East Z East – PrestonI have been dining at the Plough with friends for 9 years now and we are always impressed with the enormous menus, first class food and warm welcome. The guest malt whiskies are an added bonus.
Plough Inn – ChorleyThe king of currys ,Rishton Balti house is the best you should try there currys especially the one i had lamb chops noorani with a garlic naan ,ummmm, feel like having one now.Give the balti house in rishton a visit you will not be disappointed ,you will come again and again and balti house keep up the good work.
Balti House – BlackburnThe restaurant is only a short walk away from clubs and the pubs of Bolton, but in a good place as not to be disturbed by the crowds on a weekend. There are a couple of side streets and car parks close by to park on. There is a large selection of foods to choose from on the menu, both meat and vegetarian.I particularly like the fish dishes and pasta dishes. The one set price is to eat as much as you want and as long as this is not taken advantage off, you are fine. You can order desserts and coffees at a reasonable price and you will not be disappointed. There is a nice wine menu and the house wines are lovely also number 13 the rose wine is so easy to drink. Not forgetting the sangria which is served by the glass or pitch. They are currently extended upstairs where there is a separate room which when finished will be ideal for families or parties etc.
La Salsa – DarwenWe discovered this Indian Restaurant purely by chance. The main thing we noticed was it was full and most of the people eating there were Indian/Asian. Now, believing Indian people should know where to eat good Indian food we thought we would give it a go and were not disappointed. Firstly, there is no alcohol. Although I like a drink or two with my meal, please don't let this stop you! The delicious fruit juices and wide range of soft drinks, reasonably priced should more than make up for this!! Staff Friendly and attentive staff. Great service. Price Be pleasantly surprised at the cost of the dishes and the cost of soft drinks! Our average bill for 2 people has been around £40 which has included poppadoms, chutney, 3 x starters, 2 x curries (abhari chicken masala and a King Prawn Masala), a jug of fresh juice and a couple of bottles of diet coke (bottles, not draft). Check out their website for the full menu. You will be pleasantly surprised. Appearance / Presentation of food The food always looks and tastes fantastic. Its a rare treat to get starters that look as well presented as you would expect from a top class restaurant in London from the likes of Jamie Oliver but for a fraction of the price! Quality / Taste The quality of food is always good. Don't go here expecting what you would normally get from your after pub hours, curry house. Infact, don't go here expecting the same taste you would get at an Indian restaurant that caters for us Brits! The taste is tantalising different. I particularly like the Akbari Chicken Masala which is their version of Chicken Tikka Masala!! I generally don't like Lamb dishes but my friend ordered Lahori Gosht and the meat was so tender that it melted in my mouth!! Quantity / Value for Money If you want good quality food representing excellent value for money, friendly and attentive staff and a true taste of Indian cuisine then the Bhukara has it all. Atmosphere Arguably this is not the restaurant to go to if you want one that is full of English people, laughing, drinking with annoyingly loud music playing in the background. It does not sell alchohol so this may not be the place to go to if its a celebration or you want a party atmosphere, although they do have a room upstairs for parties... If you would prefer to have a glass of wine with your meal... they do offer a takeaway service... Location Great out of the way location. Plenty of free parking. Overall Great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. 10/10
Bukhara – PrestonWent here on Friday with a girlie friend. Lovely original decor and ambiance. The food (I had sea bass as a main) was excellent, as was the cocktail I had :) the lady staff were a bit less attentive than I would've liked, hey , never leave a lady with an empty wine glass!! But they were pleasant. The bartender man was very attentive, that may have been more to do with my attractive friend though LOL. I will definitely make a return.
Seasons – Chorleywent Friday night for a birthday party,15 of us,the restaurant was very busy ,but we was very well look after, everyone enjoyed a great night ,would recommend to any1
Alghero – ChorleyWe visited last night + as usual it was fantastic beautiful food friendly staff . If i had to say anything negative it would be there isn't much vegetarian options for main ? Still our favorite restaurant tho by far !!!!
Italian Orchard – PrestonCalypso is the new Caribbean restaurant to hit Blackburn town, the food is excellent the service is great and the atmosphere is very authentic if you enjoy good food and a welcoming and exciting environment then calypso is the place for you.
Calypso Restaurant – BlackburnI went to the Happy Village on a cold, damp Wednesday evening and loved every minute. The staff are friendly without being in your face all the time and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. My companion was a vegetarian and she was delighted with her meal and also the choice available. I devoured every course and forced down a dessert even though I was pretty full. A fantastic meal and thoroughly recommended restaurant.
Happy Village – ChorleyI HAD GONE THERE FOR A MEAEL AND THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD.THE SERVICE WAS ALSO UPTO THE MARK.THE OWNER OF THE PLACE IS ALWAYS THERE TO HELP YOU TO SELECT THE FOOD. SHOULD NOT MISS IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA.
The Elephant – ChorleyElaine We have been a few times know and the food is great very large serving's you know you been feed and that says a lot for my husband to be full . We come all the way from Bradford to go its a nice drive and good food every time.
Border Rose – Todmorden4 of us went here after a long sunday walk. As the weather was blustering outside, the warmth inside of that of the staff and the cosy surroundings, made it the perfect haven.. After initially having a drink... we eventually opted for some food... you can usually look around the place and if its quiet and people are tucking in, its usually a good sign. I went for the south african sausage baguette which was vet tasty, my friends shared a plate of the sausage with mash.. the plate devoured like a lion tucking into a springbok... even the baby was well catered for. Not by the lions that is. would recommend to anyone. With a good selection of local ales.. will be back
The Stork Inn – LancasterThe first thing about this place is the greeter, dressed like the soldiers on the india/pakistan border. The place is contemporary and hip. The food seems a level above the traditional curry houses I know. The only complaint would be that the staff seem very rigid in their roles, one for food and one for drinks etc. This lets down the front of house. When we were there lots of Asian customers dined too, which has got to be a good sign! Well worth a visit.
East Z East – PrestonI have been to the New Drop several times to lunch with relatives. While they love the place, I have to say the menu hasn't changed over the years and it would be nice if they could add some new dishes. Also more green vegetables with the main course would be nice.
Newdrop Inn – LongridgeHi all, Went to the britannia inn on haslingdon old rd at the weekend, where they have a new carvery station and and head chef who I was served by the food was great and the all staff were very polite definitely worth a visit!
Britannia Inn – Accringtonvisited the Welcome Restaurant Food okay felt pressurised all through the meal being watched by three waitresses.Only part of bill written in English is the amount, order written in Chinese ,would be helpful if both languages were used.Unable to check bill properly! Won't visit again or recommend the place.
