Our second visit to the aegean in hull the first time was at their previous location where we had an excellent experience and a great meal . We are not from Hull but visiting for a couple of nights and sought out the aegean again at their new location booked in for 7.30 on sat 5th june We arrived at 7.25 5 min early to be told there where no tables available and we would have to wait at the bar which we accepted and ordered a drink we were shortly joined by other couples who also had to wait for a table . Shortly after 8 pm we were seated and i thought things were looking up,however it took another half hour for our order to be taken and told we would have to order our drinks from another waiter this took a further 20 min Now we come to what annoyed us most a group of 4 younger people were waiting at the bar for their table at this time another party arrived and started creating a fuss at the door as like everyone else no table was available they were taken straight to a table with the youngsters left at the bar to me they were taken advantage of because of there age , why should those who shout loudest get their own way. Throughout the evening all the staff were extremely polite and obviously working under great pressure they had been seriously overbooked a couple of explanation were given but it was still very frustrating Once again the food was excellent and we would visit again we eventually left at 10.30 over 2 hours after we arrived please sort your booking procedures out everything else was great
The Aegean Taverna – HullGreat to be back at the Aegean the food was great and the service good we loved the new surroundings too can’t wait to return
The Aegean Taverna – HullSecond time I’ve been within two weeks. Both occasions I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Sitting outside on a warm day with the Greek music in the background gave me the full Greek experience, the ambiance in the place is spot on as is the food, cannot fault the meals at all. Only minor thing is (and it is minor) service seemed a little slow on both occasions; considering the restaurant wasn’t too busy but have to add, the guys were both extremely pleasant and helpful and I put this down to them not wanting to rush your experience!!
The Aegean Taverna – HullCool place nice atmosphere good food.
The Aegean Taverna – HullThis was our second visit. The food again was excellent. Look forward to many more evenings.
The Aegean Taverna – HullAmazing service Food beautiful Relaxing atmosphere Will be booking again soon !!!!!
The Aegean Taverna – HullLove it. The new location is so much better! The place looks amazing and it's the same great food as before! Couldn't fault anything, can't wait to go back!
The Aegean Taverna – HullAbsolutely love the Agean and its new location on Newland Avenue. The owner and staff are so lovely, the food is wonderful and the restaurant has a really comfortable, welcoming feel. We took our family and three year old granddaughter and enjoyed the meze (which is the best way to eat greek food). Do not miss out on a great evening, we shall be back soon
The Aegean Taverna – HullGreat place to eat in lively atmosphere. Food is plentiful and very tasty with the menu offering a large range. It does get busy and we were given an allotted time period which I personally didn’t like and we would have stayed longer to drink if we had been allowed.
The Aegean Taverna – HullFood was lovely and very generously portioned. The service however was sadly lacking. We had to ask to place our order and then before we'd even been asked if we wanted to order dessert we were told that our table was needed soon as the staff had taken on an extra booking "you know how it is", we had only been sat at the table an hour and a half and the first 30 minutes of that was waiting for someone to take our order. If the idea of the location move was to gain from passing footfall then the staff are going to need to up their game when dealing with extra customers. As an aside, the ladies toilet area could also do with some further attention as well as the covid safety precautions (QR scanner not working on arrival and staff wearing masks purely to keep their chins warm).
The Aegean Taverna – HullFirst time visit to this restaurant as a birthday celebration for my son. It was a Wednesday evening and although the food was very good there was obviously an issue with the number of staff on duty. There was one waiter who was only allowed to take drinks orders (arrived at 7pm and had to wait 20 mins to order drinks) and did not even know what type of wine the house wine was. The other waiter was taking food orders and preparing the drinks behind the bar. We waited 40 mins before we ordered our food and that was only after I went to the bar to complain. To be fair the waiter did apologise and the food we ordered came out very quickly and was tasty. Also disappointing that they did not have ANY desserts despite a reasonable selection on the menu. If we had not been out for a special occasion we would have walked out after 30 mins. I acknowledge that the restaurant was very busy they needed more service staff.
The Aegean Taverna – HullExcellent food, courteous and friendly staff, very efficient service. Lovely surroundings. Will definitely be visiting again
The Aegean Taverna – HullThe food was great as always. Sadly moving from Anlaby road and staff changes has had a detrimental effect on the atmosphere and customer service. I no longer felt it had that traditional Greek family friendly atmosphere. Waiters were polite but not friendly. And on numerous occasions we were left trying to catch someone's attention to order drinks and food. Very sad really
The Aegean Taverna – HullWent for a meal, me and my husband when visiting our son. Great value, they had the meat platter and i had the large Greek salad. Amazing, very tasty and large portions. They even made me a Brandy Sour, a drink i use to drink when I lived in Cyprus. Lovely sunny day, doors open and great atmosphere. Top service.
The Aegean Taverna – HullFood is second to none, new location but same great tasting food. The new restaurant is in a great location and is beautifully decorated, felt very authentic and greek (if only). Cannot wait to return.
The Aegean Taverna – HullVisited the brand new venue on Newland Avenue just after opening. Very bright and well decorated. We had great advice on food and went for the full Meze! Make sure you're hungry as the food just keeps on coming!! Amazing food and service we'll be back for sure
