Tinos – PrestonOn the whole the meals were good and well presented. All this in very pleasant surroundings. The evening we were there, maybe because they were busy,we found the service a little bit lacking. Perhaps also where the meals were concerned and for the price of the meat dishes another bowl of vegetables would not have gone amiss. Only one was given for three meals Generally though far better than your average
Plough At Eaves – PrestonThe staff were very good and the atmosphere was lovely. The food looked very nice, but unfortunately it tasted very bland. It was very expensive for what it was and we would be reluctant to go again unless we hear of better reviews,
Frankie and Bennys – BlackburnI'm afraid I can't comment on much else as we did not stay long enough. We were kept waiting for 15 minutes past our booking time without being offered drinks, then told we'd have to hurry when ordering our food as they had lots of tables coming in. The waiter argued with us and the manager told us to leave without hearing our side, absolutely disgusting treatment.
Spaghetti House Restaurant – LancasterMany visits to Casa Tapas and I have decided to post my first review ever on a restaurant. I have been here many times and seen the transformation as the owners have constantly improved the surroundings. The food quality has never changed its excellent. The new bar area, and decor has transformed this restaurant as the place to be - great fun , great music and so nice to meet many friends the regulars - but its not clicky - I would have no hesitation in recommending Casa Tapas you will need to book on a Friday and Saturday as the place fills up very quickly
Casa Tapas – RawtenstallBooked a meal on a Saturday night when a artist was on. Given a table near the entrance and had to shout to hold a conversation. Table was 45 min late. Meal was very late coming, given garlic bread as apology for them forgetting our order, but our appetite was nearly gone. Asked for sweet menu waited 20 mins and asked again, manager blamed waitress. We were given drinks to compensate but it was too late by then night was ruined. Wrote letter to complain but didnt even receive a reply. If you are determined to go here book a early table away from the entrance if there is a artist on.
The Halfway House – ChorleyAfter a good recomendation from a family member,we decided to visit the Original Farmers Arms on Sun 9th Sept. Unfortunatly we found the evening very dissapointing. Although we were earlier than we had booked we were available to be seated and order. However one of the starters ordered was not exactly what was imagined (tiger prawns that looked like ordinary large prawns). Although the main courses were nice, one was slightly wrong to what was ordered and the other needed to be re-cooked. After a ten minute wait since the mains and waiting for a waitress to take the orders of desserts and coffees with no success, we decided to pay the bill and leave. We are sorry to give this bad report, but this is a true reflection on how we felt about the evening.
Original Farmers Arms – ChorleyThis pub has gone downhill fast. Up until my recent visit in late June 2007, I was recommending it to my friends but afterwards had quickly to go round and warn them against it. It was service without a smile; no please or thankyou, minimum conversation and little if any eye contact. The drinks were overpriced and the cutlery was literally thrown on to the table as the waitress rushed by.The prawn piri piri, which I chose from the specials board, consisting of the minutest of prawns swimming around in a watery concoction which could hardly be called a sauce and served alongside a tablsepoonful of limp salad. My friend had chosen a sausage with cheese melt on a baguette which was equally obnoxious. We left without ordering a desert and won't be returning. What a shame! The surroundings are beautiful, the village picturesque and the pub full of charm..... unlike the proprietors. Don't go there.
Assheton Arms – Clitheroemixed feelings i've been dining at the Spread Eagle at Sawley for years over the past five years and its been more times then good when i've been NEEDS TO IMPROVE!!!
Spread Eagle – ClitheroeExcellent simple Indian food served by usual friendly staff. Bring your own bottle is a bonus and adds to the simplicity of this place. Very Good Dan Liverpool
Morecambe Tandoori Restaurant – MorecambeMy friends and I always leave Breda's feeling that we've had a real treat - gorgeous food, spotlessly clean, modern but cosy atmosphere and decent service at a reasonable price -what more could you want?
Breda Murphy Restaurant – ClitheroeFantastic, well sourced food. Imaginative recipes. Cakes to die for!! Don't miss this little gem tucked away in Whalley!
Breda Murphy Restaurant – ClitheroeAfter reading the recommendations of La Salsa thought I would give it try. On the evening of our visit a large party were also eating, i think they struggled to accommodate this ,as myself and my partner were left waiting . Having said this , they did redeem the slow service by the really fresh tasty food, the atmosphere was friendly, overall I would recommend a visit. If a Tapas takes your fancy give La Salsa a go. Lets support local small restaurants , rather than the mass produced versions claiming to be Tapas.
La Salsa – DarwenI went last month with my family and it was excellent. Great value for money, I will definitely be going back.
Windmill Hotel – BlackburnWe love this place! All u can eat for 1 price! Food always very good. Would Recommend!
Buffet@Preston – PrestonIt is not very often that you can visit a place for the first time and feel so welcome and relaxed. My wife and i are regular diners and have eaten at many different venues. We were recommended to visit the Yew Tree at Heath Charnock by several friends who had been for a recent birthday treat. We arrived and were made to feel wanted and the ambience and atmosphere was excellent. My wife commented on how nice the finishing touches were and how clean the ladies toilets are. The food was as good as i have ever eaten - the starters, main courses and desserts were faultless. Congratulations to everyone at the Yew Tree -we shall be back very soon.
Yew Tree Inn – ChorleyMy Husband and I went to the Beaumont for the first time on our friends recommendation... and what a transformation. The food was fantastic we both choose different things to have a taste of one anothers and every single mouthful was divine. From starter to dessert nothing could be faulted. Great customer service. the Cask ale was perfect and the wine menu had plenty of choice all at reasonable prices it's always hard to find good places to eat and now we have found the Beaumont it won't be long before we're back again! Keep up the good work you're all doing a great job.
