Fishermans Lodge – Jesmondhard to fault
Cafe Zonzo – JesmondWhen I moved house I've got to say I was having serious withdrawal symptoms from my usual Friday night Chinese, but since I discovered Eastern Meadow... I would recommend the deep fried crispy beef and if you're sharing the 1/4 duck is the ideal accompaniment. The portions are more than adequate - in fact it takes care of breakfast the morning after. Yes, its a little more expensive but its well worth it and the guy who takes the orders is great - you just want to take him home!!! Plus, if you're extra nice to him (or spend more than £15) you get free prawn crackers and sometimes he chucks in a fortune cookie or two for good measure. So if you're feel hungry and can't be bothered to cook or want to satisfy your taste buds just call in to see our Chinese friend (that? if I haven? taken him home) or give him a ring as they do deliveries aswell. Enjoy!!!
Eastern Meadow – JesmondA great, lively pub with better than most food for choice and quality. Drinks are reasonable, atmosphere is good with pool tables and juke box. Can be chocka but all in all, a good egg.
Hancock The – JesmondThis takeaway is in High Heaton I know the number off my head (I don? even know my wife? number) I go there all the time the food is of very high quality and quantity, they are not tight! they are averaged priced, compared to some other places and i would highly recommend them!
Newton Tandoori – JesmondBest 'cheap' restaurant in Newcastle. Value for money is second to none, try it out and see for yourself!
Sale Pepe – JesmondThis is an excellent takeaway. Food is always first class - service very quick and friendly. Highly recommend.
Newton Chop Suey House – Jesmondnice restaurant good food very clean will be back
Scalinis – Jesmonda very nice little restaurant
Avanti – JesmondMy wife and I often go to this wonderful restaurant. We love the food and the ambience is -Happy Italy! - style. We recommend it to everybody.
Avanti – JesmondHighly recommended
Scalinis – JesmondI loved the Fishermans Lodge so much so that we picked it as the place to marry and held our reception there. The food is out of this world, service brilliant and I have never had a disappointing meal yet. It is expensive but the quality of food justifies the price. I can't wait to go back!!
Fishermans Lodge – JesmondService, price and standard of food was excellent. Will certainly go back.
Newton Park The – JesmondDaniela's is a deli first and a cafe second, but easily the best deli in Newcastle by some distance. The staff are always very friendly and will often have tempting bites on the counter for customers to sample and usually be hooked. Great for a wide range of cheeses, olives, prepared dinners. For sitting outside try their Italian ice cream, brilliant.
Daniela – JesmondProbably the best Italian of I've experienced in Newcastle, with a nice ambience. The food is excellent, not the usual rubbish you get in many Italian restaurants, but real tasty high quality food. The place seemed to be full with everyone enjoying themselves.
Cafe Zonzo – JesmondI was really pleased with the setting, as a restaurant in a railway carriage seems a bit strange at first, but the service was exquisite and the layout was really nice. I have to say that the food was amazing, i'm a student and i didn't think it was too pricey. They also do takeaway's at a reduced price which i would seriously consider.
Valley Junction 397 – JesmondWhat can I say, its full of youth. Its doesn't do anything particularly well or bad, buts if its your local, it does everything adequately. That and also the fact that the amount of youngsters makes you feel a little bit old if your over 22. The fact that I'm pushing on 50 makes me stand out a bit.
Bar At The Brandling The – JesmondAnother moderately good restaurant. Worth booking a table on busy nights though. Does a good Sunday lunch too.
Scalinis – Jesmond2 burgers and fries for £15.
Unlimited Nachos and a pint for £12.
Steak Frites for £13.
2 bruuch dishes for £15.
20% off food with a student ID. Available 5pm-9pm,Sunday to Thursday.
