Amazing Sunday roast today at the Assheton Arms!
Assheton Arms – ClitheroeHave visited a couple of times lately, had the mussels which were a disgrace ,supermarket mussels all shells and what you could find tiny. The whole meal was a big disappointment .Have been numerous times over the years and feel the meals have steadily gone downhill.
Longlands Hotel and Restaurant – CarnforthAah it's really good.Nice decor, good atmosphere and the food is good!! And loads of cocktails!!
Turtle Bay – PrestonOh I do like this place
Turtle Bay – PrestonWe are a group of four who have gone out together every week for years. would recommend you give it a try. It's never disappointed, and we are fussy! Home made food that's fantastic hot and service second to none. And not just that but a fantastic price.
Ferrari’s Country House Hotel and Restaurant – LongridgeSENSIBLY PRICED QUALITY FOOD WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE.
Bistro 197 – BurnleyExcellent food - amazing level of service. If you haven't eaten here your missing out on a good curry! Chips are addictive and curries superb. Best takeaway in Blackburn joe and family x
Shandar Tandoori Takeaway – BlackburnAbsolutely stuffed ourselves here. Great food and atmosphere!
Burgers N Bibs at Boston Brothers – PrestonVery disappointing, my wife and I were there for a special occasion and the food was Ok. However there seemed to be mouse droppings on the floor and when I mentioned it they ignored it.
Legh Arms – PrestonI have been quite frequently since it has reopened and I love it, it has a very friendly atmosphere, clean and very welcoming. The food is top rate and very good value for money. I cant wait until my next visit!
The Alston – LongridgeThe Fenwick now has rooms so we thought we would stay over with our dog. Bit of shopping in Lancaster, walking at the Crook O Lune, sightseeing in Kirkby Lonsdale and of course a fine meal back at the pub. A belting overnight stay. Lovely large room a very hearty breakfast. However the main event was the meal which was first class with excellent menu choices from a unique menu. Cheese and haddock Pie and a tuna steak for me. My partner had white fish and a Cape Town curry. All in all we were very impressed.
The Fenwick Arms – LancasterReally first class coffee with a pastrami and cheese sandwich and a fine cake to soak it up. Great venue with a very pleasant vibe.
Priory Hall – LancasterMunchtime at The Malthouse Farm for new years day lunch. Loverly!
The Malthouse Farm – ChorleyFantastic food - I've been many times with family and with friends. This is a very different type of Chinese food, a very clean taste, no gloopy sources. The staff are fantastic and will tell you if you have ordered too much, which is unusual. The decor is quite plain which is not a problem, the place is spotlessly clean and the price is good. I absolutly recommend the Cherry House
The Cherry House – OrmskirkFirst time back since the refurb. Very impressed .Alas the set menu was a real disappointment. My starter of goats cheese and beetroot was so miserly I had finished before my hubby had seasoned his soup .Two teaspoon sized pieces of cheese and one less than an inch sized piece of pear. The rest was squiggles of sauce on the plate. His soup was okay but had one long stringy bit of ham in it ,which he couldn't cut .The turkey dinner main was okay, the veg was nicely cooked and hot 2 sprouts each ,the stuffing was one tiny slice,no chipolatas but nice gravy.Didn't dare risk the sweet course but the coffee was very good. Hubby likes his red wine but I was driving ,so asked for a small glass of white, not dry.It is the first time ever I have sent back wine,it was sour.It was changed, with not much said and I enjoyed the replacement. Sorry but we won't be back ,had to have sweet and cheese course at home .
The Lark Hill Restaurant at the Oak Royal Golf and Country Club – ChorleyWhat a lovely afternoon was had by all our party aboard the Search for Santa Magical Cruise. Myself, mother, niece and great nephew thoroughly enjoyed the trip and all of us got to meet Santa and his elves and we also had a visit from Olaf (the snowman from Frozen). We were served mulled wine and mince pies and all the children received two presents from Santa after we found him along the canal. Thank you to all at Canal Boat Cruises for the best visit Santa I have ever been to.
Canal Boat Cruises – Romance Restaurant Boat – PrestonLast reviews cannot believe. Fish fab chunky white haddock great batter nice chips best have had in along time. Will be going again.
Mother Hubbards – BlackburnWent a few days after opening, the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. Asked for Fish, Chips and Peas. 'Can I put the peas in a carton, as it will leak from a thin cardboard container' Why not put the whole lot in a polystyrene tray, as they were clearly visible. The fish was awful, very strong tasting and soggy. It was haddock, we prefer Cod. Surely, they should have an alternative than just Haddock. The chips were ok, as were the peas. But nothing special. Was looking forward, to restaurant quality Fish and Chips without having to go out of the area. Sadly not, 2 stars at the most.
