CDJ Riverside Bar and Kitchen – DarwenExcellent Food and service as always. Recommended.
Wagon and Horses – LancasterGreat food, great atmosphere and staff attentive.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallAs always, lovely food and great service
Papa Luigis – ChorleyLovely Sunday lunch at our local. Good food, staff as always lovely!
The Traders Arms – BlackburnThe evening was extremely pleasant, the food choice was excellent especially as we do not eat meat. The service could not be faulted, the surroundings and decor very nice, loved the food and wine. We will definitely treat ourselves to further meals here.
Quattro’s – OrmskirkLovely lunch with my boy
The Ribchester Arms – PrestonReally enjoyed the roast chicken dinner .
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleWe had a very enjoyable meal on Saturday evening at the pub although a 1945 mealtime was probably a little late for the evening we choose, If we were to go back then we would book a little earlier as come the end of the meal the service dipped slightly probably just due to staff finishing perhaps. The choice of food is varied and caters for all tastes….maybe highlighting there was a separate vegetarian menu would have been useful but to be fair we didn’t ask and only found out after the meal. All in all very good although like many places a tad expensive.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallMy partner booked us a late valentines date night meal, we were really happy with how polite and quick the service was throughout the night. The food was lovely and we would definitely bring our family to see what an amazing venue it is! Thank you again for making our date night enjoyable.
Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyHad Sunday lunch with my family, I love this place, the food is excellent as are the staff & very reasonably priced. This is my 2nd visit & we will definitely be returning. They just need to update the website as
CDJ Riverside Bar and Kitchen – DarwenMyself and my husband came Sunday for the Sunday lunch. We have been before for a Sunday lunch and I can honestly say it was even better this time round.. the lamb just melted in your mouth everything was piping hot and so tasty.. people may think it’s a tad pricey but in my opinion you pay for quality and the food is just that ..
great service with lovely staff also
We all had a prawn cocktail to start & which was disappointing, as it was just a couple of lettuce leaves, some prawns & loads of Marie Rose dressing on a plate. More effort is needed. The Sunday roasts were tasty. However, we never got asked if we wanted a coffee or dessert. I think there had been a change of staff.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleThe starter course of crumpet with goat’s cheese was simple but well presented and tasty. The main course was ribeye steak with chips and salad. The steak was probably the worst I have ever encountered. Only a third of it was edible - the rest of it was gristle and fat. I would have returned the dish but I didn’t want disrupt my guest’s meal. Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleLovely food although we had to wait a long time for it. But worth the wait !
CDJ Riverside Bar and Kitchen – DarwenFriday 14.2.25 Beautiful place, nicely arranged rooms, privately arranged tables and very comfortable chairs but we were cold so we kept on our coats. Pate starters were £8.50 I think, the pate, chutney & toast was all very nice with some extra bread on the side which was a nice touch and an automatic bottle of water was brought which is always appreciated especially when one of us is driving. My wife chose the venison it was tender and beautifully cooked with tasty sides but hellish expensive at £30!! The sausage and mash was ok and chosen because it was the cheapest at £17!! Desserts - can't remember what it was called but it was in a glass with marshmallows, wasn't for me. My wife who likes most things had the trio of desserts. Never until now has she been disappointed with this choice. Presentation could have been much better, the nicest bit was the warm brownie which was no more than 3 x 3cm and at £12 we felt completely ripped off. The service was friendly but very steady and a few things got forgotten and although it was valentine's night they weren't busy so the service should have been better. At these prices it's a treat for us and automatically my level of expectation is much higher without disappointment. I would expect everything to be perfect and delicious. When you put yourself on a pedestal and the local competition is plenty and of quality you need to be top notch at everything. If the prices were lowered we would come back but unless that was to happen it's not worth the risk.
3 Millstones Inn – ClitheroeWe had our first sharing platter (roast) and I can't fault it, definitely value for money. We also ordered the tiramusu cheesecake which was really tasty. All staff were very friendly and the service was speedy. Highly recommend
The Shepherds Rest Inn – TodmordenWonderful evening! Sunday roast was absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to go back
