Brewers Fayre – HuddersfieldA group of 10 of us went to Solos for a mates birthday the food service & atmosphere was brilliant 5***** The meal deal they do for £12pp is excellent value for money. Would highly recommend.
Solos Tandoori Restaurant – HuddersfieldWent for First time to Discovery Bay. Excellent Service. The food was Delicious and plenty to choose from. A very good variety of drinks and cocktails. The Toilets were spotless and plenty lights. I would definitely go again so would my Husband and Daughter and our 16 year old Granddaughter. The staff were very pleasant and everything was clean and spotless/xxs. So glad we discovered Discovery Bay
Discovery Bay – HuddersfieldMy wife and I visited to redeem our Groupon voucher for an "afternoon cream tea" Booking was required; and was difficult to achieve. Having been given dates weeks away, when I phoned back, I was given dates, months away. I insisted that I already had available dates to consider and was booked in straight away. When we went, the place was almost empty: Our cream tea had no cream and looked nothing like the advertisement. The sandwiches were fresh and pleasant, the pieces of cake were no more than small bits of chocolate brownie or similar. Two desserts each in tall glasses; a chocolate mousse with bits of merengue and a so called trifle which comprised a bit of custard, very dry sponge and a couple of pieces of strawberry. A very disappointing experience. We will not go back.
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldWouldn't normally leave a review. However, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. Greasy, chewy fish didn't taste fresh, dry cold chips. Went there Saturday for the first time and you'd expect everything to be fresh on a busy day. Scruffy service, poor quality small fish, the peas were alright but I wasnt impressed ?
The Captains Table – HuddersfieldTerribly greasy food. This establishment has recently changed management but for the worse! Food was horrible, staff were horrible. Try the little gem up Hill Top.
The Captains Table – HuddersfieldHave visited many times for lunch, the menu and food has always been totally amazing. Visited today for breakfast. I'm really sorry to say this but today it felt like the Canteen had been taken over by children. (staff, not customers) After initial problems with drinks were resolved we then met problems with food. My friend ordered large breakfast and asked for poached eggs but they came fried. I ordered the poached eggs with bacon, hollandaise sauce and a muffin, I cut into the poached egg and a river of water was followed by a raw egg. I couldn't eat it. The young man who had served us came with a smile, oblivious to the uneaten meal and asked us if we had enjoyed it. I discretely explained why I hadn't eaten it and that I wouldn't be paying for it. On paying for our meal we found that just a pound had been taken off the price of the meal because of the raw egg. All very embarrassing. What has happened to the lovely Canteen? I'm afraid we won't be back.
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldDisappointingly average food and a tad expensive.
Volare Mediterranean Restaurant – HuddersfieldA nice warm service, very friendly and great food a reasonable price. Would call in again.
Foxglove Vintage Inn – HuddersfieldWe were regular customers until about 12 months ago. 9 months ago the restaurant started to go down the drain. The place was dirty, the carpet wad ingrained with bits of fat and chips and looked as if it had been swept for weeks. Someone had made an effort to clean the tables but still left salt and bits all over. What was cleaned off the table either went on to the chairs or the floor, and the room also looked as if it had not been cleaned for weeks. The staff on restaurant duty could not care less about the state of the room. Last but not least the FISH AND CHIPS were very good.
The Captains Table – HuddersfieldI was a costumer for several years, for professional reasons we have been away for 10 years. We just came back and it was one of the places we really wanted to see again. The disappointment was unbelievable. We are the couple who left the main corse on the table with a nearly full botle of wine, paid the bill and just walked away. Not only we will never go back, but also we will be advertisng how **** it was.
Great Western, The – HuddersfieldBeen here loads of times and loved it every time, never had a problem.
Yorkshire Rose – HuddersfieldExcellent home cooked fresh food, very reasonable prices, good selection of beers (free house). Kids menu good ( no chicken nuggets) and children are always welcome, lovely atmosphere.
