Mitton Hall – ClitheroeWe have been 3 times now - our first 2 visits merited 'outstanding' all round, but we were very disappointed on our 3rd (and probably last) visit - not so much on the food, although we did feel this was slightly below par, but service was nowhere near as good as previous visits (we did wonder if this was because we were drinking only water - be warned, tap water is 50p per glass!)
Yu And You – BlackburnI was expecting big things from Thyme as the friends we were with have visited two or three times before and had always been very impressed. I have to say that I was very disappointed at both the level of service and the general quality of the evening. This was the first time I have ever been to a 'high quality' restaurant and been addressed by the waiter as 'guys'. I would also have expected an expensive bottle of red wine to be served in a red wine glass, not a tumbler borrowed from the pub downstairs. It is the little things that should be right that were not on our evening, including the cutlery that was so scratched it must have been used a thousand times before. We still hear good comments about Thyme and are going to visit again with the same friends in December, I only hope that we experience the Thyme that others return such glowing compliments about, not the one we visited back in June.
The Sirloin Inn – PrestonI asked for nachos and the "green" dip in the middle of the nachos was still frozen. I mean I did not know you could freeze salad. I complained, they scooped it off, put it in the microwave and gave me the same meal back. Now I just go in for coffee.
The Emporium – Clitheroei enjoyed the meal i had with my family and they even came round and took orders for deserts from the table for a lovely little place that was nice to see the service was amazing and they had a host to show you to a table very rare for a pub restaurant i will go back
Yarrow Bridge Inn – ChorleyAbbey village P&P. the service is disgraceful, if you complain, you get a jumped up little girl telling you go elsewhere, the staff are lazy and ignore you. EAT ELSEWERE!
Parmesan And Pepper – ChorleyNice food but the attitude of the lady behind the bar, who I took to be the manager was dreadful. She needs to go on a customer relations course, we will not be going back!
Smiths Arms – Prestona party of 10 we went on a Friday night,8pm,was very busy, but we had a great night ,staff was very busy but managed to be very helpful, meals were all very very good (chicken livers and steak and Stilton),great to see a open kitchen with a great head chef, overall fab night, I have booked for Xmas already
Alghero – ChorleyI Love Agra!!!! Wohooo
Agra Indian Restaurant – BurnleyMaybe we were unlucky then in terms of service as we were seated for 15 minutes before being handed a menu/offered a drink and then the starter arrived almost a full hour after initially sitting down. Couldn't fault the food though, it was beautiful!
Seasons – Chorleygreat staff, salt and pepper ribs, squid, chicken wings are best I've tried.
Ocean Palace – DarwenVisited here a few times and have been impressed each time. The evening meals are fantastic as are the lunchtime meals and ice cream. Plentiful portions and home made chips that have to be seen to be believed. The cost of the evening meals was approx. £40 for two people (2 courses and drinks) which I thought was outstanding for the quality of food.
The Pudding House at Wallings Farm – LancasterExcellent restaurant. They previously owned the Bamboo Gardens in Oswaldtwistle, and If I do say so myself this restaurant is better, cosier and the staff are always in your line of sight so, service is excellent. Fantastic WanTuns and Prawn toast and satay and salt and pepper shredded beef is superb. We have literally tried everything on the menu!! Never had a bad visit and the Fortune cookies are fresh! Haha ha no, really we have been to some restaurants and they taste of wallpaper paste (not that i've eaten it)
Jade Gardens – Accringtonfrom ordering to service took approx 10 mins the food when it arrived was excellent i would highly recommend dining here. i now have been there three times in the last two weeks and am still as pleased as the first time my and i went excellent *****
The Cross Keys – LancasterMy family have been going to Nino's 21 years. It's still the best Italian I have ever been to and offers unbelievably outstanding value for children even making dishes, without questioning, that don't even appear on the menu. Brilliant
Nino’s Rawtenstall – Rawtenstallalways excellent food and service. The decor is a bit dated and wouldn't go here for a romantic meal for 2 but for a curry on the way home after a few beers this is definitely the best curry house in Preston city centre
Spice Of Bengal – PrestonI visited this place on a Sunday evening, - Wasn't sure what to expect. When we got inside I was so impressed! The rural location, the design of the building the restaurant was situated, the architecture inside and out was beautiful! Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. Food was out of this world!!! Really competes with the big rollers situated in the city centre, very impressed! I live 40 mins away from this restaurant, but WILL be making a journey back ! Recommend to anyone wanting a quality dining experience that is child friendly too! It must be even better in the peak of summer with the glass extension at the front of the restaurant! Keep up the good work xx
Italian Orchard – PrestonFirst visit - on entering the bar/restaurant we were slightly put off by "the best man's speech" being piped through the speakers quite loudly - very nice if you are guests at the wedding but slightly uncomfortable if you aren't.. anyway after asking the manager to switch it off (5 mins later he did so) - we were shown to our table it seemed everyone dining that evening was placed albeit squeezed into one area of the restaurant - menu pretty mixed if slightly confusing for a country pub/bar restaurant - Chinese, Indian, french, British dishes which were ok definite room for improvement but we did go expecting traditional British food.. nice place and surroundings but we wont be rushing back - Aug 07
