I have been here a number of times over the last 5 years. No matter if there are only 2 of you dining, 4 or 15 - you get an excellent service. Amazing food with lots of choice on the menu - you cant go wrong. Would recommend to anyone - just advisable to book on Fri/Sat evening as it is always busy

We have been to this restaurant almost every Friday night for the last fifteen years. we highly recommend for the quality of the food, the service of all the friendly staff and because Paul and Carmelo always look after us . the atmosphere is also very italian. In all this time we have been eating here, never once have we had to complain about anything. We promise you will not be disappointed .

I would not recommend this restaurant. The service was extremely poor and we had to wait 40 minutes between our main course and desserts. Staff did not know the menu selection and could not give a full description of items on the menu. Very disappointed and would not return as I did not consider it value for money and was expensive for the quality of food which was average. Overall a bad experience.

i would recommend NOT to visit to eat. its over priced frozen food, its pub grub that isn't good.

Fab Indian drinks a little on the dear side. The staff are very good and attentive they always make an effort. Never had a bad meal even on the Sunday Buffet there is so much to choose from and the quality is high and at a good price for £10 all you can eat but you cant come its all mine lol.

What a find! - fantastic food, excellent service. The 2 course menu is excellent value for money, and the Specials Board is very good too. The staff were very friendly - nothing was too much trouble. We were part of a large group - service was slick yet not rushed. We would highly recommend Checcos to anyone.

The best steak I've had in a long time, worth every penny! cooked to perfection, couldn't have asked for more! Highly recommended!

The menu is small and doesn't offer a single vegetarian dish. The waiter said he would speak to the chef and took off and only returned to serve food at other tables, avoiding ours. I ended up ordering just a starter (the only veg dish!). Both our meals were just about average. We would definitely not go back.

Our party of 8 certainly did not enjoy our evening (23/01/10). On arrival we discovered our booking had not been entered in the diary. Luckily there was a cancellation which meant we were squeezed in. Our main complaint was there being no management in attendance and being left for over an hour after our main course before we had to ask if we were to be offered the sweet menu. When we asked to see the chef he eventually came to see us but was rude and arrogant. He argued with us on all points even as to the time we arrived and offered nothing by way of apology. He may be able to cook but the overall dining experience is way beyond his comprehension.

Always a lovely welcome from Dot and staff, best food in Lancashire, Paul first class chef, lots of variety, cooked to perfection. Have missed visiting while refurbishment, looking forward to opening in February....Would recommend any one to visit for a really good meal.

what can i say that every one has already sais we have been going here for the past 6 years and every time we go it is excellent we had our civil partnership meal here and we was looked after very well the food is top notch and the service second to known we would like the thank paul and carmelo and all the staff for all there hard work in making the place what it is many thanks once again Anthony and ken

We absolutely love the Clog & Billycock and have been several times now. The food is superb, the staff brilliant and the atmosphere is always buzzing.

We to Sukhis on Saturday night with my husband. It has a great vibe, the staff are brilliant and the food fantastic! We ordered far too much food though. Will definitely be a favourite of ours for a curry.

We are hoping to book a table to celebrate our daughters first wedding anniversary. That is their choice when we were thinking of somewhere special!!! The fish cooked in leaves I find superb

We visited Angels on New Year's Day and had a fabulous meal. There were 14 of us as well as a young baby and the attention we received from the staff was first class. Nothing was too much trouble and the quality of food was amazing, especially considering the size of our party. I would recommend Angels to anybody. Thank you to all the staff who made our New Year very special.

My wife and I arrived at the Dog for lunch to celebrate her 50th birthday only to find that we were the only ones to have kept to our booking and not cancelled due to the weather !! Not deterred we had a 3 course meal off the lunchtime menu which gave us a great selection of starter, main and sweet (including choosing off the specials board if required). We both had the potted shrimps for starters. I had the roast pheasant which was superb. My wife had the baby leg of lamb which was huge and fell off the bone. For sweet we had a trifle and raspberrys with shortbread and cream. A couple of cups of coffee and mints ended what I can only describe as a fantastic meal. I use to live locally in the 90's and went to the Dog regularly. The place is just as as warm and friendly as I remember it to be and the quality of the food has remained the same. £17.95 each for a 3 course lunch, highly recommended !!!! We will be back again !!!

Went for a wonderful winter walk that started and finished at this excellent country pub. After 6 miles we were really ready for our sunday roast and were not disappointed. Great wine from Byrnes and we loved the decor and atmosphere. Next time we will stay!

A truly wonderful country Inn. Definitely one of Englands finest! An inpromptu stay as our car was stuck on an icy road nearby. What a place to be stuck! I love the intact Georgian feel the place has, the wonderful curios and its attention to detail. A must stay venue!
