A fine pub. Recently `done up,' but they have refreshed it without killing its character, Great people, very good beer, and I can recommend the food. (PS: I'm picky, trad, choosy about beer and nosh, and hard to please!)

Green Man – PrestonExpected great things from this award wining Indian. Place is cool, service professional though a bit surly. Food is better than the normal Indian restaurant in terms of choice and preparation. My Chicken spinach dish had an excellent sauce and reasonable meat. My partners Lamb was far too chewy and she left it. I am always disappointed that Indian restaurants struggle getting Lamb tender. This place purports to be top class. However with meat like this it fails to be. Therefore wouldnt return in a hurry. Shame.
East Z East – PrestonRubbish food with rubbish service and customer care. Thick pizza base, tasteless sauces and no interest in customer feedback. This was not the case three months ago
The Pack Belthorn – BlackburnRubbish food with rubbish service and customer care. Thick pizza base, tasteless sauces and no interest in customer feedback
The Pack Belthorn – BlackburnEnjoyed a quality sandwich at this quality Blackburn pub/restaurant. Great location near the m65.
O’Marley – BlackburnVery good place, food and service is excellent, although the owner is sometimes stressed out and this shows. But the majority of the time she is very pleasant and has a really good '' common banter'' on her. The beer is a wee bit expensive, but it's worth it for a Pint of Sun Lick Chinese Beer. Overall fantastic place and the best in the area if you ask me.
Sun Dragon – RawtenstallTo me there is no better Indian restaurant in the area, the people are welcoming an polite, service is excellent an the food is mouth wateringly good, get your self there and enjoy!
Agra Indian Restaurant – BurnleyAVOID this place if you can cold stale tasteless food, poor even by a drunkard standard!
Tandoori Knights – ColneI went to the Eagle with some expectations of a good meal but was sadly disappointed. The fish pie was 80% (and I am being generous here) mashed potato and when I did locate the odd piece of salmon it was overcooked, dry and devoid of flavour. Thankfully the goats cheese starter had not been touched by the hands of the kitchen beyond plating it up with some surprisingly pulpy and flavourless figs and a smattering of leaves. The ambiance after 10pm was best described as 'school disco for the over 40's' which at least provided us with some unexpected entertainment, unlike the food. I won't be rushing back.
The Eagle at Barrow – ClitheroeCame here doing a tour of the "Good Beer Guide" pubs in Lancashire. Excellent pint of well kept Thwaites Nutty Black and Cumberland sausage/mash to die for - thoroughly recommended.
Smiths Arms – PrestonDear staff of the Barbon Inn, Just to say a huge thank you to all of you for a most enjoyable Mother's Day lunch yesterday. From the moment we were offered a delicious complimentary glass of wine on arrival we were made to feel most welcome. All six of us thoroughly enjoyed the meals we chose - not always the case when you try somewhere new and are not sure what to have, and especially as my 3 children are pretty fussy eaters. As I said to the lady who served us, the venison pie was the most delicious pie I have ever eaten bar none! The tables were beautifully decorated and the service was warm and attentive. All in all the perfect meal out. Even the toilets were a bit special! I must confess that I found you by accident on the Internet when searching for somewhere else and I'm so glad I did. Unfortunately living in Keighley we are not exactly on the doorstep but would love to come back soon. Can you recommend anywhere to camp in your beautiful valley, so that we can hopefully pay a return visit when the weather warms up? Once again many thanks, Regards, The Spence family, Keighley, W. Yorks
Barbon Inn and Restaurant – Kirkby LonsdaleMy children took me to Calypso last Sunday for Mothers Day. I had never eaten Caribbean food before and absolutely loved it. There was a great atmosphere and the staff were wonderful We had the platter and that was great as we were able to sample lots of different dishes I will certainly be returning at every opportunity and would recommend to anyone.
Calypso Restaurant – BlackburnA very vibrant and friendly cafe food to high standards well worth a visit
Erics Cafe – Morecambefish beautiful chips dry and crispy proper mushy peas nice clean shop highly recommended
Ilex Chippy – RawtenstallWhat a fantastic meal-the best Italian we have ever had. The food was out of this world, the tastes were just sublime. The staff couldn't do enough to make our meal special and told us all about the dishes and where the produce was sourced. You haven't lived until you have sampled the delights at this authentic Italian restaurant.
La Locanda Ristorante Italiano – ClitheroeGood to see Sukhis Restaurant has a good mention in Sugarvine. I have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions when visiting Darwen with my wife, who was a Darwen girl before moving to Australia. June 2009 was our last visit and we enjoyed Sukhis hospitality with his friendly, courteous staff. . Still looking for a perfect Chicken Tikka Marsala as nothing comperes in Australia. It wont be long before we come back.
Raj Mahal – DarwenI recently dined at this beautiful establishment and it was superb. The Place is drop-dead gorgeous with roaring log fires and lovely traditional charm balanced with modern luxurious touches. Loads of comfy settees and also a very classy restaurant. Also worth noting were the beautiful toilets - I always judge a place on its toilets! We dined off the Table d-hote menu which was two courses plus a glass of champagne for a great £20! The food was beautiful, very nicely presented and staff very attentive. One slight gripe is that they failed to cook my beef well- done as I had asked (how hard is this??!) but I experience this wherever I go and they did do it again and it was almost perfect! A definite place to go if you want a classy and luxurious meal in beautiful surroundings.
Mitton Hall – Clitheroerecommend i think not. terrible service, the customer is definitely not right burnt food would not recommend this restaurant to anyone
