The Secret Bistro – LancasterWe visited Shajan last night and although the food was acceptable the overall experience was somewhat underwhelming. The restaurant is clearly popular but for my mind far too many people are packed in to far too small a space. There are too many waiters dashing around the place, tables are too close together and the ambiance is claustrophobic. The overall impression is one of being on a conveyor belt and no sooner you settle than the feeling of being moved on sets in.
Shajan – BlackburnMy wife and I had an excellent meal in the Duke of York a couple of weeks ago. The menu was interesting and imaginative and the food was cooked to perfection, with outstanding flavours and quality. The wine list complimented the menu perfectly with a good range to suit all tastes and pockets. It is well worth a visit and one of the best places to eat in the Ribble Valley.
Duke of York – ClitheroeA truly unique venue, delicious meal was had by all of us and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The seafood in particular was very well cooked and presented beautifully the scallops and fillet a good combination of flavours. We shall most definitely be back soon, to have even more sangria
Duk-Pond – PrestonWhat a lovely authentic family run restaurant with pizzas to die for. Great service, great food, great price! And yoou take taake your own booze in(for £1.50-£1.80)! Thanks Olga for a nice experience. Enjoy Austria
Godfather Pizza House – Darwenvery poor service, regular's seem to be the most important. 15 minutes waiting to order then had to re-order drinks ( not good ) food just as good as any other chinese poor evening, will not return go over the road to the royal instead.
Trungs Restaurant – CarnforthNew Deli Cafe Bar at No1 George street in Whalley. The perfect place to buy your fresh bread and deli products followed by a fabulous italian coffee. Little Italy comes to Little Whalley. You can dine in or take the deli products away. worth seeing
Benedicts of Whalley – ClitheroeFantastic chips, best by far in the area !!
T’Other Chippy – Carnforthwent to fat olive wednesday 26 may 2010, for an early bird tea, the staff were very friendly and the food and service was excellent, would recommend this restaurant and will certainly go again. thanks
Fat Olive – Ormskirkhad the sunday buffet here 3 or 4 times now.the food is exceptional,as is the service.never seen it that busy though.not been on a fri/ sat night though! a quality place for a nice meal & few drinks.always looked after us. give it a whirl.
Aroma Asian – BurnleyVisited on a whim for lunch after driving past. I think the place has only recently had a refurb, as the entrance in was very confusing. A bar at the front, with some tables/chairs and then a restaurant behind where the plastering hadn't even been finished. It took the staff a while to recognise we were waiting for a table and there seemed no system for greeting customers. We were seated at the back, in a corner. The restaurant was dingy, needed the lights on despite the sunny weather. We ordered and endured a 40 minute wait for our good. Considering it was basic pub grub there was no reason for the wait - and we weren't the only ones in that boat, there were plenty of other hungry looking diners around the restaurant. The service was poor, there were plenty of staff but they seemed unsure and it lacked someone with strong front of house management skills. When the food came it was good, apart from a roast beef sandwich that was more butter than beef. My partner had a burger, which was good with a giant onion ring. It was an average meal at a restaurant/pub that needs to decide what it wants to be.
The New Scarisbrick Restaurant – OrmskirkWent for a curry with my girlfriend after hearing good things about Bangla Fusion. We had a friendly greeting and were seated with menus and drinks to decide what to have to eat. The surroundings are great for this, lots of comfy sofas. We were taken to our table and enjoyed some poppadoms and skipped straight to the mains. I had an Aje-Baje - chicken tikka - with a naan bread. It was the right amount of spice for me. Girlfriend had a fusion dish, with a spicy salmon with rice. Portions were excellent, service friendly and the price reasonable. Didn't realise they did a special offer on a Sunday between 1 PM 0 6 PM with three courses for around £12. Bargain! A good restaurant, in the running for an F-word nomination and a jewel in the crown of Lancashire's restaurant scene.
Nellie The Elephant – PrestonFantastic service. Great night out!
Agra Indian Restaurant – BurnleyI dined here last night for my birthday, there were nine of us and we had had a room to ourselves. The service was excellent as was the quality and presentation of the food. I have no hesitation in recommending Amelies to anyone wanting a superb dining experience.
Amelies – ChorleyMe and my husband return to this restaurant again and again as you really feel at home and always feel welcomed by the staff there. The food is excellent and is good value for money as the portions are big. Would always recommend this restaurant to anyone. The restaurants ambience and surroundings really make you feel as if you are on holiday!!!!!!
Amico Mio – ClitheroeI dined here with friends on 1 April and the meal was as usual top class. We have been here a number of times and have always been looked after exceptionally by the staff and the food has always been superb.
Amelies – ChorleyFantastic, what more can I say! Been twice now and both times the food was incredible, thoughtful but not over the top presentation and lots of distinct and full flavours and textures, all cooked to perfection. Lovely staff and chef remembered us from the last time! I actually loved the sorbet so much I could have eaten that as a standalone desert! However, the sorbet was pipped to the post by the most delicious and tasty dessert I've ever eaten - the amazing sticky toffee pudding! I'm not usually a dessert man, but it was so good I could have eaten about ten of them! Please, please, please don't ever take that off the menu!
Truffles – ChorleyAmazing im going there for my birthday fave restaurant of all time
