Excellent food and service rarely bettered
Calfs Head – ClitheroeFantastic food after a long walk. Service impeccable, food cooked perfectly and great to see the use of local produce. Couldn't be better.
The Highwayman – Kirkby LonsdaleMeagre portions for the price paid . Pub grub- at restaurant prices . Staff- very pretty to look at- but seems to be without experience . Good points - Cask beer very good - plenty of parking .
The Beaumont – ChorleyA perfect (long) lunch venue, outstanding value for the quality, flavour and presentation of the food you are served. Unlike other restaurants their 'set' lunch menu food quality is not compromised despite being at a cost of less than you can pay in some pubs. Relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, real log fires, just perfect.
Northcote – BlackburnWent to Dante's for the first time a couple of weeks ago with some girlfriends and we were very impressed. The service and the food were excellent the staff were extremely friendly and very attentive. Well worth a visit, going again on Sat with some friends.
The Halfway House – ChorleyAbsolutely excellent food and beautiful room (we had the Tap room, 18th and 19th August)couldn't fault anything and particularly liked the heart shaped fried bread with the superb breakfast.....typifies the humour of the hosts, who deserve a major award for turning this place around!
The Red Pump Inn – ClitheroeWe eat at the blue elephant once a week and the food is amazing, there is something for everyone, even for the ppl who say they dont enjoy spicy food : )
The Elephant – ChorleyWent with friends on their recommendation. We travelled a fair way but it certainly was worth the trip. Everything was faultless. Will certainly return. despite the travel.
Shaw Hill Hotel, Golf and Country Club – ChorleyTHE BEST
Alghero – ChorleyThe food and service at this restaurant is of very high quality. There are a number of waiters with a great knowledge, polite and a good smile.well spoken Boss, who shared his great knowledge of food and his 25+ years in the tread! The setting and location is unbeatable. I would highly recommend this place to someone who likes Indian food. Smith & Friends
Agra Indian Restaurant – BurnleyGosh, reading the other reviews I feel a real party pooper. We came for supper during a weeks' break in the region and I wasn't that impressed with the place. Very very busy and touristy but with a very good buzzy atmosphere which the kids loved (as did the millions of other kids there!. Menu a little uninspiring and I settled on fish and chips which was good but left me feeling a little bored. Kids meals good but we have visited better places in the area that deserve a little more airplay than the Three Fishes currently enjoys.
The Three Fishes – ClitheroeA very nice surprise on a wet (soaking actually) summers day. Superb sesame tempura calamari with soy dip, meltingly delicious Ribeye steak and a super berry pannacota for me; the significant other had duck and rabbit terrine, excellent whole seabass baked in parchment with gingery vegetables and followed by liquorice ice cream. We were supposed to go for a walk on Longridge Fell and decided to just look at it instead from the gardens at The Red Pump Inn with another glass of Merlot. Absolutely spot on, didn't even know the place existed, but will return.
The Red Pump Inn – ClitheroeI too have visited la salsa on two occasions sine it opened ,like Jayne the first time we took ou own drinks, the service was excellent, i am going again On Friday 25 august with a few friends, and i have no doubt it will be just as excellent. It is much better than la tasca for us.
La Salsa – DarwenVery impressed, one of the best Indian Meals I've eaten.
The Elephant – ChorleyWE have been here many times and have always liked the ambience, the food and the service. It really is a special location and the quality of the food is consistently good BUT BUT the portions are minimal. What could have been a super meal was spoilt by the tiny amount of food hidden under the salad. After lunch we went to home to satisfy our hunger.
Spread Eagle – ClitheroeI stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and it was absolutely fantastic. The prices are incredibly cheap - I had a beautiful pasta carbonara for lunch for £1.95! I had to check with the waitress it wasn't just a starter at that price - but it came and it was beautiful and a large main portion! All the food I saw come out looked really tasty and of a generous serving! I thought the service was excellent, particularly with the larger parties in there. I just felt bad when my bill after a huge, beautiful lunch was only £3.15! And they also did set menus at about £5-6 for lunch and £12 for dinner. Brilliant!
Left Bank Brasserie – OrmskirkI love the Valley Cantonese, the food is fantastic and the service is second to none. You are always welcomed no matter how rushed they are, and their take away food is by far the best this side of Manchester.
Valley Cantonese – RawtenstallThe food, atmosphere and quality is second to none. The staff are very good the manager is rather dishy and very attentive. Well he is Italian!!!
