Border Rose – TodmordenFirst day it opened on thursday tried the fish and chips which was really nice, went again on the weekend chips were really soggy, fish was very crispy and batter was darker like it was overcooked which kind of put me off. Today on 28/10/2015 around 2pm tried a sausage butty and chips chips were not so bad but the sausage didnt taste like a chippy sausage it was more an asian style sausage and it was hard from the outside which tasted burnt overcooked. Fish and chips price is £4.75 which is reasonable but for a sausage butty and chips and a can of diet coke was extortionate, the question is would I go back. HELL NO
Mother Hubbards – BlackburnVisited Mother Hubbard's Blackburn on Sunday 25th October at around 7.30pm. The restaurant was very busy with queues to the door . My wife and I had 2 x fish and chips at £4.75 each to take away. I think the price is reasonable but unfortunately the quality is poor. The chips were soft and droopy ( chips should be crispy on the outside and soft in the middle) The fish wasn't much better . They were served on top of the chips in cardboard boxes and when I got home ( 5 min trip ) I tried to lift them out and put them on plates, but the soggy batter peeled off and remained stuck to the chips. I won't visit again which is unfortunate as I like to support local businesses
Mother Hubbards – BlackburnWe visited Angels last night to celebrate my birthday and had a fantastic meal. Compliments to Simon for producing a excellent menu, service was extremely good and all in all a wonderful experience ! THANK YOU!
Angels – PrestonThe chips was ok but the fish was awful -- the batter is too thin and not crispy at all -- the batter was more soggy than the ketchup -- it's new in Blackburn so I guess everyone is trying it out BUT am sure there will not be many return customers -- no where as nice as the local AJK chippy. I won't be going to Blackburn Mother Hubbards again -- Should had listen to the local people that have the same review but I had to try it out before I knocked it.. Not worth visiting.
Mother Hubbards – BlackburnFirst and last visit 19/10/15 about 2.00pm..nice clean and welcoming... The food however is diabolical... Ordered fish and chips to take out.... £4.75. A touch over priced but then I added to the order a cheese pie... £1.75.....I queried the price but was met with a blank stare from the new from job centre employee.... The surprise awaited me when I arrived home.... The fish and chip's had probably been cooked the night prior and were full of frying fat..... Not at all crispy as expected.... The expensive cheese pie was rock hard and had probably been cooked some day's prior to the aged fish and chip's... I did not manage half of the entire offering before it was all consigned to the bin!....I never, never feel sick but I felt sick last night and this morning..... I have travelled the world and never ever purchased such a foul meal in my life before..... This is also the first time that I have ever left a revue anywhere.... I have been totally ripped of and made ill into the bargain....
Mother Hubbards – BlackburnWe first came to the pub when it first opened 2 weeks ago and we were more than satisfied. The food was great. We called in last Sunday, when we asked for the menu we were told that is the menu, which was a piece of paper with only maybe three mains on starters and desserts, and told that is the only menu for today, so we left. I would like to say you should have covered up the menu outside. We will not visit again.
Hyndburn Bridge Hotel – AccringtonWhat a beautiful place! The pub, the village, the rooms and food! Highly recommended and we will return.
Assheton Arms – ClitheroeBad telephone service ever!!! 0 stars
Mother Hubbards – BlackburnA really beautiful building, newly renovated. Pub food at restaurant prices. Disappointing! Huge portions. Quite unnecessary. Friendly staff and locals.
The Fleece Inn – LancasterThis lovely little countryside pub is a great destination for those who are out in the countryside around Lancaster. The best dishes are the South African dishes which are consistently perfect :)
The Stork Inn – LancasterThe Dressers Arms is looking very nice after its refurbishment following a fire. Still retained some character whilst modernised. Fylde Rugby club Vandals team pop in here on the way back from certain away games. The landlord kindly lays on free chip butties for us. Fine beer and the food looked good in the restaurant.
Dressers Arms – ChorleyThe décor here was a bit of a surprise for a rural pub. Food was very good indeed.
Angels – PrestonFood varied and delicious, portion sizes plentiful loads of courses yum yum yum. Place, clean décor, relaxing, staff friendly. Have recommended to friends.
Mundo Tapas – PrestonWe often go to the Border Rose both for food and just for a drink. It is probably the best pub for miles around. Anyone saying any different must be mad. The landlord , landlady and the staff are all very welcoming and can't do enough for you. Wonderful place. Try it and you will see.
Border Rose – TodmordenHave been going to the Spread Eagle since 1977 with family and friends and have never been disappointed.
Spread Eagle – ClitheroeWhat a refreshing change, a landlord that looks happy, the pub is lovely with a good range of drinks, would recommend.
Katy & Kelly’s Real Ale Irish Bar – BurnleyDisappointing. Been to Harvesters numerous times and always enjoyed our experience. However, we went again today and we're extremely disappointed by our service (or lack of). Staff seemed uninterested, rude and very off throughout. We waited over half an hour for a waiter to return to take our order after waiting 25 minutes previously to receive our drinks. Every time we had to approach the bar and remind them we were still waiting for service. At the end of the meal the waitress cleared half our plates, slamming then down on the table as she did so as though it was an inonvenience, then failed to return for the rest until we asked for someone to. Food was good as always but tonight the poor service definitely ruined our experience. Very disappointing.
