Haighton Manor Country House Hotel – PrestonGreat atmosphere, great food, waiting area a bit cramped.
Mamma Mia – BurnleyMy wife and I and our four kids go to this great place at happy hour. We all eat and have a couple of drinks for around £35-£38.Excellent value. You can? beat it in Lancaster
Spaghetti House Restaurant – LancasterA lovely restaurant, although it got extremely hot as the evening progressed, it would benefit from air conditioning. Food was good but the drinks were pricey and I object to paying for water with the meal.
Nellie The Elephant – PrestonThis is a principally an Italian Takeaway and serves the most heavenly pizzas ever. Visiting friends?insist we make a trip there. The owners are very friendly particularly if you become a regular, and being able to see clearly the food being cooked in a busy kitchen leads to an atmosphere. Pasta and chicken dishes also great, but nothing will quite match the pizzas. Can get very busy so don't expect to walk in and out in 10 minutes on any day.
Papas of Longton – PrestonMy visit to Checcos started off bad it was a Saturday night and extremely busy we had to wait in the bar for quite some time but once you get sat down at your table and the waiter/waitress comes to take your order that? when the fun starts the staff are very polite and friendly. As soon as he/she goes in the kitchen within seconds later a beautiful garlic bread comes out to wet your appetite, then if you order a starter it is ready in a reasonable amount of time, the amount of food is not to much not to little, just the right amount. shortly after you have eaten your asked for any drinks this is good because its nice to have a cold drink to wash your food down, the starters range from a simple salad to a full on fritto misto which is a selection of fish in a nice crispy batter. Now moving on to the main course which the most important meal of the evening if you have pizza it's a traditional Italian base with fresh toppings. Or if you choose to have pasta or a stake you?e not going to be disappointed the sauces are spectacular and the stakes are cooked exactly to your liking. The vegetables that come with the stakes are lovely and fresh you can have as much as you want. The only disappointment is the table cloths they are very old and tattered they have numerous cigarette burns in them. And really let the standard down. The prices are just over average I suppose just enough to pay for the Porsche parked out side the front door. Don? let my opinion put you off you have to try it for self.
Checcos – BlackburnExcellent place to go, the service was great and the food was amazing (lots of it).
Casa Tapas – RawtenstallEXCELLENT
Francos – AccringtonConsistently excellent
Agra Indian Restaurant – BurnleyAn excellent venue for food and drinks, the staff look after your every need and nothing is too much trouble. Miss this restaurant out and you are missing out on quality food, quality service and excellent prices.
The Dog and Partridge – LongridgeGood for both families and a quiet meal for two
Frankie and Bennys – PrestonWe enjoyed a fantastic meal at Haighton Manor. The food was excellent and the service attentive and friendly. Even though we live down the road in Lytham we decided to make a night of it, lording it up in the 2 floor Fairfax suite. Even the breakfast was quality! Give it a go.
Haighton Manor Country House Hotel – PrestonOn the occasions that we have visited the Thyme restaurant we have always had outstanding food and service. There is a good selection of food available that is suitable for all types of people (my partner doesn't eat mammals). The food was beautifully presented and there was a good amount of it. The staff were polite and curteous and eager to please. The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and this adds to the enjoyment of the eating experience. I would recommend eating there to anyone.
The Sirloin Inn – PrestonChecco's is situated on the main road between Whalley and Great Hawrood. It is a well established restaurant with many regular diners. As you walk in the bar area is a little small and at busy times can become a little crowded. However, this helps create Checco's atmosphere. This is a small family run restaurant where the conversation and wine are just as important as the food. The starters offer the usual fare - pate, prawn cocktail as well as few surprises like deep fried brie or carpaccio of beef. The starter portions are just enough to wet your appetite and prepare you for the main course. The choice of main meals is what you'd expect from a trattoria - pizza, pasta, fish, steak and chicken. The fillet steak tornado rossini is a treat - tender fillet steak with a rich pate and red wine sauce. You wont need a dessert after this one! The specials board also offers a good selection and is updated regularly. Checco's caters for all groups - couples, families and parties but don't expect to book a table unless your party is over 10 people. This is a 1st come 1st served restaurant. On busy night there can be quite a wait so arrive ealy to get a table. My only disappointment is that the menu is not updated often enough - it would be nice to see something new once in a while. Overall, Checco's offers good food and wine in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Checcos – BlackburnGreat food, well presented, excellent service with attention to small details. Very impressed, great and simple yet very effective ambience, feels at home or somewhere far east yet still in Hoole! Worth the experience most definitley very DIFFERENT overall from others though little pricey...but a must try it, experience indeed.
Nellie The Elephant – PrestonGreat exotic ambience, friendly service, but most importantly, every time the food is at the very least good and often excellent. In fact, the mixed starter for two is superb. For me, easily the best Chinese restaurant in town.
Golden Dragon – LancasterJust like eating in your own cottage front room - very cosy and friendly, take your own wine/beer, glasses, cork screws provided.
The Cottage 1771 – PrestonA lovely place to go for a special occasion. Great atmosphere and delicious food. If you're strapped for cash, they do an 'early-birds' offer which greatly reduces the cost.
