A lovely pub - would recommend to all.
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonThoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch. All the food was nicely presented and very tasty. The staff were polite, friendly and efficient .
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonHaving first eaten at The Pheasant in 1985 for my 21st birthday celebration - we have visited many many times! And, of course, we have seen it go through various incarnations. I am delighted to say The Pheasant is back well and truly - and to us, over and above it's former glory. Having eaten there on Friday evening after a huge gap (for obvious reasons) it was absolutely wonderful. The patio area at the back is both new and superb. The interior is modern and perfect. All this would be meaningless if the food and service was not up to scratch! It of course was! 100% brilliant. Congratulations to Martin and Zoe - cracking job. We look forward to many more visits and fantastic food and service. :-)
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonSooooooo lovely to have our wonderful pub open again with such lovely people running it . It’s so nice to have affordable and delicious food .
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonIt was the best meal we have had in a long time. All 4 of us will definitely be going back, the staff were very happy and nothing was to much trouble. We have got to try there Sunday lunch. Wish we had a superb restaurant like this in Kimbolton.
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonSunday Lunch on August 22nd, excellent three course lunch, great value and very pleasant staff. Not a big criticism but some half bottle offerings on the wine list would please me.
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonAttentive staff catering for my requirements when eating with friends - very welcoming and the food was excellent
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonGreat food , especially the starter and dessert, the roast potatoes could do with a little work, for me - they should be parboiled with a crispy outer shell & a fluffy middle. The wine was great at a sensible price and the young waiting staff where efficient, attentive. It's a lovely setting and I would highly recommend, we'll be back soon. thanks
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonThanks to Martin for taking the time to talk to me today. The food was superb and good wine list. It was a special evening for us which I shared with Martin. We look forward to returning very soon! Thank you to all the junior staff too!

The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonExcellent food, really well cooked - and reasonabel value for money, though not much choice for a vegetarian. The service was good - no problems there - and the range of beer was first class. Only one gripe - the handling of intolerances and allergies. We made these clear on our booking, but they weren't communicated to the serving staff. There were few of the usual notes on the menu (just V for vegetarian), no gluten free bread and the alternative sauce for the one I couldn't eat was not discussed, just presented. Overall - very good.
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonHave been going to the Pheasant for 2 decades and this iteration is very promising - lovely service even when the coffees were a little cold ( all sorted ) and menu was broad . Interior is fresh but could benefit from some accessories
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonGood food nicely presented and served

Going back next Sunday with friends …..
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonA little underwhelmed with the standard of the food. I ordered the roast beef Sunday lunch - no flavour to the beef (soooo thinly sliced!) and not enough of it, roast potatoes were borderline undercooked and red-cabbage consumed the plate. Broccoli was the best part of the dish. Other's with me ordered the lamb roast with exactly the same comments. I will go again but will steer clear of the roast dinner.
The Pheasant at Keyston – HuntingdonWe have waited eagerly for The Pheasant to reopen. In fact the times we tried to book sooner, were all thwarted. We had been told that it was now pricey. Yes, depending on what you choose, it could be for a country pub. But the hospitality industry has been hard hit and many have put their prices up. We chose, initially from the set Lunchtime menu and interestingly, all of us went for the delicious and delicately cooked plaice, which came with a lightly spiced mussel cream sauce. One of our party asked for “no mussel sauce”. That was no problem and the fish and portion sizes were perfect for lunch. Vegetables included samphire, sprouting broccoli, cabbage and Jersey Royals, all cooked perfectly. I had my starter (breaded Brie with cranberry sauce) as my dessert course. Not a huge success as the Brie was lacking flavour. My fellow diners chose from the a la Carte with Lavender Panacotta and White Chocolate and Raspberry mousse, which made very little difference to the final bill and we’re really enjoyable. Service was excellent and although our bill indicated that Zoe was our server, all the staff take an interest in seeing that you are satisfied and not in need of anything. Well done to this young team! We checked out the dishes being brought out to our fellow diners. They all looked very good and I only employ plates seemed to go back to the kitchen. Next time we will sample the wine menu. Estrella lager is OK but there are more interestingly flavoured and better ones to choose. The interior has been spruced up and it feels lighter, very welcoming and more comfortable, although the dining chairs are very heavy! Outside is their garden dining area, which looks good, but we would have expected open sided gazebos, especially as it started raining during lunch. We’re glad we chose to eat indoors. How lucky are we to have The Pheasant within easy reach? Especially as Kimbolton’s offerings are so depleted. We will be back! Well worth a visit!
