Lovely views over the Lyth Valley with it's damson blossom looking so beautiful in the spring

a fantastic restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly service

Not the usual chintz of the lake district! Excellent clean and modern accommodation - slate floors, freestanding roll top baths and flat screen TV's to name but a few features. Very cosy/intimate surroundings for couples. Dining is excellent (if a little pricey), but the awards speak for themselves. Would be nice in the summer but even better in winter. Afternoon tea (included in price) in front of real log fires is a must.

We had lunch on Boxing Day and travelled from Cheshire on reader recommendation.We were not disappointed a lovely located pub offering fresh local food sauces for puddings a bit thin and sparce.Lovely big selection of vegetables and meat, real log fire would have been nice gas flamed not quite the same.Would certainly return and recommend to friends

I think it was excellent food for your money

this is a lovely place to take a break for a drink, a snack or a meal, eating in or taking away, either are provided with class.

i think finkles is the best, i think the food service is ace, the waiters are exceptional, i absolutely love going there, go FINKLES
