Clog and Billycock – BlackburnBeautiful restaurant in lovely surroundings. We ate there sat 13 Feb. I had the chicken. It was lovely but not enough sauce for both my friend and i . We think chicken can be a bit dry without the appropriate sauce and there definitely wasn't enough on. Everything else was lovely. My hubby had cheese and biscuits but they came without butter. He asked for butter and the waitress just plonked 2 pats of butter down for him, now i think that should have come in a little ramekin dish as the hotel is so posh and eating out these days is expensive. One of the young girl waitresses was very serious and could have had a bit more of a smile on her face. The welcome bucks fizz was lovely a very nice touch. Would definitely come back again. We travelled about 30 minutes to get here so it was worth it.
Haighton Manor Country House Hotel – PrestonThe location was surprisingly rural and the design / layout of the building was beautiful. The food was very good with exceptional presentation. The only disappointment was that my wife and I were overcharged for an extra pint of beer which we hadn't ordered. We didn't notice until after leaving the restaurant. Upon speaking to my parents, it occurred that they too had experienced overcharging except with food....therefore be careful!
Italian Orchard – Prestonjust to let every 1 no iv been going kong city for the lst 6 month because u get quick service also their food is fab and they are polite with u,,,,
Kong City – BlackburnWe visited the Cavendish last Saturday (6th Feb ) for a late lunch. What a really pleasant surprise as the experience was very enjoyable. We were pleasantly welcomed and took a table in a side room with a cosy fire and a lovely glass of merlot. We chose from the menu and were pleased to see that it contained a smallish, but obviously not production line, choice. We both had a blackpudding, cheese and bacon starter which was delicious and then a duck dish which again was cooked to perfection. The desserts were equally as mouth watering and we left the pub thinking how fortunate we were to have rediscovered a local; eatery of such quality. We will certainly return and hope that the standard has been maintained.
The Cavendish Arms – ChorleyMy favourite restaurant for quality of food, service, friendliness and of course price. It's difficult to get them all right at the same time but, in my opinion, the 3 Millstones certainly does. The food is cooked and presented superbly, the service is very friendly and efficient but not in your face. The early bird menus are amazing value for money and absolutely delicious. Perfect!
3 Millstones Inn – ClitheroeBetter than all the rest, ouside of Italy I've never had such freshly made, tasty, smooth, and interesting ice cream - and the tastes vary depending upon which ideas the owners ( a mother and daughter team) come up with. Espresso, honey, honeycomb, liquorice, jelly bean, fresh strawberry, and so on...always a massive choice available, definitely the best place to stop for a bit of gelato on the A59. Just South of Preston. Oh, and they can keep a tab on your kids' birthdays for a free ice cream sundae!
Tootsies – PrestonMy wife and myself stumbled upon North Street shortly after it opened, and have been several times since. The food and atmosphere is always fantastic and the staff very friendly and helpful. North Street has to be the best Indian restaurant I have been too, not over priced, and portion sizes are good. I would recommend it to anyone and have taken many of my friends there who all agree with the quality of the food. If you are not from the Rossendale area it is still worth the trip.
North Street Indian Restaurant – RawtenstallMay I recommend The Pendle Heritage Centre Tea Room for a Coffee break,Snack or Meal. The Tea Room overlooks the wonderful 18th century Walled Garden and is a perfect place to relax and sample the wonderful homemade meals or you can treat yourself to one of the many homemade cakes..Can't wait to return and spend some time at The Pendle Heritage Centre
Pendle Heritage Centre Tea Room – NelsonTruffles is by far the best restaurant in the area, the choice of food and wine is excellent. The service was fantastic with attentive staff and a chef that actually takes an interest in the views of the customers!! Yet to try a gourmet evening but all the menus look so tempting!! Would definitely recommend for any occasion - special or just a Saturday night out.
Truffles – ChorleyAfter visiting Dantes some time ago and thoroughly enjoying the food I persuaded my neighbors to go for a night out. All being a little dubious after the write up in the Guardian we gingerly went along. The food was to usual excellent standard. The place was packed with over 250 booked. The service was a little haphazard however dealing with that many covers at one time you couldn't expect any more. We are all going again for my friends 40th next week and I am sure we will have a great time once again. One of the best Mediterranean restaurants around.
The Halfway House – ChorleyThis is best Indian Restaurant by far in the North West and rivals a few places I have tried in London. The food was amazing and as one other commenter mentioned not the usual meat and same ole sauce. I could not recommend this place any higher for you curry lovers out there. Cant wait for my next visit.
The Elephant – Chorleyvisited checcos a few times and really enjoy it. somewhere young and modern on the outskirts of city centre. atmosphere is always buzzing, bar area is great for pre/post dinner drinks. adore the cocktails. makes for a great night out not just a meal out.
Checcos – Prestonsuperb food, divine wines and great service you can't ask for more , i also found the bill very good value £150 for 5 of us and you can tell everything's fresh, thank you pond for a lovely evening
Duk-Pond – PrestonI would highly recommend this pub. Had a lovely meal in warm, friendly atmosphere. Staff extremely friendly, service excellent and good value for money. Will be returning. You must book early, always busy.
The Travellers Rest – ChorleyI would just like to thank the staff at pinnochios for another great night on Thursday 4th feb, as usual the food was great and the new homemade sweets were fantastic. My family enjoyed the night so much. thank you once again.
Pinocchios – PrestonI have visited Angelo's several times since their refurb in November. My first visit was with my Mum ad friend where we sampled the new menu options..I had the Ceaser Salad which was delicious! I returned for my works do mid Dec and the service and food for 35 of us was excellent! I there fore returned for my birthday two weeks ago where 10 of us sat on a lovely round table and had a fantastic night. The decor is classy yet comfortable and the staff attentive and polite. I recently found out Angelo's is part of the same group as San Marco (Much Hoole).......enough said! Keep up the good work!
