The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallNever disappointed-service food atmosphere LOVE IT
Quattro’s – OrmskirkArrived and was promptly seated , served for drinks then waited about 25 mins for order to be taken, another 35-40 mins for the food by which time the kids were grumpy and starving, it was a 1st time back since the refurb and just felt too open , food came out after asking how long and was ok , lots of friends have had great food here, maybe it was an off night wasn’t overly busy and it was also a birthday meal so left feeling a tad deflated , hopefully it was just an off night
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallWe had a lovely meal served with smiles. Thank you
Maxy Farm Pantry & Restaurant – PrestonOverall we had an enjoyable and pleasant meal, to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary. The food was largely good; the soup starter was a bit bland, (I rated it a 7 out of 10); the main course, of venison, was the best I have ever tasted and the accompanying red cabbage was superb, (I rated it 9.5); the individual elements of the dessert were good, (salted caramel pana cotta), were good, but combined did not work for me, (I rated this a 6). The venison would have received a 10 if there had just been 1 more slice of the meat; for the price I thought a slightly more generous portion was warranted. The ambience was ok, although I would have preferred to be seated away from the door and in an area where there were more couples rather than groups. Unfortunately the 2 tables near us had groups of 4 and 6 on them and they were rather on the noisy side. I will know for next time. It was our first visit, and overall impression was favourable; we will definitely revisit.
Toms Table – ClitheroeVisited again for a lovely family meal and as always Astoria did not disappoint. Lovely family friendly atmosphere, amazing food and drink and staff can not do enough for you. Cannot fault this place, 5* all the way.
Astoria – BurnleyWe went here for a meal on my son's 16th birthday. We had one of the platters and some additional dishes, all were really nice and excellent quality.
A’Vucciria – RawtenstallEverything about the place is spot on
Quattro’s – OrmskirkWe visited Maxy Pantry for a Sunday roast for the first time yesterday after hearing good things from our friends and it didn’t disappoint. The lamb was lovely and cooked perfectly, the portion sizes were generous and the staff were lovely. We can’t wait to return
Maxy Farm Pantry & Restaurant – PrestonWent for a late Sunday lunch with my daughter and grand-daughter. We had a selection of dishes and enjoyed all of them ,as they were beautifully presented, full of flavour and delicious as always when we dine here. Staff are always welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere is great. As we live locally, we appreciate being able to access such quality food and surroundings within a 2 mile drive.
A’Vucciria – RawtenstallNo faults at all food was lovely, will definitely be back.
The Golden Ball Hotel – MorecambeI honestly can’t believe the transformation Paul, it’s fantastic team of made in The Whitchaff!! I have lived round here for 20 years and it’s always been one of our family favourites due to the food. It’s always been a “nice pub” but the transformation has absolutely blown us away!!! You could be in a gastro pub in rural Cheshire but at a fraction of the price. The service, food and overall experience will 10/10!!! Well done to the management as this is a true diamond in Rawtenstall
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallExcellent meal and really friendly service. Well done Team Whitchaff!
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallIt was our first family visit and we enjoyed the Sunday lunch. The only downside was you did not serve the Sunday lunch in kids portions. So we had to purchase an adult’s portion for a 8 year old. Good job she has a good appetite.
The Waterwitch – LancasterIt really pains me to write this review. I've been coming to the whitchaff since childhood and it's always been amazing. In a lot of ways, it still is amazing, but I've felt a little disappointed the last 2 times I've been. The refurbishment is lovely, although I think it's lost a little but of its character. The staff are lovely, very friendly, but just lack a little something. Maybe it's just lack of experience or a little more training is required. A few smiles would be great. The food, there is a lot of it, but both times, my food has been very oily, maybe the fat hasn't been hot enough when the food has gone in. This has left me with an upset tummy on both occasions. The atmosphere is always really buzzy, but sometimes seems a bit chaotic. It would definitely be amazing value for money, with a few little changes. A few little tweaks could make The Whitchaff really amazing. I hope this doesn't upset anybody, as I know you all work so hard, but sometimes it's just the little things that make something fabulous.
