Sokrates Taverna – HorwichAfter reading the recommendations of La Salsa thought I would give it try. On the evening of our visit a large party were also eating, i think they struggled to accommodate this ,as myself and my partner were left waiting . Having said this , they did redeem the slow service by the really fresh tasty food, the atmosphere was friendly, overall I would recommend a visit. If a Tapas takes your fancy give La Salsa a go. Lets support local small restaurants , rather than the mass produced versions claiming to be Tapas.
La Salsa – HorwichI too have visited la salsa on two occasions sine it opened ,like Jayne the first time we took ou own drinks, the service was excellent, i am going again On Friday 25 august with a few friends, and i have no doubt it will be just as excellent. It is much better than la tasca for us.
La Salsa – HorwichService could do with more "presence". but food was excellent and certainly a true taste of Spain - authentic tapas.
Viva Espana – Horwichi first visited la salas when it opened towards the end of 2006. we visited for a freinds 30th Birthday party and i was very impressed. the food was a lot better than la tasca and the portions were good value for money. i have been about 7 times since with groups of friends and with my partner and everyone has enjoyed it. they have now got a licence to sell alcohol so you can no longer take your own drinks. drinks prices are about the same as other restaurants. check before going as last time i visited they still didnt accept card payments. (cash only).
La Salsa – HorwichExcellent Oriental food, always feels a bit disorganised service wise, but don't let that stop you giving it a go! Hidden away on the busy Middlebrook Retail Park.
Abacus Restaurant – HorwichTend to go here after taking our children to the wacky warehouse next door, the food was lovely and good portion sizes, even get 2 for the price of 1 on selected meals. my biggest problem was with the high chairs, we took 4 children all needing high chairs and not one was clean, this was at 12 noon, so not peek rush time. the young girl who came to clean the chairs turned up with the disinfectant spray very quickly but used to duster she had been cleaning the bar with. I won't even mention the straps. There really isn't too much excuse for this, especially considering the kids seating areas are the bit that needs a little more attention than most areas. Other than that though, would advise it as the wacky warehouse bit next door has recently been refurbished and the staff I have come across are really friendly and helpful.
Beehive – HorwichFantastic food, good menu (also for my vegetarian wife). Lovely atmosphere, and very friendly service. All at a reasonable price.
Sokrates Taverna – HorwichFrom the moment you walk through the door at Leos, you are treated as a friend of the family, a warm welcome and excellent friendly service is always guaranteed. The food is superb, and as previously mentioned, the home made tiramisu is simply to die for. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the ingredients used are first class. A running joke in our household is that we can never go out to dinner without one of us having to send something back or finding something less than satisfactory, but not so at Leos. In the past few months we have visited on average once a week, and on each visit, the food, the service and the atmosphere has topped the scale.
Leo’s – HorwichLeo? restaurant is still the truly Italian around Bolton. After all these years, the standard of service and the food that you receive is better than ever. The new menu is full of meats and fish dishes and the staff will always try to sell you the best. Still a great experience. The tiramisu is something else.
Leo’s – HorwichAn amazing evening was had by all! We arrived as a party of 15 and were greeted with warm smiles and an even warmer atmosphere. The food was delicious and the level of service was outstanding. I left a hefty tip and i'd advice you to do the same!! A fantastic restaurant that i will be visiting time and time again in the future.
Pizza Hut – HorwichWent in with low expectations, but had a brilliant experience. Waitress - I think she was called Natalie - was attentive and very friendly. Your bill shows VAT separately as a VAT receipt but it IS DEFINITELY included in all the prices. Food was surprisingly tasty and well worth the value for money.
Pizza Hut – HorwichAlways a warm welcome here. Small and cosy, with a nice ambience. Chorizo sausage yum yum
Viva Espana – HorwichA very colourful, happy and relaxed evening. The menu is enticing and very competitively priced for the area...delicious, very authentic tasting food with oodles of garlic and chilli. superb service by very friendly and facetious waitress who was professional and thorough! Highly recommended!
Viva Espana – HorwichI am a lover of tapas and me and a friend came across this place a few months back. The food was fantastic, every dish was cooked to perfection and the service was excellent. I've been back several times since and have never been disappointed! I could recommend so many dishes but i'd be here all night. Go and try, it is superb!
La Salsa – HorwichWe have been here a few times and every time it has been an enjoyable experience. The food has been consistently good and the atmosphere is always lively. The staff are friendly and helpful. I'm sure we will be back again !
Leo’s – HorwichViva Espana is what I look for in a restaurant, small cosy and inviting. A wonderful little tapas bar serving authentic homemade Spanish cuisine served by Spanish staff. Javier, the owner, is a wonderful host, and the lovely chatty Friday night waitress both deserve a special mention. We have enjoyed everything on the menu and feel there is little that could improve the restaurant although a daily specials board would be most appreciated . Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone for a fantastic meal out.
Viva Espana – HorwichI came here when it first opened and it was quite good then. The food was average and the set menu was very limited. The atmosphere was good with two birthday parties. The staff need to be more aware what's going on as we were approached three times in five minutes asking if we wanted any drinks
