Fresco Fresco – Leyland****UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT**** Closing for refurbishments, to be re-opened MARCH 19th 2007
The Halfway House – ChorleyI've been meaning to write a review for this for a long time, but never found the time. This is a brilliant restaurant. The food is so fresh and creative and want you ask for more. I has duck for starters and pork for main course. DELICIOUS!!. I think most of the ingredients are locally produced. It is quite a novelle cuisine kind of restaurant, you only get small portions. But would definitely recommend this to anyone. The food is of very high standard. Its quite pricy, but why not! its worth every penny.
Northcote – BlackburnThis is definitely a take away food style restaurant. The sauces were too thick and there was lots of food colourings used in all most all sauces. But portions are large and will fill you up. Enjoyed the fried rice.
Hings – DarwenThis is a fantastic restaurant. We love Spain and love spanish food and this place was heaven. The Tapas menu if very extensive and there is a lot to choose from. They also have menu for cold and warm tapas. The food is delicious. The staff are so friendly, we even got a free shot of liquor!. I think they also have live music on some days. Love it.
Casa Tapas – RawtenstallExcellent food and wine. Very little waiting time. Only one criticism - the staff were smoking in between serving the food.
Casa Tapas – RawtenstallReally good food, an absolute gem of a place ...let? hope it stays that way for a long time. Excellent presentation and just the right amount not too little but not to over facing, delicious little chocolates with coffee. A truly nice place to eat and it is so easy to get to just seconds of the A6 and a couple of mins from M6.
Bay Horse Inn – LancasterHave eaten there twice now and each time have not been disappointed. French chefs cooking in real french style - very enjoyable with a pleasant atmosphere. House wine very reasonable and palatable. A good evening.
Quite Simply French – LancasterAbsolutely divine food at a price, but you do get superb quality and it is well worth it. Excellent wine list. Service does not do justice to the food and can be on the slow side.
Northcote – BlackburnMyself and my family recently enjoyed a fantastic meal at the Italian Orchard. We were astounded by the extent of the menu for wines and food. Fantastic choices! The quality of food, service and ambience was unbelievable and we will definitely be back again.
Italian Orchard – PrestonFirst time on sugarvine (recommended to me, I'm impressed, will return) and first time to the Red Pump Inn on a friends say-so. Don't expect scrubbed pine tables and contempory art, this place is a country inn and has a menu to match, lots of game (I had roast partridge which was excellent), very good choice of local steak and my wife had the belly pork and could not compliment it enough. Very good first visit. Warm (huge roaring fire a delight), clean and friendly. I was very impressed by the attitude the staff had with my son (Archie aged 9 years; thinks he's 16) particularly on a Friday night at 8.30pm. Often problematic when offered a children? menu, but must congratulate the Red Pump in a superb choice for younger folk. Archie had a medium-cooked rib-eye steaks and chips off the children? menu and ate without a murmur for almost half an hour....we were worried for a while but he seemed to come to when the deserts came. Lemon and lime cheesecake excellent, brioche bread and butter pudding excellent and gooey chocolate brownie had the same silencing effect on our son. We will definitely return. Very very good indeed.
The Red Pump Inn – ClitheroeExcellent quality food, beautifully cooked and presented. To Southerners like us, the relatively low price charged for this quality is surprising
Huntleys – PrestonWe've been several times now and always think the food is excellent and service very friendly. Can recommend the special theme nights - we went to a seafood special - wow!
The Sirloin Inn – PrestonWas recommended to try by friends who enjoyed the ice-cream, dropped in on the off-chance when passing luckily for us there was a space, the setting is excellent, modern, warm and comfortable. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, the food was just excellent, haven't had a really nice meal like this for a long, long time. Highly Recommended.
The Pudding House at Wallings Farm – LancasterI have eaten at The Greyhound on a number of occasions and can safely say it is the best pub food I have ever had! This is much more than you would expect to get in a pub and extremely good value for money. The menu is very varied and caters for everyone and nothing disappoints! (especially not the homemade fish and chips!) The service is fast and friendly and the pub has a great atmosphere.
The Greyhound – LancasterThe staff - in particular claire - were outstanding in their service - even the lovely lady - Mary I think - behind the bar could not be more helpful. Well done to all.
Mangiamo – DarwenThe Plough at Eaves is a lovely picturesque pub/ restaurant. The food was outstanding and although reasonably busy there was no delays on the food. Service was with a smile which always helps. Overall one of the better restaurants i have been to
Plough At Eaves – Prestonwow, this was a brilliant eatery- more than words can say...almost
