We came here for the first time and had food in the bar area which was very nice staff was very helpful and the food was as good as it gets , this place has been recomended to us so many times to us and we eventually came and will definatley be back again.

We love the Lunesdale Arms and we always come here when we are visiting our son at Lancaster University. The meal is of very high quality and the service is too. There is a very good selection, meat and fish dishes and pasta all delicious and a very varied starter menu. Love the fantastic array of puddings wheeled out on the portable menu. the ambience is always good and its great to finish off with a game of snooker too.

The food and service were fine but wheelchair accessibility not great. The cobbles in front of the door were very difficult to negotiate in a wheelchair and the disabled toilet is too small and there’s a wall jutting out right in front of it! A more thoughtful approach to disabled access at this pub is needed I think.

We had a tough time choosing between the tempting tapas and the bar menu, but in the end, we went with classic Fish and Chips and the Pie of the Day. For starters, we enjoyed the soup with croquette and Duck parfait – both were exceptional in both presentation and taste! The fish and chips were fantastic too, with light, crispy batter and amazing fish. The cheese pie of the day was beautifully presented, but whilst everything accompanying was fab the pie filling was a little underwhelming in taste in comparison to all of our other dishes. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back soon to try the tapas menu!

I recently ate here with my family. The pub is so cosy, with a lovely log burner and decor throughout. The food was amazing, and the service fantastic. I only tip when warranted, and was more than happy to give a tip at the end of the evening. I genuinely cannot recommend this place enough and will absolutely be returning in the near future.

There was a lot of choice on the menu, with both traditional pub food and a varied ‘specials’ menu. The food was delicious and well presented. The dining area was spacious and the atmosphere was friendly. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The food was competitively priced and represented value for money. I will definitely return and I will recommend The Whitchaff to family and friends.

The usual friendly welcome and service and easily booked on line too!Food was excellent,hot and tasty as we have come to expect.The surroundings are relaxing and clean as are the immaculate toilets.All in all a lovely break from ‘normal’ life

Lovely food as always. One of our favourite restaurants and welcoming staff.

Food was really tasty, although a few of the chips were rather overdone. The problem we had was the temperature. It was cold and drafty, made worse by the kitchen door being open ? To allow steak fumes to exit. Unfortunately when asked about a change to an alternative table this could not be facilitated and we were told all tables were taken …. Even though there were many free at the time . Really disappointed in the response and inability/unwillingness to resolve to make the dining experience comfortable.

What a great place. Found from reading Ribble Valley magazine. The food was fantastic, great atmosphere and staff. We will definitely be going back and have no hesitation to recommend to family and friends

The service was dreadful. The atmosphere was ok and the food was not bad but also not very good. Too much of the food is tinned and ghastly added colouring. But a slow and surly waiter who was unobliging in every respect is disappointing. We are looking for a more welcoming Indian restuarant in Lancaster.

Just moved to Rawtenstall 3 months ago. 1st time here and definitely not the last. Food was delicious, atmosphere was great. Lovely and helpful staff. A must from from me. We was a party of 4 and everyone loved it. Lits of choice, both wines and menu. See you soon

Superb food in an amazing atmosphere. The arancini are better than anything you’ll find in Sicily!
