Fantastic place, fantastic food and fantastic people
The Golden Lion – MorecambeAnother first class meal again at the plough. Staff are excellent. Good selection of beers and malt whiskeys. We will be back.
Plough Inn – ChorleyGood food, nice and cosy ambience, friendly staff and not expensive. Try the coffee there! Also has a pleasant garden for the nicotine addicts or for the shinny summer days.
The Cafe Bar – PrestonI have dined at this restaurant on a number of occasions now and the food has always been excellent, however you didn’t always get the best service and on a visit a few weeks ago the service was terrible, we vowed never to step foot in the Kings Arms again but seen as the food is always so great we decided to give it one last go and I am really glad I did!!!! We had a warm welcome on arrival and showed to our table by a very nice happy lady…..slightly confused why we were being treated so well she advised us that they had only just taken over so maybe this explains the bad service we had been given before???? If you have been to this restaurant before and didn’t like the service you must try it again, the food is excellent and very good value for money….we will be back!! Thank you for a lovely evening!!!!!!
The Kings Arms – CarnforthWe recently attended a Wedding Reception at Truffles (29/11/08). The food was superb, both at the main wedding reception and during the evening reception. The service was excellent and James, the proprietor/chef, came around personally to see if everyone was happy with their meal. He certainly had no complaints! On the menu was smoked salmon, fresh salmon, a chicken dish and many more - and the starters and desserts were fantastic. We would certainly visit again.
Truffles – Chorley29th November, had dreadful experience at this place. Seated an hour late and only then because we asked about what was happening. Starters came one was ok,but only ok the other was cold- not what you expect from mushrooms in sauce. Sent it back, came back still cold. Glass of wine ordered, wrong one came. Mains - ok but carrots cold. Won't repeat the experience. Daughter went on previous occasion, stroganoff running with blood but we thought that anyone can have a bad night but it seems this is the norm
The Halfway House – ChorleyWhat a fantastic restaurant - excellent service and the food is very fresh and tasty. I would recommend trying the garlic nan bread and for people who like it hot try the Naga. (at last a 'hot' curry that also has flavours) Would recommend trying this restaurant.
Sylhet – Blackburnwe went on Saturday night and i was less than impressed!! we had to wait for our table even though we had booked. One of the waiters was very surly and was quite rude to me. the food was average, and quite overpriced for what it was. My boyfriend found a great big long hair in his steak which was a little off putting and they did change it although no apologies were offered. We were seated in the conservatory area which was nice whilst the radiators were on but halfway through our meal they went off and it went very cold. All in all, i think its safe to say we won't be visiting there again!
Alghero – Chorley5 stars for Lasalsa Restaurant in bolton. I been spain few times but honestly i have not had so tasty tapas else where and the price is just peanuts but the quality of food and the management is second to none. will recommend. ++++ .
La Salsa – DarwenI recently attended Bar 1725 with a group of 6 friends, this meal was looked forward to as all of us had previously enjoyed tapas meals. We began to be a bit dubious after hearing reviews from others, and all I can say is that we were right to be dubious! First of all they tried to fit 7 people around a table that would just about fit 6. We all ordered our food and despite efforts to order together for the same table the staff flitted between others waiting and didn't put our order through at the same time. The food came out in dribs and drabs, a friend of mine had actually finished his whole meal before I was even served! You'd think they'd have the common sense to work out that at a table of 7 bring the orders out near to each other! The food was poor, the potatoes were undercooked and crunchy, 4 people had ordered bread, only to be told half way through waiting for the meal that they did not have any, I was looking forward to the bread as well, it might have actually felt like I'd eaten something. In addition to this they also confused the order and failed to bring out 4 dishes until we queried it, there response: oh, well you should have ordered everything together. (I was so annoyed at this as we had tried but the staff were very unhelpful) We seriously considered not paying for this atrocious meal, and I would not recommend the restaurant.
1725 – LancasterI recently dined at Penny Street Bridge and I would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Lancaster. The food was very good, still hot when it was served and perfectly cooked,to be honest I struggled to finish it all (I did have a 3 course meal though) The staff were friendly and helpful and not at all intrusive only asking once if the meal was ok, this is one of my pet hates at restaurants and I was glad to say the staff were excellent. We were also quickly served at the bar, when purchasing drinks prior to our meal. I would recommend this restaurant
Toll House Inn – Lancaster4 of us went here on a Friday night to celebrate a birthday. We knew it was going to be a bit more expensive than your usual Chinese but it was worth every penny. The food was delicious and much lighter than your normal Chinese , there wasn't a thick batter on everything. The wine list is very good and the waiters were exceptional with topping our glasses, none of us ever had an empty glass (that might account for our sore heads the day after!) My friend has a serious allergy and the Manager came over to go through the menu with her. I have read some reviews on other sites from people who found this place pretentious but I didn't get that vibe at all, all the staff were friendly, and all customers were having a good time and there was a lively atmosphere.Overall we had a brilliant night , and will definitely be back
Yu And You – Blackburnno complaints for this restaurant. go occasionally, food is excellent! brilliant for special occasions. staff are very friendly which makes your meal so much better! i'd recommend this restaurant to anyone
Mangiamo – DarwenHey its Mr Tony here probably Aldo s longest customer. Been going to Aldo s for over 10 years now from when it was called GIGI S. Its the finest food around esp for veggies like me and Aldo is a bi softie
Aldo Due – Burnleyit is a really good restaurant. And excellent value for money the food is excellent and lots to choose from recommend for a evening meal. x
Oriental Buffet Restaurant – BurnleyABSOLUTELY RUBBISH, THE SALMON WAS DRIED UP,. THE CHEAP VEGETABLES WERE OVERCOOKED AND TASTELESS, IT IS A "2 FOR £10". NEED I SAY MORE.....?
Yarrow Bridge Inn – ChorleyI recently visited this restaurant after many recommendations from friends and family. Although the food was pleasant I was not impressed by the service. Our party of 5 were sat in the corner next to the door, which was constantly being opened by people picking up their takeaway or by the diners. Our waiter promptly came over once we were seated to take our order. The starters came within 10 minutes and I must admit the food was very good. After we had finished our starters, the table was cleared and are main courses were given to us. In both instances the waiters were quite quick, however once our main courses were served, their promptness came to an end. We had wanted to order some more naan and some rice but couldn't attract the attention of the waiter to do so. They never came over to see if our meal was alright, nor did they ask if we needed anything else. In the end we gave up and eventually managed to get someone to give us our bill. I would recommend this restaurant for the food but the service really let them down. If you're visiting this restaurant, I'd make sure you go with plenty of time on your hands!
Bukhara – PrestonBooked for 11 people for a colleagues birthday luckily we rang before we set off as we needed to amend the table to 12 instead of 11. They had booked us in the for the 7th November instead of the 14th November. Luckily we had rang beforehand. So my recommendations is get them to confirm the date as they clearly haven't got a clue about bookings ? Very angry as we were all looking forward to eating here as we dine at the three fishes quite regular. New staff need more training maybe????????????????
