La Vespa – ClitheroeWanted to go somewhere for a great Sunday lunch and was definitely not disappointed. Plenty of food, great prices and superb quality beers. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Have been back already for a midweek meal and food was just as good!
Dalton Arms – LancasterReally lovely traditional pub. Nice bar and open fire. Staff couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. Excellent food and very reasonable...we were all very full! Well worth the visit, we were certainly not disappointed and will be going again.
Dalton Arms – LancasterThis is the best restaurant we have ever been to. The food is just amazing, and such a brilliant choice. We have been over Christmas, lunch time and in the evening, and all menus are superb. The service is the best we have ever experienced in this country, it is the outstanding service that we see in other countries. The manager is very attentive and eager to please your every wish. Your drink is never empty without one of the wonderful serving staff asking if you would like another. Above all, I can not express how much I love this restaurant! I have recommended it to everyone I know
Piri Piri – OrmskirkI went here yesterday with a colleague and we were both disappointed. I ordered fish and chips (small) as I wasn't very hungry. Small??? - MINUTE would be a better description - I have never seen such a small portion - it would not have fed a small child. A few thick chips (6 or 7) and a dollop of mushy peas. £8! My companion had tasteless duck pasty with a very small portion of fries. The guy I spoke to about it just said "so you're disappointed?" and then drifted away, never to return. I shall never return either....
The Sparrowhawk – Burnleythis is a good restaurant. i would recommend it to people who are looking to dine or go for special occasions
Dil-Raj Restaurant – ClitheroeExcellent meal in pleasant surroundings. The evening we visited the staff was low in numbers, but that made no difference, there were no delays and certainly no rush. The menu choice, the meal and service was excellent. We will go again and maybe in the lighter evenings to see more of the locality.
Dalton Arms – LancasterI have visited the Malt house on several occasions within the last few years. I would consider it to be a good pub-restaurant within a lovely setting. Homemade fresh meals are fabulous especially the sweet potato chips! Never been disappointed yet.
The Malthouse Farm – ChorleyAs a vegan of many years I was delighted with my experience at Jim's. The chef was very helpful and was happy to alter any of the dishes to accommodate my vegan and my partner's gluten free diet. The food was excellent, the service was first class 'service with a smile' even though they were clearly very busy and the price was very reasonable, I couldn't fault it at all. We had a wonderful time and will become regular visitors!
Jim’s Vegetarian Restaurant – ColneHad not been to the Red Pump for a good while, what a mistake, this is an excellent place to dine out, we need to visit more often. You get a warm welcome and the staff are, friendly and helpful. We went with friends on a Saturday night, it was busy with a good "buzz" in the dining room. I follow a strict vegan diet, and have to say some restaurants attitude is diabolical, but not at the Red Pump, having read a previous review about dietary requirements, I have to agree that they go the extra mile. I had a delicious curried potato soup with saute potatoes and mango chutney, followed by a vegan lancashire hotpot, twice cooked chips and green beans. I am not a big pudding fan but maybe I made a mistake by not asking for one, would have been interesting to see what creation I got. Anyway make a beeline for the Red Pump, Martina and John are great hosts and it will not be long before we return.
The Red Pump Inn – ClitheroeWent on Fri 18th Mar 2011. Had Sheek kebabs to start which were delicious. The service was absolutely impeccable. My chicken biryani was too hot for my taste buds and we mentioned this and were offered a replacement straight away. The food wasn't as great as the service but I'd still rate the over all experience as 8/10
Shajan – BlackburnWe went for a meal at the Italian Cottage and was prepared for an average meal and experience, but were completely wrong!!! The service was friendly, unobtrusive and attentive. The food was absolutely gorgeous.....the garlic tomato bread was to die for! I love what they have done with the interior....... wooden floors and tables but adding warmth with leather chairs, dark accent wall with lots of different types of clocks, the spiral staircase and original oven range. Several people turned up without bookings but had to be turned away as they were so busy.....so make sure you book! It really was good food, good service and good atmosphere!!
Italian Cottage – ChorleyWow what a let down! Sorry but I had read all the reviews and genuinely visited with high hopes. Perhaps I am too fussy but the quality of the food and drink fell way way short of my expectations. I have never posted an adverse review before but here goes!!! Didn't get off to a great start as having read the blurb about a QE2 mixologist in charge of cocktails I thought let's go for it but the bellinis were just a glass of cheap champagne with cordial added at £6 a pop. I ordered a Paella which when it came was a dollop of soggy rice and seafood and didn't taste freshly cooked and a chicken tagine was nothing more than a chicken breast fillet that had been boiled in a tin of chopped tomato with a few bits added, . Notwithstanding the dissapointment with the food and drink by far the worst part was the reaction when I politely and discreetly tried to express my dissatisfaction. The waitress, who actually was very pleasant but obviously embarassed, seemed to understand my grievance and attempted to appease me by offering alcohol as compensation. When I explained that getting my money back, or getting drunk, wasn't the critical issue and asked to have a quiet word with a manager/proprietor/chef who I thought might have had some concerns with untouched food being returned She clearly indicated they werent really bothered and gave me an e-mail address instead. Sad to say I left with an empty soul and an empty stomach but thought fit to post here. I know many people love this plale and maybe I just had a bad experience but its nice to have a balanced view.
Seasons – ChorleyThe Sultan restaurant can't be beaten for fresh, delicious Indian cuisine. I have been a fan since attending St Martins 25 years ago and go to the Sultan whenever I'm back in Lancaster. As a student we always spent more money on curry at the Moghuls, [ previous location], than we did on beer because it was so good and a great place to socialise.
Sultan Of Lancaster – Lancasterabsolutely terrible. a total of 5 dishes were sent back to the kitchen, the service was slow - waited an hour for the mains. over rated & over priced.
Clog and Billycock – Blackburnreally enjoy our nights out at Marios. even if we don't go in for a few months due to circumstances - he never forgets who we are. really enjoy the food and the atmosphere and the people xxx
Mario’s Ristorante – BarnoldswickWe visited Luciano's 2 weeks ago on a Saturday it was fantastic!! could make my mind up between the salmon or the lamb I opted for the salmon it was delicious..the people at the next table opted for the lamb they said it was so good they were tempted to order another one between them but decided to go back on Sunday instead !!! If you have not been do try it, the food, the ambiance, and the service are excellent
