Kirkby Lonsdale is a historic market town located on the border between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales on the River Lune. Famous for it's Devils Bridge - a regular meeting place for motorcyclists and it's Victorian Fair held every September. There are many dining options including pubs, tearooms and hotels.
We were staying for one night locally and decided to go to the Lunesdale Arms for dinner. I had the Seafood Linguine and my wife had the Chicken and Chorizo Tagliatelle, both of which were excellent. Staff were nice and value for money good. My wife commented on the nice ambience and good restaurant layout. Couldn't fault it, would certainly go back.

I have been to many pubs serving frozen, badly cooked food at similar prices. The staff were all amazing and were particularly generous and kind to the children in our group which was so lovely (and rare) The atmosphere was of a proper pub with a personality run by people who clearly care about what they are doing. We will be back!

Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleI took a friend to the Lunesdale Arms for a birthday lunch as this had been her choice of venue although we both like it. We had a very pleasant meal of oven baked plaice followed by what was advertised as apple and rhubarb crumble. The rhubarb, which is what attracted us to the dessert, appeared to have gone missing so we mentioned this and an adjustment was made to the price. Apart from this, we enjoyed ourselves very much. We were surprised how quiet it was, especially once we asked for the rather loud music to be turned down although, to be honest, it was nice to have the place more or less to ourselves. We very much like the decor and ambience at the Lunesdale Arms. The service was attentive but not intrusive.

Service with a smile, an excellent menu and importantly for me a wide choice of gluten free options. All served piping hot, another important aspect for me. Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleFirst time visit with friends from the area. Very impressed al round. A very special restaurant, great decoration, tables nicely separated and a warm atmosphere. The staff were great, very accomodating and pleasant to deal with behind the bar and in the restaurant. The quality of the food and range offered was great. Two of the four us opted to share five dishes from across the menu which again was handled totally professionally by the kitchen and on service. It was absolutely great. For the quality of food on offer the prices were perfectly reasonable and no ‘discretionary service charge’ featured. Will definitely be returning even from Manchester. Spot on!! Thank you.
