Moka – PrestonWas visiting from Canada and we had a wonderful evening. The food was excellent and well presented. The service was very good. We were well taken care of and also left alone to enjoy our evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any of my friends visiting this area of England. Cheers
Walled Garden Bistro – PrestonThe food and service at this restaurant is of very high quality. There are a number of waiters with a great knowledge, polite and a good smile. The setting and location is unbeatable for someone like me who lives locally and I would highly recommend this place to someone who likes Indian food. In my opinion the best in Lancashire.
Agra Indian Restaurant – BurnleyYou can always guarantee having a superb meal at the Honey Tree.
Honey Tree – MorecambeThe best ever restaurant I?e been to in 50 years. I love the staff and the food
Agra Indian Restaurant – BurnleyMy wife swears she has never had belly pork like that for years. Excellent meal and evening all round and every credit to this new young couple who absolutely made the place a super evening out. It was their first birthday from opening and our first time there for many years (after being recommendation by a friend who'd been there the saturday before)..It was busy but not to the point where you want to leave because you feel like a battery chicken. Now I know meat.... having been a farmer and butcher (of sorts) for almost 30 years and I had a steak, a ribeye and it was sublime, properly aged beef and cooked to perfection. Then we sat in the snug with the fire roaring and a large Brandy.... I truly did not want to leave (only that their accommodation was fully booked I would have stayed the night!). One criticism..... the portions were a little too big despite the obvious excellent quality of the produce used, which could put some off (my wife was a little overfaced with the belly pork but insisted on eating it all anyway!) We wish them all the best; they deserve every credit..... and I promise not to steal their dog as was hinted on the night! Best regards J. Myerscough;(no relation!).... the chap with the old Rolls and the wife who looks like Cybil Fawlty (she'll kill me for that!)
The Red Pump Inn – Clitheroewide selection of food and great service.
Hartleys Wine Bar – PrestonHad our first visit to the three Fishes this weekend& were really blown away. We knew it wasn't possible to book so arrived at midday & joined the crowd of a dozen or so stood outside waiting for the doors to open! What a lovely atmosphere & best of all Real, Local food! I loved the map on the menu indicating where all the meat, veg, cheeses & wine are sourced. A really good range for vegetarians too with no veggie lasagne or pasta bake in sight. The service was excellent - attentive but not over bearing & the food was delicious. The Christmas menu definitely is worth a look too.
The Three Fishes – ClitheroeHaving lived in Darwen for several years and been a regular customer of indian food it is a relief to finally have somewhere that knows how food is supposed to taste. Far superior to any other restaurant locally that I have tried.
Raj Mahal – DarwenGreat for lunch, well priced with generous portions. Also been in the evening. The menu is varied, with a great specials board. Better than the usual pub fare, and better than the establishment run by the same . hotel chain in another part of Chorley Tends to be busy, but service good. Has an outside seating area adjacent to the canal, wonderful when the weather is pleasant.
The Malthouse Farm – ChorleyI came here years ago and hated it. It took a lot of persuading to get me back. The place this time however was superb; a proper country inn. The new owners were hilarious and genuinely friendly. Food excellent and the guest bedrooms beautiful. I'll be back very soon. Very impressed. This is a hidden gem but not for long.
The Red Pump Inn – ClitheroeArrived on time seated quickly. Excellent food, although service was a little slow. Pizza was great!!!
Italian Orchard – PrestonMy wife and I eat at the carvery at the Calf's Head quite regularly and have always found the food to be great and the staff very, very friendly. There are so many options for eating here whether in the formal restaurant as we did for the carvery or in the conservatory for bar meals or even the garden when the weather is good. The owners have worked their socks off since they took over and their endeavours deserve to be recognised for making this the magnificent place it is today.
Calfs Head – ClitheroeA wide choice of menu and fairly priced. The portions were ample and local produce used which was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be booking again. Excellent wine by the glass over the bar - not usual pub rubbish. Well worth a visit, but book early!!
The Red Pump Inn – ClitheroeAgree with previous....we went very early on a busy Sat evening. We were seated just in time. Then it filled up! Very clean, modern and airy surroundings. Fantastic tasty starters. Poppadums, sheesh kebabs and meat samosas. I had chicken tikka jalfreezi (could have been slightly spicier) My partner had chicken madras which she says was just fine. Saag aloo, garlic naan and pilau rice as sides. Rice perhaps a bit over spiced (too much saffron I thought) but thats too picky on what was a perfect dining experience. Had to call our own taxi afterwards, not sure why but that meant a 15min wait in the lobby. I'd rather have it ordered and come whilst we were still in the bar afterwards. Anyway...such small points to complaint about. If you can get there midweek when I'd imagine its less busy then it'd be perfect. PS we took a doggy bag which was a perfect Sunday snack! ;-)
Shajan – BlackburnThe food is always excellent.
Mamma Mia – Burnleybetter than average but nothing special
Raj Mahal – DarwenThe food was absolutely amazing. The service was very friendly and efficient. If you havent been you need to go. The place is brilliant
