Beaumont Arms, The – Huddersfieldenjoyed a new year's day meal at Leeds road. lovely hard working staff, great meals, liked your decor. and your wall art.
Yorkshire Rose – HuddersfieldWell first of all i would like to pull up the staff on what they was wearing (jeans and T-Shirts) this is really unprofessional! i visited on a Sunday so had no choice but to have the carvery which wasn't really to my standards, the mash potato was lovely but the lamb and beef wasn't cooked very well, also the onions wasn't very tasty as they tasted of sugar and vinegar. However..... they have an old market place which i absolutely LOVE its brilliant and would definitely go there again but just not have anything to eat!
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldJust arrived home after a weekend in Marsden to visit my family. My stay at the New Inn was as good as I expected from Yorkshire folk, from the welcome to departure the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and cosy and the breakfast was excellent. Dinner there with the family was really good and the waiting staff could not have been more pleasant. They are a real asset to the team! A lovely experience which I am sure to repeat again soon and I will certainly recommend to all. Thank you everyone at the New Inn and keep up the good work! New Inn – HuddersfieldThe staff are very professional, helpful and well mannered. The surroundings and decor very pleasant ,and the food is always a delight to eat. I would recommend a visit to the restaurant and a browse in the well stocked shop anytime!!
Cook and Bakeware Company – HuddersfieldHave visited the Old Canteen on a number of occasions since it opened, especially for Sunday lunch. We have always been delighted with high standard of food and service until today(30th Oct.)Main course was very good but portion of roast beef was unusually meagre. Main complaint was with the vanilla slice which was hugely disappointing and looked like it came from a well known fast food outlet in town and was very sorry for itself.I did register my complaint as I left.
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldPossibly the worst Indian meal we have ever eaten this evening, £30 for a very poor substandard meal, dishes were flavourless and consequently all of my family I'll this evening with upset tummys.Avoid like the plague!
Solos Tandoori Restaurant – HuddersfieldThis is a seriously good restaurant which is beautifully set out. The food is of a very high standard and the service is fabulous.3 course Sunday lunch is £21 and is very good indeed with generous portions. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed. The A la Carte menu is just as good. Have eaten here many times and it's certainly my favourite by miles !!!
Farmers Boy Inn and Restaurant – HuddersfieldThis is a small family run restaurant with family links to the Royal Spice at Darton which was awarded the first ever 10/10 for alround food and service quality. What can we say but the palace Tandoori rivals the Royal Spice and has also been awarded a 10/10. Food excellent, service very good and very friendly. Bring your own booze keeps costs low. Booking is a must as it gets very busy - but is certainly worth a visit.
Palace Tandoori Restaurant and Takeaway – HuddersfieldCame across The Old Canteen by chance whilst house-hunting in the area. A real find! The ambience was excellent, the staff friendly and efficient and although we only had time for coffee (free refills available), the food looked excellent and the menu was varied and interesting. The Market Place is an inspired addition, great for unexpected finds. Highly recommended.
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldA really good find, brilliant coffee and Food, warm welcome and reasonable. Prices looking forward to trying their Sunday lunch They also have a very unusual market selling all sorts of interesting bric-a-brace and fashion etc Well worth a visit! Liz
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldHaving read the reports on Volare we decided to give it a go. The restaurant has a lovely cosy atmosphere and the service was good friendly and attentive. The menu is extensive with a full suite of Mediterranean options. We chose calamari but found them to be of the deep fried heavily battered variety and had been cooked before the fryer got to temperature resulting in a fat laden offering which was refunded when we were asked if it was good. We also chose the mussels - which were delicious but we had to request the crusty bread offered with it in the menu as this had been overlooked. For mains one went for pizza and the other went for salmon. The pizza was felt to have been the pre-frozen variety and had the soggiest of soggy bottoms and little taste - the salmon however was superb. Overall the meal was disappointing and this might well be the result of having too large a range of options on the menu resulting in the use of many pre prepared meals. £46 for 2 people seemed a lot ( including £14.00 for a bottle of wine) however if the food had been up to scratch this would have been OK. Shame really - the restaurant has many redeeming features but we doubt if we will take the lotters of it's food quality again by returning.
Volare Mediterranean Restaurant – Huddersfieldi recommend that people visit the mandarin as the food is very nice the staff are welcoming i love going there
Mandarin Chinese Restaurant – HuddersfieldBeen to quiet a few of Italian restaurants in west Yorkshire recently and this is the best. The food was fantastic and we didn't have to wait long.Lovely atmosphere, great keyboard player playing background music and the staff were so nice and efficient. We visited because we bought a voucher from pulse radio offering a £40 meal for £20, but we will now definitely visit again.
Grappolo Restaurant – HuddersfieldBest Fish & Chip shop i have ever been to! Top quality fish & chips at low prices. Delicious, fresh and mouthwatering!
Fish King – HuddersfieldI have visited The Old Canteen on many occasions. It is a wonderful place to sit and have a coffee and also for Sunday lunch. There is also a market place where you can obtain the latest Superdry tee shirts. Its heaven!
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldVisited on three occasions - very impressed with food, friendliness and surroundings. V busy purely from word of mouth - service slightly slow as think their immediate popularity took them by surprise. No longer open Mon. Not licenced but welcome to bring your own! Super antique type 'market place' in adjacent room selling furniture, bric a brac, cosmetics, garden items, some clothing, hair & make up products and shoes, bags & boots - all at great prices and nicely laid out. Looking forward to going to the tapas eve with a dozen friends on Aug 5! Paninis highly recommended as is Sunday lunch and desserts excellent.
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldVery disappointing!! We booked our table for 7pm, we eventually sat down at the table for 8. The food was bland and over cooked... had to send a meal back. The staff are very young and do not know what they are doing - had to ask for cutlery. Then they over charged us by £15. Would not recommend and will certainly not be going back!!
The Glendale @ Bagden Hall – Huddersfield
