Mio Gusto – KeighleyI had a fantastic meal today with my family, good priced good food and good service, every one is friendly and happy so makes you at ease, good menu verity very good ,reasonable priced is excellent, i would recommend this place to any one and every one.
Flappit Springs – KeighleyLet's hope the new place in Silsden is better than the cramped bunfight that Stefano's has become! Is it any wonder Keighley/Silsden don't get any mentions in the 2010 Good Food Guide? On a very recent visit our starter arrived before we'd finished the customary gratis pizza, the starters arrived at staggered intervals, why do they insist on an "is everything all right" during, after, then several times at the end of the meal? We must have had 10-12 in total... smacks of a) wanting praise or b) insecurity, or most likely a combination of both. The food on the whole is excellent and plentiful, though why they insist in smothering the star of the show, be it fish, veal, steak, whatever in lashings of sauce is beyond comprehension. Also why serve that pathetic little side salad on a steaming hot plate when they've already asked if you'd like salad or veg? Stefano's is about as far away from fine dining as you can get with cramped tables, surroundings, helpings, in your face staff and the aforesaid mentioned takeaway collections. But if you want a free for all bun fight, fine, get stuck in... it's as rustic and as chaotic as they come, but for better value and the same atmosphere head down to the Carvary at The Beeches for a fiver! For a more discerning diner you need to cast your net a little wider... and believe me, there's plenty better, and not too far away either!
Stefanos – KeighleyHmmm! No..It didn't work! Vegetables at extra cost, no bread or rolls. Were not told the lamb was off (maybe should have been informed when we were handed the menus, not after we'd studied them for 15 minutes). Were seated 40 minutes after we arrived, and left to sit at the bar on a leather couch which I kept sliding off. If we'd wanted to sit in a bar...we'd have gone to a ...BAR!
Embers of Haworth – KeighleyGot a takeaway from this restaurant whilst on a short break in the Dales, on the basis of all the awards it states it has won in the last two years. Was very disappointed with the standard of the food when we got back to our accommodation, it tasted insipid and looked like it was made using leftovers, perhaps the award winning chefs don't do takeaways early evening midweek. Was too far to take back and complain, if served with this as an eat in meal, I would have sent it back. Perhaps just an off night, but with the reputation for good Indian food in the Yorkshire area (I have had good meals elsewhere), this was mighty disappointing.
Shimla Spice Restaurant – KeighleyThis is undoubtedly the best Italian restaurant this side of Milan. I had heard so many good reports I had to go and see for myself, the staff nearly out number the customers due to the small but intimate dining area this is complimented by an open plan kitchen where you can sit and watch food freshly prepared. It’s a taste sensation from a fantastic choice of authentic dishes. It’s a delight to find a place with so much passion for providing the best quality at very reasonable prices. I cannot recommend enough, this place is a real gem and I will certainly be back.
Stefanos – Keighleyordered from here lots of times spent loads of money i spent 30.00 and never received free bottle of coke like it stated.
Crowns Pizza and Spices – KeighleyOn 19.8.2009 We decided to call for a meal, the menu was very varied and after due deliberation we chose the Chicken and Bacon salad. On ordering at the bar the barman asked a lady sitting at a table, who must have been the cook if she could provide our order, only to be answered with , I can't remember what goes into a salad, then looking at the menu she said I've only Tomatoes , no Bacon and no Potatoes, the barman apologised and we left to eat elsewhere. Maybe we called on a inconvenient day.
Busfield Arms – KeighleyI have been going to Chaplins years now (think I was one of there first customers) it never disappoints, everything is homemade which you can tell straight away (even down to the bread rolls), we,ve had our sons 30th birthday there as well and the buffet was excellent, the staff are always friendly and helpful and to me like friends now, keep up the brilliant work Charles, julie, Stephen and the team long live Chaplins.
Chaplins Bistro – KeighleyWe ate here some time ago and I kept meaning to add this review it was a disgusting meal and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone the place is dark and dingy and the wine is some cheap £2.00 wine (that you could buy from your local supermarket) and they try and charge you £15.00 a bottle for it!! There were about 9/10 of us and some people said there meal was ok but I am speaking for myself and my partner we sent ours back and did not get a replacement as it totally put us off. Spare yourselves and don't go ever!!
Chaplins Bistro – KeighleyVery nice food and friendly staff, not much parking though.
Orient – KeighleyThe Dog And Gun has to be the best pub in the world. After a relaxing walk up the hill from Oxenhope Train Station you will have worked up an appetite - Thank God then that the food on offer here is superb! The service is fantastic, drinks selection excellent and the food is to die for. The spicy kebabs are amazing and the black pudding starter is beautiful. In fact, all the dishes are cooked to perfection. YOU GOT TO TRY THIS PLACE!!!
Dog and Gun Inn – KeighleyWow, i'd been wanting to try this place for a while now, as i am regular customer at a another local indian restaurant. so i took my wife and myself to place on saturday and was amazed to see in how busy it was, the manager was young but friendly, as it seemed the whole staff were very young, as i was getting abit worried to seeing young men trying to run a food business and what experience they would have, as i am used to spending my money for good food. The service was great, the food was exceptional and place is very clean. The manager (the guy that seem's to do everything) came around end of the meal, asked if everything was ok and that he had appreciated that i had to wait a while for a table. Its a good job, that i had waited and didn't walk out, just will have let the guys in my regular place to learn from this guys or i'll have to change my loyalty. Excellent.
Curry House – KeighleyThe food is excellent you cant get any better than CROWNS!
Crowns Pizza and Spices – Keighleygreat food and drink, fantastic place to stay, we stayed in caravan site next door, only 20min walk to haworth, bronty country, cant wait to go back,
Newsholme Manor Hotel – KeighleySlightly disappointed, the menu available is missing some items that are shown on the "online menu" Appeared to wait for ages before being acknowledged by waitress. When ordered, the food arrived fast. The fishcake starter was very tasty though and the steak pie and gravy very nice. Shame about the dry lacklustre salad and the rubbery uncooked vegetables though. The garlic mushrooms in "sauce" were really swimming in a watery "milk" mixture. Price was just acceptable but nothing to write home about.
Haworth Old Hall – Keighleya regular visitor to Alfies, great food, freshly prepared and the value of the buffet is excellent. A must visit place to go.
Alfe’s Restaurant – KeighleyBest restaurant in the area by far! Food is divine and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Mondays are the best with a 4 course menu and a live Italian singer all for a tenner! Been loads of times and quality is always as good. Love it.
Amici Ristorante and Pizzeria – KeighleyBottomless Brunch, £34.95 for 90 minutes.
