Place is great but unfortunately, we had to wash all our clothes after visiting. The problem is that the kitchen is open plan and all cooking smells permeate the restaurant.

Yew Tree Inn – ChorleyWe really enjoyed our meal at this brand new restaurant! The host Stefano looked after us very well. Good to see the place was so busy. Wish them well with this restaurant!
Mezzo Restaurant & Bar – PrestonSTAFF VERY POLITE AND WELL MANNERED, FOOD COOK EXCELLENT. NO COMPLAINTS WITH DRINKS AS WELL.
Old Mother Redcap Hotel – BlackburnFirst visit on 12/9/2012 for lunch whilst in Colne. Steak pie was excellent, my wife's burger, good, Thwaites Wainwright an excellent pint. At lunchtime the place was crowded, a bit noisy, very good value for the prices charged.
The Morris Dancers – ColneThe food was excellent and the restaurant itself was very nicely decorated. The setting of Waters Edge is stunning, just by the side of a lake, we had pre-dinner drinks outside and the views were wonderful, and so quiet.I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, great staff, incredible food in breathtaking surroundings.
Tiggis preston has been about for years and unfortunately the food is in a timewarp. The English palette has moved on from the anglicised food Italian restaurants served 20 years ago. The venue is pleasant enough and service was OK. A bugbear of mine is dirty sticky menus which should be very easy to resolve!
Tiggis Pizzeria – PrestonAttended a surprise party for my in-laws' Golden Wedding celebrations and it was a fabulous day out. If I'm honest, I didn't quite know what to expect but the boat was beautifully laid out with linen-clothed tables, a bar and waiting staff and the whole event went down very well. It's a very pleasant way to spend three hours, cruising down the canal enjoying a three-course meal (soup, roast beef and Yorkshires, apple pie) and watching the world go by. The marina also has a pub where you can retire to for a drink afterwards (or even stay the night). If you're looking for a meal with a difference then I would certainly consider the Romance.
Canal Boat Cruises – Romance Restaurant Boat – Prestonjust had a mixed kebab and the wife had a parmesan hotshot. they were both absolutley brilliant. highly recommended. well done to the chef and great value for money.
Papas Pizza – NelsonI will not be returning. Overpriced average food in a very noisy and stuffy atmosphere. Bar area too close to the dining tables making it impossible to have a conversation without resorting to shouting. On the plus side, the staff are effecient.
Tiggis on the A59 – BlackburnWe dropped in here today for our lunch and waited a good 20 mins for our food so we were thinking "it'll be worth the wait", as there were plenty of diners we were expecting great things - it arrived at our table and resembled a frozen food meal you could pick up from the local supermarket and the roast potatoes were a famous brand needless to say wont be going back there :(
Grey Mare Inn – BlackburnWent to this restaraunt last night ( Friday 31st August). the food was awesome, lovely soup and spag bol. My only complaint was that me and my wife were given a terrible table right next to a very loud group party. There were much nicer seats available but they plonked us down on a table that wasn't very romantic or private! Next time I go I will book a nice table! Food lovely though and the staff were polite (if not over friendly!)Ally
Papa Luigis – ChorleyExcellent service, with excellent food and a great menu. Best restaurant in Chorley.
Italian Cottage – ChorleyExcellent food at a good value. The dishes we would like to recommend are their King Prawns in Hot Hainan Island sauce, yellow ginger rice, beef in ginger.
Canton Chef of Milnthorpe – LancasterThis small understated veggie cafe is a breath of fresh air in blackburn, the comfy ambiance and very friendly staff made the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable. The food was delicious and the flavours were a symphony for the taste buds. My friend who is not a veggie thought that it was fresh and did not miss the meat at all! I would highly recommend this to anyone.P.s the cake was to die for!
Sprout cafe – Blackburnhad booking 25 august at 9pm it was cancellation for full lamb leg piece got served about 9.30 pm lamb was very cold and horrible taste did eat bit at first was bit warm frm top but the rest was very cold ,so left it didnt eat it told the guy at the counter when we paid our bill was £65 he only knocked £15 off just lamb piece is £50 not worth penny of it he shouldnt hav charged us for it he just said he will look into it also the customer service was crap ,i wont be going there never again and wont reccommend it to my friends or relatives what waste of money and petrol we travelled all the way from bradford should hav stayed in bradford as there are much better food places what shame .dont waste ur money guys!!!
Bukhara – PrestonI frequently eat in the evenings at the Field Fare in Chorley with friends and we are never disappointed.
The Field Fare – ChorleyWe thought we'd try Papa's before we committed a large family gathering to a bit of a celebration (15 year and 40 year anniversary party) - all seemed ok although I though the prices were a little steep. Upon getting my main I explained that I'd never ever received a pizza that didnt have a tomato sauce base. To my surprise there response was "look at the menu - thats what you ordered". Now dont get me wrong, upon reading it I realised it didnt say "Tomato" but really, I've never (ever) seen a pizza without a sauce base. Nevertheless, I can accept the situation and would have gladly paid for another pizza to be made up (it was literally inedible unless you're a cow who needs a salt lick daily!)... They didnt even make a suggestion - they simply said "Well, thats what it says on the menu."After the meal, as I was paying up I explained that I accept it was my fault for not reading the menu correctly (although I repeat, I've never had a pizza without a sauce base), I was again confronted by "Did you show 'him' the menu" and "Well sir, thats what it says on the menu".Not once did anyone ask "What can we do to help", or "How can we help". I even had to wait 5 minutes with my hand constantly waiving, before anyone actually noticed me wanting assistance during the meal..Surely the point of any meal is to have great food served perfectly and with the right attitude. We'd considered papa's as I though their service would be second to none, but in reality it's a factory with uncaring maitre de and staff and all in all, whilst i'm sure the food (if its what you expect) is fine, in my case I was severely let down by a serious case of bad customer care.As i've mentioned, I accept that it was my fault and never once suggested that it was a fault of theirs (though in my own mind Im still adamant that pizza's always have a sauce base), but the lack of consideration and considerable indifference to my plight means I have to say "buyer beware". Normally a phrase reserved for used car salesmen but in this case, buyer.... "Be Bloody Well Aware". If you buy poorly expect terrible after sales care.Sorry, not what I expect of a relatively expensive restaurant.......
Papa Luigis – ChorleyI have been a regular customer for a depressingly long time ( over 40 years ) and I am in tune with local feeling re the Fleece . It has been the social and community centre of Penwortham for over 400 years and any attempt to turn it into a " FOOD LED PUB " would destroy the essential character of the pub and ruin the hub of our community . I realise that the pub is shortly to be refurbished . In my opinion it is essential that it continues as a PUB FIRST and restaurant second . We already have more than enough restaurants in Penwortham but only one pub worthy of the name .
