Disappointing. Waited over 45 minutes to order despite asking a few times. Starter came but mains never arrived. Was told after 90 mins that we would need to change the order due to ovens being broken. Communication could have been better throughout as we spent long periods unsure of what was happening. Food was okay. Starter was kindly knocked off the bill for the inconvenience. Unfortunately we were unable to finish our meal here and left to go elsewhere.

Avanti – JesmondLovely neighbourhood restaurant we found whilst visiting our daughter at University. There is a very pretty outdoor seating terrace. Open late on a Sunday which suited us perfectly. Lovely home-cooked food and very generous portions at a great price. The staff are so sweet and pleasant. A great find - will definitely be back next time we are in Newcastle.

We needn’t have worried as the food, service and staff were all excellent! We may even go back before next Christmas. Thanks you for a lovely evening and delicious food
Avanti – JesmondReally disappointing. Half the cocktails unavailable as it was Sunday and they were out of gin. Rocket and Parmesan salad was a handful of rocket with a tub of processed grated Parmesan dumped on the top. Spaghetti salmone contained huge chunks of lemon slices …complete with rind. Told it was part of the dish despite no mention of it on menu. Very little salmon. Finished off with two weak warm limoncello.

Avanti – JesmondBooked this early (5pm) and were the first diners in. Very attentive staff and quickly set us up with drinks and antipasti for the table. The starter had a bit more than I usually expect (always a good thing) and all three of us enjoyed them massively as we did with our main meals. Only come to Newcastle as a yearly visit but will come back to this lovely little restaurant.
