The Cosmopolitan Restaurant and Cocktail Bar – ChorleyVery impressed with the new look. Service was greeted with a friendly smile and food very good. Have recommended this to others and shall be back again.
The New Scarisbrick Restaurant – OrmskirkUsed the afternoon tea voucher to treat my friend for her birthday and it was superb! Knocked spots off the Midland in Morecambe, The Ritz in London and especially M and S. Well done as the sandwiches were well filled, the cakes and scones delightful and we were even given a box to take home those we couldn't eat. It was a real treat .Thank you !
Thurnham Hall – LancasterA friendly welcome and the pulled pork butties are out of this world!
Edisford Bridge Hotel – ClitheroeMy partner and I have eaten here many times. The staff are always friendly and the place feels very relaxed. On the menu is a great range of choices to eat, not forgetting the specials menu. Tonight we are going to the Tapas night, which is very popular.
O’Marley – BlackburnA revamped pub which I am glad to say has returned to its former splendour after looking derelict for some time. The food is excellent and so is the standard of service. I have been tempted to try some food I haven’t tried before and now it is a regular. Definitely worth a visit even if the cost is slightly higher. You only get what you pay for.
The Fenwick Arms – LancasterVisited The Three Fishes in Mitton after its recent makeover. Not sure that it even needed one but I guess it’s good to stay ahead of the game. It has a more relaxed feel inside now and while the menu has not changed radically there are new takes on old school dishes like Prawn Cocktail and Steak Diane. I always thought this place was a destination venue (ie worth the drive out there) and this is still very much the case. If you’ve never been before, give it a go; if you have, check out the new look and the new menu.
The Three Fishes – ClitheroePlatos is a tapas cafe with all day English food. It used to good, but today we were all disappointed with the fare. Hard cooked eggs florentine and burgers like hockey pucks were discussed around the table. The eggs were replaced at speed and with grace and a smile. Today was maybe, just a bad day at the stoves. I hope so as Platos is a pleasing child friendly venue.
Plato’s – Kirkby LonsdaleHAVE BEEN GOING REGULARLY SINCE 1982. IT HAS JUST GOT BETTER AND BETTER NEVER HAD A POOR MEAL YET, HAVE TAKEN MANY FRIENDS OVER THE YEARS WHO ALL SAY WHEN CAN WE GO AGAIN. WHEN IT WAS MY LATE AUNT AND UNCLES 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY THERE WAS ONLY ONE PLACE THEY WANTED TO GO, ARTHUR MARGARET TED AND I ALWAYS TOAST THEM WHEN WE COME AND THANK THEM FOR INTRODUCING US TO THE D AND P ALL THOSE YEARS AGO.
The Dog and Partridge – LongridgeGreat food and beer, friendly staff we will be eating and drinking hear again and again.
Edisford Bridge Hotel – ClitheroeTerrible. Over 25 mins to take your order and over 40 mins to get your main. Food was bland and overcooked. My steak was charred to a frazzle and although it said the antipasto comes with crusty bread it turned up with a stale piece of brown bread. Overpriced, uninspiring and service non existent.
Francos – LongridgeCalled up to see if they were still unlicensed and had the phone put down on me! Charming.
The Cottage 1771 – PrestonThe Fenwick has risen again having defeated many, even the attentions of the great Gordon Ramsey. Now run by the Seafood Pub Company of Assheton Arms fame. The menu is not just fish and should satisfy most tastes. . From the outside the pub is not inspiring, right on the road, with a carpark-side terrace. Inside it is plain, almost stark, but very comfortable. The food is a triumphant delight. Superb produce cooked to perfection with side harmonies making up luscious plates. Service is swift, humorous, well informed and very professional. We had a pleasing and very very good lunch and can only hope that this time the Fenwick is here to stay, and will prove a worthy competitor to the nearby Highwayman.
The Fenwick Arms – LancasterI have eaten here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. The food and service are second to none,I also love the unique atmosphere and the great space to eat in there.First class service always with a smile.

Holt’s Chippy – NelsonWe visit on numerous occasions and have always been more than pleased with the food..The menu is extensive , the only complaint is that the portions are much too large, We are happy that the menu has been revised and that there are now smaller portions on some items . We certainly continue to visit on a regular basis.
Sycamore Farm – BurnleyAwful tasteless food and ignorant staff
Carlos – ColneI went last week and believe me it will me the LAST time i go, after being spoken to like a idiot by a man who i understood was called Leeroy. He took our order by shouting from across the "restaurant". he then cooked it himself while filling the place up with smoke and filling the street outside with smoke, somehow! food had clearly been frozen (maybe multipul times). I was vomitting 8 hours after into the night. Disgusting food, awful service and in general foul!
