I have been here several times over the last 18 months and I can confidently state we have always had very good food. We don't have very much in the way of good food pubs in my neck of the woods (Crosby, Merseyside) and we regularly travel to the Ribble Valley for a day out and some great food. Our favourite place by far is the Red Pump Inn and we have tried them all in the area (whitewell too crowded with wedding guests, 3 fishes over-rated and the new Eagle in Barrow just ok)! We are a family of 5, eldest 18, youngest 6 and we very much like good food and we always get this at the Red Pump. My husband and I are going to stay overnight and treat ourselves for our anniversary; we can't think of a better place to spend it. The Ribble Valley is beautiful and the red Pump is just perfect; Ribble folk are very lucky. Thanks.

Dined at the weekend, WOW!! A fantastic new menu so innovative, fresh and just amazing. We were told the chef had changed and you could tell, congrats to him! The chick pea burger was yummy, and the whole fresh fish of the day (bream) was the best fish i've had in a long time! I think this new chef is about to put Darwen on the map!!!

I have eaten here more times than I can remember. I just love it because it's in a great location and the atmosphere is great you feel like you are on holiday especially when its sunny and the view is superb on a clear day. plus the prices are so reasonable.

Very, very ordinary. A Gordon Ramsey check--out is needed here. Garlic bread too soft. Pasta overcooked and completely covered with a basic sauce. The soup was over-laden with a vinegar taste. Tony piece of monk fish at a high price. Very naff condiments on the table. Had to ask for parmesan cheese! Waiters very pleasant but untrained. No surprise the restaurant was almost empty on a Friday evening. The management needs a wake-up call.

we have been to truffles twice and both times the food was excellent. this restaurant doesn't seem that well known, i can't think why, as the food and venue is great.

Just returned from P & P and the food was to die for ! portion sizes more than generous, service excellent, no complaints

called at tinos after my daughters graduation and would highly recommend this as one of the best italian restaurants ive been to this would get 4 aaaa in my books sorry its to far to come to from oldham service /food/restaurant/excellent

Went there last night and a a lovely meal, although it was unusually busy for midweek owing to the plethora of Teachers dining there after the end of term break up! Despite waiting 10- 15 mins our table staff were polite, warm and courteous and i could not fault the food TIP- Try the Sardinian Pasta

Top class food, Top class service - Top class restaurant !!! Will definitely be back and have spread the word !!! Its nice to have a beautiful restaurant at long last near Leyland

Excellent Steak and kidney pudding with a lovely House Rose. Service was very good from the very young front of house staff.

Superb restaurant, cannot recommend it highly enough! Menu choice is fantastic as are the specials. Brilliant for a celebration with a large group or with a partner. Would advise to book Fri/Sat as does get very very busy.

good food but I didn't like the place felt like I was in a gold fish bowl

Overpriced and not that great a quality - Loud Music blaring out over the car park as you arrive is not the most inviting! - Waitress forgot the milk for a cup of tea - TWICE - despite actually picking it up - obviously 6 people were too much to handle!

Etnas holds a special place in our hearts - we had our first real date here - we always enjoy visiting, the staff are 1st class professionals without being too over the top - the owner is a true delight always willing to chat to all the customers! - The food is the ultimate delight and is always consistent as well as fairly priced. To recommend a dish isn't too difficult - Lemon Chicken everytime. Incidentally we now visit at least once a month - its a shame they can't cater for our wedding!

Usually call in at lunchtimes,when in Preston.Staff very friendly and welcoming.Food always well cooked and extremely tasty.Will make the trip from Blackpool next week to try the evening menu.I am sure we will not be disappointed.A little gem worth trying.

Went to the restaurant after recommendation from a friend, food was excellent, extensive wine list, service was excellent and was busy with a good atmosphere for a Tuesday evening. Would recommend to anyone and will certainly be visiting again! Menu has just been changed (July 09) and prices lowered slightly... more than worth the drive out......

Me and my gf recently visited Francos. The food was quite good, service very good and the price was no problem at all. However, if you want that WOW factor I wouldn't recommend - tables were very close to each other so not intimate at all. Not a patch on one or two other Italians in the area.Francos is good but nothing amazing.

Can't go round with Alghero's. Great food and lovely atmosphere.
