The Royal & Ancient Pub – HuddersfieldGo there occasionally for takeout sandwich as I work locally. Good food but was robbed last time of £6.70 for a ham salad sandwich and bacon/sausage sandwich. Captive work audience on their doorstep but way too pricey for takeout. Waitress didn't smile (never does). Rest of staff lovely though, and great decor and atmosphere if you're eating in.
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldVery glad we booked ahead as it got very busy, however the service didn't suffer at all - our food arrived promptly and was of top quality. I made the error of choosing a starter I'd never had before and didn't like it, and they took it off the bill, which I would never have asked for - hardly their fault! Dessert was especially good and worth going back for in itself.
Discovery Bay – HuddersfieldWe went to Da Sandro for my birthday last Saturday. Our meals were lovely I had pollo alla creama and it was really good loved it. I had the dime bar sweet also lovely it was a perfect birthday, thank you.
Da Sandro – HuddersfieldVisited today for first time after recommendation from a friend. We had a pleasant experience, food was tasty & hot, the only thing lacking was a bit of colour garnish on the paninis but otherwise food was well presented (love the "bucket" of chips!). Prices were reasonable, service friendly & efficient & we were offered hot water to top up the tea. The colourful, interesting decor gave a nice ambience. The cafe has full wheelchair access & disabled facilities & is now licensed. Don't go on a Monday however as they are not open! Will be back soon to check out the afternoon tea!
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldOur family eat here regularly and have done for a number of years, we have never been disapointed. The staff are absolutely fantastic and always go beyond the call to make us feel like extended family. I would recommend this restuarant to anybody without hesitation. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is perfect whatever the occasion.
Grappolo Restaurant – HuddersfieldWell worth a visit the antiques are fantastic.
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldTravelled from Manchester purely to visit Discovery Bay and it was a trip worth taking. We had booked into a hotel just round the corner so that we were in walking distance. The food, staff, ambience was fantastic. Will definitely be returning very very soon. You do need to book in advance as we witnessed a fair few people being turned away. Please please please open a restaurant up in Manchester.
Discovery Bay – HuddersfieldGreat selection of world beers, really nice food and the atmosphere is awesome all the time. The staff are friendly and know what they are doing which is a change compared to other bars.
Herbert’s Bar – Huddersfieldgood food and atmosphere, some great band nights with exceptional local talent!
Herbert’s Bar – Huddersfieldbeen few times and very happy with it.good food and helpful staff and great atmosphere.love to wonder round antiquey/shabby chic shop as well!!shame friday night not well supported but maybe not known yet definately recommend!!
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldFood always excellent, staff warm and friendly, good service, good pricing, job done. A big thank you to all at the canteen for making my many visits memorable.
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldMe and my wife visited the old canteen one Saturday morning and it was an experience to forget. We both had a chicken main and the food was a huge disappointment, both came undercooked and the veg was cold and the potatoes were black. When we complained we were made to feel so uncomfortable we just paid and left. I would not recommend this to anyone. Very expensive for low standard food
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldWe visited the Old Canteen over the bank holiday weekend. We were so very impressed with the afternoon tea, which was so reasonably priced. It was busy and the ambience was wonderful. The market place selling bric a brac is a real find.
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldNot been here before but we were very happy with what we had. The food was all very tasty and well priced. We found the staff friendly and attentive. It was about half full when we were there but I'm sure it gets very busy because of the value on offer, worth a try!
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldHad a very enjoyable evening here recently. Had the antipasto, a firm favorite, and the sausage pasta was very tasty!! Worth a visit!
Grappolo Restaurant – HuddersfieldBeen in twice and had the same drinks, been charged differently every time (never undercharged though obviously!) go to Revolution next door, while it is a rip off at least you don't spend your time working out who is ripping you off
