The Five Bells – RochesterA family run restaurant with staff who are welcoming and attentive. The menu is varied and the prices reasonable. This is proper Italian food which is reflected in most tables being full on a Wednesday evening. You do have to leave a deposit of £5 a head which is returned to your card a day or so after you have eaten. The restaurant itself is also away from the rowdy part of Maidstone which is a bonus.
Vesuvius Restaurant – MaidstoneEaten here a few times and it never, ever disappoints. The food is incredible, the staff delightful and, as someone who grew up in an Italian family, it always makes me feel relaxed and at home. There are knick-knacks everywhere, nothing is rushed and you'll always know the most recent Napoli score! Would recommend Vesuvius to anyone who loves superb Italian food. Grazie mille Alessandro e famiglia xx
Vesuvius Restaurant – MaidstoneHad Sunday lunch there this past weekend. It was a pleasant experience, as the staff are lovely but a couple of points of improvement. I had the prawn cocktail to start, there wasn't enough bread and the salad underneath the prawn cocktail wasn't dressed, just plain dry leaves. The roast beef was cooked well and the veg and gravy were nice, but everything arrived lukewarm. It would also be great if there was some cauliflower cheese as a side. The apple crumble was lovely. I ordered a coffee with my dessert that never came, but it had taken 20 or so mins to get the bill so I couldn't be bothered complaining about it.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableAnother excellent meal, service and quality good as always!
The Five Bells – RochesterWe love it here! The staff are exceptionally welcoming and cater for your every need. The food is hot fresh and delicious and very authentic and good value for the quality. Great wines and drinks too.
Vesuvius Restaurant – MaidstoneOur first visit - lunch for our family of six. The experience could not have been better: great service and wonderful food. We'll be back!
Vesuvius Restaurant – MaidstoneThe best place to eat in Maidstone. Very friendly staff, excellent service and excellent food. We have never been disappointed
Vesuvius Restaurant – MaidstoneLove everything about The Five Bells, Staff are amazing, food is always gorgeous, atmosphere is brilliant. 100% recommend!
The Five Bells – RochesterWithout question, the best Italian restaurant for miles around. We have been eating there ever since it opened 10 years ago. The quality has always been superb, including our latest meal on Friday 25th March 2022. Not only is the food wonderful, Alessandro and his staff always make us feel welcome. We will be visiting again very soon.
Vesuvius Restaurant – MaidstoneAbsolutely love The Five Bells. The food is always amazing and such a lovely atmosphere with great staff!
The Five Bells – RochesterWednesday, 23 March was my second lunch experience (with friends) at the Vesuvius. The best meals I've ever had in Maidstone would be one way to describe the experiences. Alessandro and his team are truly excellent in every respect and I am truly looking forward to an evening meal there. Jim Myers
Vesuvius Restaurant – MaidstoneWhat a lovely find. It was a Monday night so quite quiet but lovely interior, staff were very friendly and helpful. Food portions plentiful and tasty. Only quibble was the garlic mushrooms, possibly tinned and served in a bowl so didn’t look very appealing. We didn’t have desert as too full but observed another tables order and they looked very good. Would definitely return, next time during the day as the outside area looks lovely and quaint. Wooden tables with a pond & water feature.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableBooked the table for Friday lunch. The food was lovely and good price but unfortunately just for our drinks (water and coke) we were waiting 15 minutes and 50 minutes for the food. Not sure if that’s normal waiting time, however the place is nice.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableThe best roast dinner we’ve had in a restaurant for a very long while. Meat tender, potatoes crispy, gravy thick and plentiful, fresh veg and a large yorkshire. The staff were helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableFood good but service dreadful. No menu or offer of drinks after 20 minutes waiting. Finally received main course followed by another long wait for desert menu. Having decided on desert we decided not to order as by then it had been two hours for just one course! Service needs to be addressed.
Chestfield Barn – WhitstableVisited Vesuvius Restaurant on a Friday evening for a night out. Had a fantastic dinner. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and the food was great - had a super evening and the prices were very reasonable. Will definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff for the evening, had a lovely time!
Vesuvius Restaurant – MaidstoneGreat food, and really amazing garden! Great location for cycling. We will be back!
