FORUM – Prestonwe came with high expectations as we went to quattro's who mezzos used own quite alot, to our dismay it felt too posh and overrated for what it was. For starters i had the scallops on the special menu which really nice, But then i had suckling pig at £18.95 when it came all i got was bits of belly pork in a rosemary gravy, my partner and her friend had risotto my partner had seafood and wasn't even served a hot water bowl to clean her hands from shelling the prawns. I noticed some chefs from Quattro's which was a nice surprise. The host stefano was quite rude and full of himself to say the least. I will return but only to see if any improvement has been made.
Mezzo Restaurant & Bar – PrestonWonderful experience, Menu, Food, Staff, Ambience, Cleanliness and Hygiene all excellent can't wait to visit again.
Aroma Asian – BurnleyFood was superb, easily the best indian in Burnley. a little expensive on the extras ie drinks and sundries.
Shapla Restaurant – BurnleyWent to view a menu with a view to returning for lunch today. It seemed a nice place. BUT, the lady that was outside tinkering in a car (the owner?) spoke to us like we were about the rob the place. The way she spoke to my fiance and I was rude and insulting. She put us off ever returning again. We only strolled across to see what time it was opening at and to see if a menu was on display but we were told its shut and no menus were on display, her tone was dreadful, we left in a hurry. Don't think we'll ever go back there again!!!!
Yew Tree Inn – ChorleyThis place is nirvana, lovely people, fantastic food and 1st class service. I have had many indian meals in many cities but this place is the best I have ever been to and the prices are breathtaking. You get the best of both worlds here, quality food and very low prices. The house wine was excellent as well and for a restaurant very well priced. This place sets the standard for others to beat. Make a visit to this marvellous restaurant, you wont be disappointed, I was astounded.
Hamadan – LongridgeHaving been a regular customer for quite a time we were very dissappointed with our a la carte lunch the other day. It appears that the Chef/Proprietor was away and as a result the food both starters and main was undercooked and substandard. Difficult to tell the difference between a partridge starter and a grouse main course as both drowned with dressings and served rare. Will only return if and when chef is on duty.
Freemasons At Wiswell – ClitheroeThe wine was extremely palatable and served at a good temperature, the waitress was well presented pleasant and helpful albeit she didn't have a knowledge of some of the dishes content and surprisingly the chef was unable to give her the information either!. However the food lacked lustre as although a couple of the dishes eg. the slow cooked lamb were tasty the majority were poorly presented, tepid and some eg the gambas were overcooked. Sadly overall it was mediocre, at the best, and not an experience I would choose to repeat.
La Casa de Salsa – ChorleyVery impressed with this hotel. Popped in today for a meeting and the place has undergone a great refurb since my last visit. A touch of international class to grim Preston!
Cast Iron Grill At Preston Marriott Hotel – PrestonI have just been to the double tree with my husband and two friends. The service was excellent as was the meal We will definitely be recommending it to friends. An excellent experience for us all. Well done to all the staff from four visitors from Scotland.
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – PrestonYou cant beat it , the best in the area by far, very freindly and helpful staff and very clean.
Il Gusto D’ Italia – PrestonModern and stylish decor - an impressive refurbishment. The food is good and there was a lovely atmosphere - even on a Sunday evening. If the service was up to scratch (had to wait to be seated, had to wait for menus, had to wait to order drinks, had to wait to receive drinks, had to ask for the bill and gave up waiting for the credit card machine to be brought to the table) it would be a TOP dining establishment!
Mezzo Restaurant & Bar – PrestonSuper service by friendly efficient staff. A great ambience with a tremendous choice of drinks. The place to take that 'special someone' if you want to impress. I will be back.
Baluga Bar and Club – PrestonFood, sensational. Price, you get what you pay for. Ambience? A delight. Staff, excellent. Somelier extremely good, hugely knowledgeable. They can't get better can they?
Northcote – BlackburnWe've eaten at the Shapla on a number of occasions since it opened and been very happy with the food and service each time. The food is consistently good and IMHO probably the best in the area, taking over that mantle from the Usha. Staff are welcoming and provide attentive service.
Shapla Restaurant – BurnleyNice place nice food but definitely not a place to take kids! We went yesterday and were told to keep the kids quiet before we were even shown to our table! When I booked I did tell them we had kids with us and asked for a quiet corner and they assured us this wouldn't be a problem! I felt that they were looking at us disapprovingly all evening! Don't think I'd go again and definitely not with kids!!
Mezzo Restaurant & Bar – PrestonI had a meal there on Tuesday October 8th and it was excellent. The food and service were first class. I didn't collect a vat receipt for my expenses.
