If you like curry made from a jar this is the place for you ,why not use fresh chicken instead of reconstructed chicken. I feel cheated will never recommend this phoney curry house to anyone.

Daraz – JesmondWow just got back from tour, thought id visit the old tandoori! After reading these reviews, I can only say the only outdated things is the reviews! The place is not as described, it looks fantastic like it always should of done, new member of staff now running the place, I think he was one of the original lads who worked there a few years ago, food was mind blowing! Out of this world fantastic! Definitely better than I remembered it last time (and food was always good), atmosphere was quite good havn't seen the tandoori that busy in years, so this new staff or manager must be doing things right a thumbs up for Newton Tandoori. I would definitely recommend them to anyone! A firm favourite for many years, food was always good and decor completely new (looks better than most now), City Council Food Standards Agency 5 stars signed and displayed on building, so I have only praises for them!
Newton Tandoori – JesmondExciting menu, friendly staff who are attentive without being over bothersome and delicious food. I will revisit in the hope that standards maintained - they can often slip with new ventures after a few months of opening.
Peace and Loaf – JesmondHave used this takeaway for 20 odd years and have seen many many changes in ownership. It is nowhere near as good as it used to be, and often goes through phases where the food varies from very poor to excellent, at this present moment in time they are bordering on excellent, although my crispy beef with ok sauce is never as crispy as it could be, but I am forever the optimist that it'll happen.
Acorn Chop Suey House – JesmondMy friends and I spent £24.75 in total , however as the establishment does not accept card, we split the bill separately. The takeaway agent rudely announced that because if this we didn't qualify for complimentary prawn crackers. We protested that we were together however were accused of forming a cartel to trick the venue into giving us free prawn crackers. This left us paying 1.50, which allthough is a small amount, the result has been to leave me feeling very let down by a venue i used to trust, i am dissapointed and will NEVER attend this venue. Th customer service is appauling and the rudest I have ever experienced! DO NOT EAT HERE!
Acorn Chop Suey House – JesmondIt is a great restaurant, great food, great staff... I will recommend it to everyone. Thanks
Pizzeria Francesca – JesmondUsed this takeaway on and off over the last couple of years. Fairly decent food. Went in recently to order some crispy beef noodles, went home and when opening it found there were no noodles. Took it back and told the man at the counter what the problem was. He blamed me for not giving him clear instructions and he didn't know his own menu. He asked for the extra money for the noodles which I refused as it was his fault for getting the order wrong. It is normal custom to offer the customer the correct meal in circumstances like this. He then told me to t*** off and gave me my money back. Never returning, doesn't matter if the food is decent if customers are treated like that then they don't deserve custom.
Acorn Chop Suey House – JesmondFood is absolutely brilliant. Been there loads of times in small and larger groups and always have a lovely meal. Good value for money also.
Pizzeria Francesca – JesmondBeen twice over Christmas, once with work party then took family as I was so impressed. Food fantastic, service brilliant, portion size huge! No booking in advance facility unless you are a large party, so get there early, I waited 1 hour to get a table - would wait again without hesitation - cant wait to go again! Keep up the fantastic work - well done.
Pizzeria Francesca – JesmondTaste amazing
Pizzeria Francesca – JesmondI have been a loyal customer of francesca's for 20 years since I lived in jesmond, not only is it the best Italian in the north east it might well be the best in the UK. it has unbeatable value for money.
Pizzeria Francesca – Jesmondthis restaurant is THE worst place to eat in Jesmond. In fact, a sandwich from Tesco near by is better option then anything in there! Food comes in late, is over cooked, nothing on a menu is gluten free (so a great news for coeliacs) and overpriced! Don't go there, unless you can spend 100 pounds on wine to stop your taste buds working!
Scalinis – JesmondI have eaten here since it was first opened, and when Antonio had his first restaurant in High bridge and you had to take your own wine because he didn't have a licence. Francesca was a twinkle in her Mam and Dads eye !! Best restaurant in the area
Pizzeria Francesca – JesmondHad an amazing birthday meal there. Food was delicious, staff were friendly and the place has a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it to anyone! Thanks Ru!
Quattro Bar – JesmondFrancessca's is a fabulous authentic Italian, which offers such an extensive menu choices for a very reasonable price! It provides a happy hour which can be very popular so booking in advance for big parties during peak times is advisable. A friend had their birthday party there and I can admit not one of us was disappointed with the service, quality of food or atmosphere. I would recommend to any in the local area and can guarantee I will be back again.
Pizzeria Francesca – JesmondAmazing restaurant , fab food , really rustic scene and feel, great atmosphere and big portions , I'm always asking for mine to go , amazing pizzas , would never eat anywhere else and i live 30 miles away , i love eating there and the waiters and food is super , sometimes you have to wait a hour or less , but its well worth it, after all francesscas is affordable , good tasting , italian food which is of a high standard, i wish them luck
Pizzeria Francesca – JesmondOn Saturday lunchtime I popped into Bruges for a quick lunch with my sister. The weather was fine so we chose to sit outside which was a very pleasant. I had the prawn ans crayfish salad with lime mayonnaise and my sister had tuna nicose - both were absolutely delicious. With drinks the total bill came to £20. great value for money.
Bruges – JesmondA lovely friendly atmosphere with reasonably priced delicious food. By far the best soup I have ever tasted. Enjoyed the experience so much I'm returning within five days with a friend making a return visit to Newcastle after 30 years.
