Trattoria San Marco – Prestongood food and good service good value for money. i would be happy to recommend this restaurant
Parmesan And Pepper – ChorleyWe thought we'd check this place out as a potential venue for my father's forthcoming 70th birthday celebration. We expected great things, it coming from the same stable as Italian Orchard and Pinocchios. What a disappointment. The food was lovely but only adequate for the rather expensive prices. The service was appalling, again, disappointing. The first bill that arrived was wrong - coming to a whopping £89 for 2! We queried it - the waiter even implied that he didn't believe us - and the second attempt was wrong also. Having approached the desk by now - we eventually got it down to £75. Still expensive considering the standard of food & service received. The manager was summoned but only offered apologies for our disappointment, no 'encouragement' to return and give them another chance. They will not be getting another penny from me, nor my family who were quite keen for the party to take place there.
Trattoria San Marco – PrestonI went to buffet @ Preston two weeks ago for the first time and i must say i was far from impressed! The atmosphere was colder than McDonalds or even a dentist surgery. The soup was cold and when my friend told one of the depressed looking staff they discovered that the soup kettle wasn't even switched on at the plug! i didn't eat mine. We then went for our main course and found that the food was roughly body temperature, not good. These people are serving chicken and prawns at an extremely dangerous temperature! If environmental health took the time to visit this restaurant and probe the supposedly hot food they would shut the place down on the spot! Rest assured i will not be visiting again. I am shocked that we didn't come down with food poisoning. Awful.
Buffet@Preston – PrestonI have enjoyed many meals at Calves Head restaurant. I enjoy the food and location so much I have booked my wedding reception. The staff are friendly and always attentive.
Calfs Head – ClitheroeHave i been to the same place? The food served was "take away" quality at best - the price is OK if you make sure you eat your fill. Service I found to be rude, you walk in and told "upstairs", in essence you're treated as part of a production line. They get you in and get you out as soon as possible. And as for treating kids well. I went in with my baby daughter (18 months) and was approached by a presume a manager (he was wearing a suit) who just pointed at my daughter and said "she has to pay"!!!!! I was so shocked, I never thought or asked if she would be free - i should have left but i have never been back.
Buffet@Preston – PrestonThe best indian food i have ever had. I first bought my take away when they opened and even though i have now moved out of Blackburni still travel to Roe Lee Indian. The food is hot, and very tasty. The staff are great and you can see the food being cooked while you wait.Would recommend to anyone.
Roe Lee Indian Takeaway – BlackburnThe best Indian restaurant i have ever been to and i enjoyed the food .The service was excellent the staff were spot on. The presentation was brilliant,i enjoyed the chicken korahi, the curry was very tasty, the curry was presented to me in a unique way. keep up the good work and i will see you in a few days.
Balti House – BlackburnWe go regularly and the staff who work there get friendlier every time. it makes us feel comfortable. the range of food is fantastic, with so many different options. its the best place in the Lancashire for all you can eat buffet, i would recommend to everyone...
Buffet@Preston – PrestonBooked a table on the first weekend it opened and thoroughly enjoyed the selection that was available from the food and wine menus. We go regularly, at least twice a month and have a meal (with a bottle of wine to complement) Would also recommend the beef strips also - but make sure you have a glass of water to go with them as the plate has plenty on. Also I enjoy the prawn toast on many occasions. The staff are very courteous and always give a warm welcome. Glad to see many more people enjoying the delight when we went in on a Saturday night a few weeks ago - only just managed to get a table - however the service was just as efficient as usual.
Jade Gardens – AccringtonWe ate at Casa Tapas last night - early because it was fully booked. It was extremely good. We had about 12 dishes & although 4 or 5 were tomato based they each had a distinct flavour. The staff were all friendly & helpful & the atmosphere relaxing. We've been here often since it opened & never been disappointed.
Casa Tapas – RawtenstallTop marks as usual!
Italian Orchard – PrestonWe go to Mangiamos often and absolutely love it. The food is always excellent, great value for money on the kids menu at £4.95 per child. The atmosphere is busing and the waiters are always friendly. Its the best Italian in this area by far.
Mangiamo – DarwenWicked place! Right by the canal. Great food.
Vedas – TodmordenRestaurant is lovely.A very Good selection of starters which all seemed good. The usuall choice of mains with some surprising colours in comparison to other restaurant. My friends Jalfrezi was very green and quite mild to taste. We did mention that it was quite mild and as he had said when taking our order that Jal means hot we thought it would be hotter, The gentlemen would not accept that it was mild and kept saying dont say it is mild. They did bring out another one but by this point we had all finished. Some of the rices did all taste the same and looked as if the individual ingredients had just been sprinkled on as per order. Overall it was good better than most.
Shajan – BlackburnThis is very friendly & trendy bar only 2 mins walk from Bank street Rawtentall. There is a great selection of beers including draft Peroni & a selection of nice organic wines. The decor is cool and the ambience is perfect, there is also a great choice of delicious bar snacks too. The Comedy nights are the highlight with top class stand-up action from the countries best. Cheers guys and good luck - Dan & Gem.
Artisan Cafe Bar – RawtenstallGreat little place, tucked away in Bolton centre. The food is fantastic and great value. The place has a real authentic feel about it too. We had an excellent meal and will certainly be going back !
La Salsa – DarwenMy husband and I had the good fortune to visit Truffles for the 'Indian Gourmet Evening' on 28th March 2008. As long time and devoted customers of this restaurant it was hard to image that anything could surpass the usual excellenct standard of fare and service provided by James and his staff. My husband and I are great lovers of Indian spiced food, however, from the first, to the last course, we were given a taste of India that bears no relation to the usual meals served in traditional restaurants. The combination of subtle spices (the Sea Bass in Coconut & Coriander being a prime example), were a delight. We cannot fault the evening at all and, although we will be away on holiday for the French Gourmet evening we will certainly be booking for the Thai Goumet meal. If it in any way achieves the standard of the Indian experience we shall come away with a new respect for the cuisine of Thailand. Please try this restaurant. I can promise that you will not be disappointed. Yvonne & Tony G
