Lovely lunch post Pendle Hill ascent. The wee man had a sausage mash and peas, pleased to see the pork was free range! I had an open sarnie, salmon an prawn. Both were demolished. Good quick table service too!

Barley Mow – BurnleyFood, service & ambience excellent! My husband had the 3 course lunch menu, which was fantastic value for money and did not suffer from any drop in standard from the normal menu. My steak Canadian was cooked to perfection and served with the best chunky chips in Lancashire. Washed down with a lovely glass of wine (for me) and a Spanish beer (for him), it was the perfect venue for Friday lunch on a rare day off together. We will be returning for our next one :-)!
The Ginger Bistro – PrestonBooked the table online, on arrival very impressed with smartness of staff and decor, first course really nice, second course came, had to send vegetables back, they were cold, my York shire pudding was burnt, surely the chef, or who was assisting him should have noticed the state of the food on my plate, or even the waitress when bringing the food to the table.
3 Millstones Inn – ClitheroeFirst visit since the huge new bar-lounge was added in front. Very impressive and it was needed too as the old bar did tend to get a bit crowded. Great atmosphere as always and a wide choice of both food and wine. The fact that this place is huge, well off the beaten track and always packed tells you all you need to know really.
Italian Orchard – PrestonNot an area I’m familiar with at all but after a Sunday walk in the country near Arkholme we stopped off for a quick beer and a snack here at The Red Well Inn. There were plenty of customers tucking into a Sunday lunch which looked good but we just shared chips, cheese and pulled pork. Recently refurbed I think and they have rooms here too if you fancy staying over.
The Redwell Country Inn and Restaurant – CarnforthMy husband 2 friends and I ate at the Ginger Bistro Friday 18th October and the food was amazing. Only problem was the beef bourguignon my husband had which he said was delicious was a small portion for a man. We will be returning very soon.
The Ginger Bistro – PrestonHad bottomless brunch yesterday afternoon, the food , drinks and entertainment were amazing already planning next visit. Great value for money.
Tiger Lounge – RawtenstallAbsolutely love this place. Classy, elegant, great ambience, fabulous food, great cocktails and a very impressive live music(saturday) Staff are also great too - attentive.Very nice food, not much food is served like this in Burnley. The staff here are very welcoming and friendly, they really do make you feel comfortable. I would say one of the best foods I have had in Burnley and surrounding areas. Definitely be back!
Astoria – BurnleyA while since dining out gave the wow factor but WOW food was awesome... all cooked from scratch and a reasonable price to boot. Can't wait for Autumn menu
The Dog Inn – BlackburnGreat food and service , piping hot , tasty and served by helpful , friendly staff, also had a great cooked breakfast both mornings during our weekend stay which were also excellent !!! Just one comment it would be lovely if guests staying over in the accommodation could have access to a snug area to sit in after dinner , as seating by the bar area is very limited .
The Hinds Head at Charnock Richard – ChorleyBeen here quite a few times and food is always excellent. Especially enjoyed the tapas and food night. Good value for money and a wonderful atmosphere.

The Ginger Bistro – PrestonExcellent food and service. Will definitely be going again.
Astoria – BurnleyWent here for a sunday afternoon meal. This was about our 6th visit to the Hinds Head and as always were delighted with the food and the service . For starters my wife had King Prawns and she said that the sauce was delicious. I had the creamy garlic mushrooms which were fantastic. For mains we both had the pie of the day ( Steak ) - The steak just melted in our mouths and there was plenty of it. As always the staff were very attentive and very polite. Thank goodness that we have booked to go back again in about 3 weeks !!!
