sunday, he doesn't use instruments to move the food around your plate, instead he pushes it around with his old hairy hands, most likely after just popping the loo to change his colostomy bag. Every other night of the week is very good though! View is unbelievable.
Sheldrakes – HeswallGusto in Heswall, is over priced twaddle. I remember when it took over from Est Est Est the hype among the locals, as we had a restaurant to cater for the elite Heswall and Caldy. Sadly it doesn't live up to its expectations. The staff are wonderful, and the setting memorable, but the food is very poor indeed, not even as good as the burger bar a few doors down. The male greeter who has glasses, has a "Christ almighty, not another customer, i may have to do some work..." look about him the second you walk trough the door. Food is full of garlic and badly seasoned... STAY AWAY
Gusto – HeswallRude waitress, when challenged on her lack of courtesy she said 'don't you start'. We wont be going back, there are plenty more places to spend our money.
Anchor Inn – HeswallBeen to this restaurant two times, both times were great. The food was gorgeous, especially one waiter. He was so nice to me and my friend. one of the waiters lukd quite grumpy but still he was lovely. would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Zeera Tandoori – HeswallDue to years of practice I would now consider myself to be a time served gastronome. Sheldrakes has been recommended to me on many occasions, by my fellow gastronomes, however, just never found time to venture over to 'the other side'. Can only say that I was far from disappointed, and it was well worth leaving my comfort zone for a few hours. The setting was stunning, literally on the shore, and once inside I was instantly struck by the warm welcome from the staff (lots of smiling). Service was great and the food was just delicious, with some really unusual flavour combinations. All in all it's a must for 'foodies'. Apparently they have a civil licence, so you can get married there too. Working on that one, watch this space :-)
Sheldrakes – Heswalli enjoyed my meal at chimneys excellent food service and good price.
Chimneys, The – HeswallI am really enjoy my meal out at this new restaurant :-) . Very classy, stylish, posh restaurant. Fantastic food and good service. Would like to recommend alive music some time.
Gusto – HeswallVisited here around 7pm on a sat night after a friend recommending after it recently being taken over.staff very friendly, great atmosphere in bar & lounge areas & very clean throughout. all the usual favourites on the menu as well as some dishes you wouldn't expect to find & great value too, stuffed peppers & angel noodles with chicken for £4.79 each were both delicious, and it makes a difference they taste fresh instead of the usual microwave standard meals! They have a grill night tues & sun roast which both seem good value for money - would go again without doubt
Three Stags Hotel – HeswallWe went on Sunday evening and the food was lovely. The staff were great with my daughter and it was a very pleasant way to spend my birthday
