One of the best Thai restaurants I've found in London. Charming service and more importantly very tasty food. Try the pad kee mao if you like noodles; the curries are also lovely. And they deliver, brilliant!

Thai Break – KensingtonMy friend Linda and I spent 1 week in London Nov. 24 through Dec. 2, 2006. We discovered Sopranos while walking in London. We loved it so much that we ate there three different times. So you have a fan in Huntington Beach, Ca. and Chandler Az. To bad it is so far away!!!! We would be there all the time.
Sopranos Restaurant – KensingtonIn our first visit to London we were delighted to have the opportunity to visit Romano's Restaurant in Kensington. Our first course featured Mediterranean grilled sardines which were grilled to perfection and served hot off the grill. Lightly salted and oiled with fine virgin lemon oil - I quickly knew that we were in the right part of town. Our dining experience improved even more when the second course was served. My wife ordered the mushroom risotto served with Romano's own hand picked truffles brought over from Bore, Italy. I ordered the swordfish with tomato sauce that brought an enjoyable evening to an end. We were so full that we passed on dessert - vowing to come back another time to test the deserts when we had more room. We would recommend this great restaurant to anyone who lives to EAT GREAT FOOD. Romano – KensingtonMy boyfriend & I went on Valentine's day but no fuss or even a mention of it was anywhere in the restaurant. The place is small and we sat upstairs which felt like sitting in someone's house. Very cosy but not in a good way as yor elbows practically touched others whilst eating. The only items that made it feel Thai were some wall hangings and a couple of Buddhas. Everything else was simple & quite unexciting. There was also a bar was upstairs which took up valuable space. I chose a seafood dish with pad thai j which was gorgeous but my partner chose a dish equivalent to beef rendang which, although nice, was lukewarm but he really liked it. (I'd have sent it back to be warmed up!). The starters were delightful - Tom yum soup & veg tempura. I would recommend only for the food as it lacked ambience and it took us 30mins just to get our drinks. The service was nice but poor as they were inattentive and slow & we heard them get other orders wrong. I'd go again but chivvy the waiting staff up a bit rather than waiting to be served for ages like lemons! Price-wise, great for a Thai restaurant in that location. Try it cos the food is lovely..
Thai Square – KensingtonThis is a great restaurant. I've been going here for 17 years. The food is fab; the waitresses are stereotypically stern eastern European types, who don't suffer those who've been foolish enough not to book ahead. It was gutted by fire in September 05 and refurbished to the same austere Polish style it had been done out in forty years ago. Even my mother-in-law liked this restaurant!
Daquise – KensingtonExcellent food, well presented. Expensive, but worth it!
Zuma – KensingtonWhat can I say...without a doubt the best Thai food I have ever had outside Thailand! The variety of dishes is extensive and they're all equally priced at £6, regardless of whether you have a vegetarian dish (why would you?) or king prawns. Having travelled extensively in Thailand I can safely say that these guys serve it up as authentic as it gets and, as you would expect from the Thais, it's always served with a smile. Great food, great prices, great ambience...what more can you ask for?
Churchill Thai Kitchen – KensingtonGreat Spanish without flying to Spain - and great wines also
Cambio De Tercio – KensingtonGeales is not the same place it was when we first went there ten years ago, but is still worth a trip nonetheless- new owners have updated the menu (but not to worry, the old standards are still there)- the atmosphere is of a small country cottage with some celebrity photos positioned where they would be noticed (it appears Sir Elton had a birthday party there a few years back)- Do get there early or be sure to book in advance as the place seems to always be filled up by 6:30
Geales Restaurant – KensingtonThis place is one of the best dining deals in London- very low cost considering its South Kensington location- wonderful potato pancakes, perogis, and all forms of reasonably priced comfort food from Poland- desserts are a high point, as is their selection of flavoured vodkas- the atmosphere is one of cold war Poland; it seems like the type of place where a spy might indeed "come in from the cold"!
Daquise – KensingtonWonderful atmosphere- a must for any Anglophile- excellent starters and entrees, especially the venison and beef steak- desserts are a bit of a letdown, but were still quite acceptable- great background music, mostly circa 1940's
Maggie Joness Restaurant – KensingtonWe went to Orsini ristorante recommended by some Italian friends, and that was good choice!! The food is excellent, simple and very tasty. The manager Ciro is very friendly and also a good chef. They also have very good selection of wine and delicious homemade "dessert", (try la caprese) yummy, Espresso to finish, was one of the best I we have tried in London A part of that was full of Italians which is always a good sign. The only problem is difficult to find it, but it is just opposite of V&A South Kensington. Definitely worth trying.
Orsini – KensingtonThis is a noisy, bustling, modern-cafe-style eatery with a large menu of Greek food. There are loads of starters, of which you can easily make a meal, plus generous-sized main courses featuring Greek ingredients. Most items come with excellent pitta bread, hot and seasoned. The hellenic burgers with a yoghurt and tomato sauce were a delight, and after marinated olives and spinach and cheese pie, took some eating power. But don't expect a relaxed, romantic evening here. The service (12% added to your bill) is ultra-fast, and our main courses arrived before we had finished our starters. I saw this happen to other tables, too, so I guess you have to treat this as superior fast food place - probably the best in the area. I'll be back for a quick lunch soon.
As Greek As It Gets – Kensingtonlovely lovely lovely
Giraffe – KensingtonA great place to enjoy fab Indian food that is really authentic and very inexpensive. My friends and I love the thalis and for about £12 per person we can do it often. The waiters and waitresses are really friendly. You must make a visit.
