Haighton Manor Country House Hotel – PrestonWent for friends party ! :) Gorgeous food and very beautifully decorated place Loved It !
Aldo Due – BurnleyBrill. Good choice and range of buffet, not expensive and very friendly staff. Highly recommended
Oriental Buffet Restaurant – BurnleyThe location of this restaurant is its only downfall, however please do not let this put you off as the food is excellent. My partner and I decided to try La Salsa as we both love tapas and am sure we will be returning soon. The attraction was the price if im honest which was £7.95 per person for as many tapas as you can eat between 3pm and 7pm, and sometimes this can reflect on the standard of the food. I have to say that the food was delicious, extremely fresh and tasty. We were able to order up to four tapas each at a time and we eventually had 12 between us which included bread and olives. The portion sizes were just enough to share between two and the atmosphere was lovely as the candle on our table was lit as we sat down. This restaurant is best suited to couples and groups who would like a light meal as a start to their night out!
La Salsa – DarwenWent to Truffles for my 40th birthday with my hubby and enjoyed every aspect of it. The decor and ambience are superb, not to mention the lighting (which changes colour) The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The staff were courteous and attentive. The prices are very reasonable and the choice extensive. Went on the first time it opened on Monday a Monday night and will definitely be returning. Fabulous! Cant wait to try a gourmet evening.
Truffles – ChorleySaturday 17th January 2009 I took my girlfriend Cassy and her daughter Fran and boyfriend Dwain to Etna's for my birthday bash. I can only say the food and service were excellent and we will be paying another visit in the near future. The food was cooked to perfection, hot and well prepared. May I say thank you for making my birthday bash a night to remember. JJ
Etna Pizza Pasta – LancasterKnown locally as 'The Corper', this eighteenth-century stone inn was once home to workers constructing the nearby reservoir for the Preston Waterworks Company. These days, it thrives as a pub/restaurant in the capable hands of two families. The comfortable interior remains atmospherically traditional, and there's a spacious beer garden with views of the Ribble Valley and the reservoir. The menu has its share of wholesome North Country standards including Bury black pudding with onion marmalade and poached egg, Lancashire hotpot and warm toffee apple crumble tart, but it also spreads its wings for Thai fishcakes, meatballs in tomato sauce with tortillas, and three-bean goulash. Also check out the list of more ambitious specials, which might include roast monkfish on buttered spinach with roasted red pepper sauce. The owners also run the Corper Deli on Longridge Market Place.
Corporation Arms – PrestonMy wife and I have been going since it opened and have now been over 100 times. The staff, from the owner down are always very pleasant, friendly and efficient. The food is always excellent and the lager well kept. Absolutely brilliant, no faults at all.
Balti Stan – AccringtonMe and two friends ate here on January 16th 2009 and it was the best meal I have had anywhere near Chorley in years. I had hummus and pita bread to start, then the fillet steak stroganoff. Absolutely superb! The cocktails are lovely and reasonably priced (and potent!). The only down side is the service is not very attentive. Drinks took a while to arrive, and we had to ask twice to see a dessert menu (having to get up to find a waitress). But it WAS full, so they were doing their best. Cannot fault the food, lovely intimate atmosphere. Really lovely.
Seasons – ChorleyAmazing leek and potato soup hhhmmmm! in quaint rustic surroundings.
Bashall Barn – ClitheroeOne of our favourite restaurants in the area : you can always rely on the quality of the food and the warmth of the welcome. A fantastic place.
La Locanda Ristorante Italiano – ClitheroeMy family and I are semi regular diners at San Marco and it is our restaurant of choice. We have only had one average meal there (everyone has an off night) the rest being rated as superb. Dining ambience, service, food and wines are just simply the best. We have to travel past two Italians to get there, but why would you go anywhere else. *****
Trattoria San Marco – Prestonhaven't been for a few months as the atmosphere since the owner left has been awful, the food was dire and its a shame the thriving little business was slowly being driven into the ground its heart left with ian and it turned into a business instead of a home from home that it was, bring it back up to what it was and we may just come back.
Windmill Hotel – BlackburnI've been to lots of restaurants in this area and this is really the best Indian! We read the reviews on this site beforehand and were intrigued to hear about what Ccc@c had to say about the Jalfrazi. My hubby is a bit of a connisieur when it comes to Indian food (he's Indian and used to be a chef back in India!) and said he wanted to try it, because with one style of cooking, a truly authentic jalfrazi is actually quite green . And thus, Hubby had the jalfrazi and I had the Murgi Begum Bahar. My dish was fantastic and was really good for me because I can only have mild curries and it was perfect! As for the jalfrazi it appears they've changed it as it was just normal curry colour ( a dark brown) , but my husband absolutely LOVED it! The staff are so friendly and nice, and they bend backwards making sure everything is okay. A really really fantastic night out.
Shajan – BlackburnWhat a fabulous restaurant Nino's is. I had Oysters to start which were beautiful, comparable even to the ones I had in the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station, NYC just not as expensive. The menu selection is well varied and the food is just beautiful with a large range of wines, the staff are friendly and efficient. I eat mainly in the city centre but am now going to venture further afield to visit Nino's more often. I would definitely recommend it to all.
Nino’s Rawtenstall – RawtenstallIm not a big lover of Chinese food, take it or leave it really, until now!!! I visited the Beijing with friends over Christmas and believe me it was absolutely fantastic.!!! The staff are very friendly, nice atmosphere and the food is simply amazing!!! I'm going again in a couple of weeks. Try it, if your disappointed I'll pay for your meal myself!!!
Beijing Restaurant – BurnleyI visited the bulls head in Wilpshire for a family meal over the weekend. The bland average pub food was not nearly as disappointing as the service. We were served our main course BEFORE our starters had even arrived! Then re-served them cold after we had eaten the starters. Staff were rude and unhelpful, very disappointing indeed.
