Cheap yes, but the food was awful. I had the Carbonara, it was all pasta, very little microwaved bacon and a separating ridiculously fatty sauce My partners pizza was dry and distinctly lacking in chicken. The service was good.

Sale Pepe – JesmondWent to Bruges Restaurant in April 2008 and enjoyed really good food. It's a tiny place, so not suitable for a big party, but really nice for 2 or 4 at a table. The prawn and crayfish salad did have only about 3 crayfish init (!) but was very succulent. Hubby had mussels, which were as good as the Big Mussel in town.
Bruges – Jesmondlovely clean and friendly environment. food excellent. 10/10. diane.
Daraz – JesmondWith out doubt bruge restaurant in jesmond in newcastle is one of the best value and fantastic little places to eat. We live in Washington about 10miles from this restaurant and we have eat at bruges every 3 weeks it is so so good , When ever we have friends come and visit this is with out doubt our favourite places to take them for food. The restaurant has a great cosy feel but also the buzz of a great place to be , with excellent waiting staff and a great chef it is with out doubt the best value for money for a great meal and great night out . Oh one more thing i have to say is the friends who live locally that we have taken to bruges now take there friends there to what more can be said from colin elrick
Bruges – JesmondBeen going to Francesca's for over 15 years now and will be hopefully for another 15+ years! The food is great and portions are very generous to say the least! The staff are friendly and great with kids. Only downside is how busy it is at peak times. Best time to eat without having to wait is bang on 12.00 lunchtime or 5.00pm. Friday and Saturday nights are very very busy and you can expect to wait at least an hour - but with a glass of wine (or a few) and some good chat the time soon flies by! I live 15 miles from the restaurant and still I eat there with my family at least 2 or 3 times a month and can highly recommend the place 100%!!!
Pizzeria Francesca – JesmondA nicely small restaurant, means your food arrives on your table hot, rather than sitting under heat lamps for ages and arriving tepid, as it does so often in big places. We've been twice, it is always booked up, and has a nice atmosphere, they are not trying too hard! We like it here!
Bruges – JesmondFood is not very good, the chef complicates every dish and tends to spoil it. The bar however is modern and relaxed.More student orientated for younger people but still a pleasent atmosphere and great value for drinks.
Bar At The Brandling The – JesmondHave been going to Francescas since francesca was born it is very authentic but Toni is a miss. The food is the best and very good value the staff are great and mostly authentic Italians with style and personality Soprattutto Francesca era squisito/a I Think
Pizzeria Francesca – JesmondNot what i expected really gone downhill!
Scalinis – JesmondGood range of beers. Good night out.
Bruges – Jesmondwent with gf and other couple. food portions were impressive but Id rather pay more money for less food if it has quality. The food was average and thats only because I was in a good mood when I went there. Ive been to worse Italian restaurants for sure, but Ive also been to much better ones in the Newcastle area
Pizzeria Francesca – JesmondSix of us went on a Saturday night. We began with a drink at the welcoming bar, before being shown to our large table by the maitre d. The atmosphere was superb, with a jazz group fronted by an attractive female singer entertaining us throughout the evening. This restaurant is new, but feels warm and inviting. Our food was good especially the mezze starter, but the atmosphere, service and jazz would have made the visit worthwhile anyway. Our attentive Polish waitress was tireless and patient, which we remembered when the tips were calculated! Considering how many bottles of wine we consumed the bill wasn't bad. We'll definitely visit again - we were told by another party that the Sunday lunch was worth the trip.
As You Like It – JesmondI was in Newcastle for just one night and ate at Scalinis with a mate. If I didn't live 250 miles away I would be eating there every week! Excellent in every respect.
Scalinis – JesmondIT WAS GOOD FOOD BUT POOR PORTION SIZES
