Empire Chinese Takeaway – BlackburnVisited La Casa last Sunday for a friends birthday and it was fab! The staff were very welcoming and good fun and the food was gorgeous. We will be visiting again soon! Hayley
La Casa de Salsa – ChorleyDear Sir or MadamWe visited the Willows on the 14th August 2012 for a meal. We arrived at 6 45 pm and ordered a drink and at 720 pm we decided we had waited long enough and their were others waiting to order but there was only 1 person waiting on at the tables. The person working on the bar was pleasant but she was overworked by people just wanting a drink. We decided to go and commented on how dissatisfied we were and he apologised. We didn't feel that was enough, he should have at least offered us a drink so we shall not be visiting the Willows ever again.yours faithfullyMr Peter Howarth
The Willows – BlackburnReat Taste of China. My family usually go to Canton Chef whenever we come back to see our parents in Arnside. Their food is excellent and is better than our favourite chinese restaurant in China Town London. If you wish to taste good chinese food (and not the English style chinese takeaway which are normally cooked with a lot of flavour enhancers to produce the taste) just like a cup of instant noodles, Go and eat there. The menu on the web is more than 10 years old. Go and get a new one. John London
Canton Chef of Milnthorpe – LancasterFRIENDLY STAFF ON ARRIVAL AND GREAT FOOD! EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY!
Ego – BlackburnHad a fabulous time at Maxwells. Nice sunny day so sat on the roof terrace. Two of us shared a bottle of Prosecco and a Mezze sharing plate. Good food, good service and great atmosphere. Just across from the train station too.
Maxwells Cafe Wine Bar – ClitheroeThanks once again for being the perfect hosts for our girls afternoon on Saturday. You are our ONLY choice in Preston and thats why we come back time & time again. Simply the best Italian in town... Love Sam & the girls xxxxx
Tinos – PrestonSirloin Pub and Restaurant – Houghton near Preston- a definite must! We booked for the restaurant at eight thirty and there were a reasonable number of diners; you can also eat in the pub and there is a meal deal so there are options to suit everyone! It is the first time we have been here and loved the restaurant dining room that had loads of character, with all the English Pub traditional features but in a modern contemporary style with a variety of diners such as couples & groups of all ages. The service was everything a good restaurant should have without being in your face or stuffy. We were immediately greeted and seated and our orders taken, with complimentary water and dipping breads provided while we waited, the menu was interesting and varied and made a change from what is usually offered which made it difficult to choose! We opted for the Poached Pears in red wine v Blacksticks blue & walnut salad, raspberry vinaigrette, which was pleasingly presented and the flavours all complimented each other which made for a nice light starter – so far so good! My husband had the Traditional breed Sirloin steak that came with roasted cherry tomatoes, field mushroom, beer battered onion rings, chunky chips & watercress, it didn’t require any additional side dishes – it was a man-size meal! I chose the Traditional breed Ribeye steak which came with the same accompaniments and a choice of sauces; the steaks were cooked to perfection with a deep level of flavour that only quality meat can have, making them the best steaks we have had in a very long time! We decided to sample the desserts to see if they also came up to our very high expectations – sampling the Toffee & Banana Crème Brulee & Brandy Snap Crisp for my husband and I had the Tiramisu with chocolate and orange ice cream – both were sensational! This was an altogether a first class meal, professionally served, beautifully presented and highly recommended. The evening didn’t stop there as we went down stairs to the well patronized pub where a female vocal artist was performing, so we stopped for the rest of the evening! What an altogether enjoyable Friday night!
The Sirloin Inn – PrestonWent for my husbands birthday. Had 3 courses, the food was delicious, staff very helpful and friendly. Would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant
Quite Simply French – LancasterI visited today with my family for a nice chill out lunch to allow my nephew to have a run around which in the end was the only positive thing going for this place. When we arrive there was no other customers therefore we went to sit outside but not only didn't receive ice nor were we offered it tut tut 25 degrees outside. Then we ordered food for a chalk board which to start only gave a choice of baguette, salad, fish , scampi, pie, curry or lasagne. 2 for £10. So from that we ordered 2 scampi, fish and a cheese baguette which did arrive quite quick but....... And a say a big but. The fish was frozen battered fish , scampi had only six small pieces on and the baguette was good but I wouldn't say it was worth £5. The waitress brought out the food and as she walked away said its busy not brought cutlery out yet so left us with food but nothing. After a couple of minutes I went back in and asked for cutlery and she told me it was outside ...... So for a customer that has never been to this establishment before was not told and they were happy to leave the food the with no cutlery. I did try to speak to the manager on departing and this information was told to her as she was cooking and the response I got was " well she' s not coming out as she's cooking and she says she doesnt have a problem with her food".I LEFT GOBSMACKED
Saddle Inn – PrestonFabulous pub. Great service and wonderful food. We've been 3 times and had super meals. My other half is a michelin star chef so is particular, and we're yet to be disappointed. Thanks to Alex and the team. Do try it. Good reviews on Trip Adviser too.
White Bull at Alston – PrestonGood food, value for money, good guest beers, Bon homie!
The Park Inn – AccringtonExcellent as always. Pino and his staff never fail to deliver anything but excellent service. The food as always was fantastic!!!
Tiger Lounge – ClitheroeWe have used this restaurant for over 20 years and have noticed ups and downs over time. A recent visit was a joy. The location is good, looking over the bay, and the service is so friendly without intrusion. The food is far higher quality than you might expect from a seaside 'caf'e' it is very, very good. Always check the specials boards, sit back and enjoy.
Bow Window Restaurant – Morecambeservice was very poor. Very young waiters who didn't know what the food was, didn't get the food order correct and didn't even get a drinks order correct. Service was very slow. When the food did arrive the quality was shocking also most of it was either under cooked or not even cooked in the case of the chicken kebab. You would actually find better food out of a bin. Another party complained about their food not being cooked and also bread was full of mold. We have been many times in the past and it was a lovely place to go, so not sure if it has changed hands during 2012. I think it needs to change hands again.
Seasons – Chorleyfirst visit last night 3/8/2012,food fantastic staff great and friendly, till the time myself and friend decided to use our electronic cigarette then went down hill from there,we was told that other guest's would have thought we was smoking,How i dont know it light's up blue and is only a vapour no smell and whom would light up a proper cigarette inside anyway,it doesnt cause any distress to anyone,we was a party of 3 and spent 120.00 pound's then was told we couldnt have coffee outside on there seating area, and they treated us very rudley after that,so we dont feel we can go back, they was very pleased to take our money's but with no smile and bill just dumped on the table.
Casa Tapas – RawtenstallWe had been before, so we didn't expect to enjoy it as much as our first visit over 2 years since.. We were wrong! The surroundings were fantastic despite the inclement weather. The staff were very cheerful and friendly, the service could not be faulted, the food was fantastic, and not over priced. We will definitely go again.
