Bread and Butter – PrestonFood was nice but a little bland. I ordered the special chicken sizzler and my daughter ordered the special steak and stilton pie. The chicken sizzler had a lot of oil and splattered and spit on the table, a little dangerous. It came with what seemed to be a pot of jarred mango chutney, 2 very small soft tortillas, raita and a pot of rice with fried crispy onions on top. Not much flavour on the chicken. Asked for chilli sauce and was given sweet chilli, also seemed from a bottle. The pie was very big with a massive amount of mash, pretty dry and looked thrown on the plate from a bowl. Hopefully not reheated. Stilton sauce was nice. Both meals were over £15 each. Churros were good. No affogato so I asked for an espresso and a ball of vanilla ice cream. I was given a very small bowl but I made it work. Had to ask for extra napkins and the table wasn't cleared often. Nice atmosphere and cosy vibe. Although I did ask Not to be seated near any smoking areas and we were in front of the front door where a few people stood smoking. Why people smoke in door ways in beyond me. Very selfish. Would go again but maybe just for an English dish something I wouldn't expect to need a lot of flavour, like fish and chips.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallCan't believe I've lived in Ormskirk all my life and this was the first time I've visited Quattros. Food and service was amazing. Ambience was lively without being rowdy. Absolutely loved it.
Quattro’s – OrmskirkUnfortunately not the usual service as experienced before. Drinks late, table not fully set. Meals delayed and then not all came together. Food quality not at usual level. Clearly under staffed as two staff waiting on only against usually 4-5. No apologies. If it had been our first time there we would not return. Hoping it was a one off!
Anatolia Grill – St HelensFood was delicious and the service was excellent.
Quattro’s – OrmskirkWe keep returning because it’s such a super restaurant with food and atmosphere
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleLeft disappointed After reading all the positive reviews we expected a lot. On arrival we were greeted by Ben who was very warm and welcoming, a good sign we thought. The place is lovely, set in a pretty courtyard. At £32 for a two course Sunday lunch you’d expect to leave full. Starters were nice, nothing special and then the beef mains arrived. I honestly thought as did my husband that they were going to bring out the sides separately - there wasn’t much on the plate. The beef was lovely but there were hardly any vegetables to be seen and two tiny roast potatoes. Gravy & Yorkshires lacked flavour and the whole thing needed seasoning. Price wise, had this of been around £26 for two courses we wouldn’t have felt so short changed. The toilets need updating desperately too. Over priced, under seasoned and sadly we won’t be returning.
Toms Table – ClitheroeSuperb location A delightful drive through beautiful countryside The menu choices are excellent and the food is so fresh and delicious We have been several times and will be back

Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleI had Sunday lunch at the Lunesdale Arms recently with my mum and my husband and we all really enjoyed our food! I had the pork roast dinner which was delicious and my husband particularly relished the duck leg with spinach and parmesan risotto. In addition the service was excellent and the atmosphere lively without being overwhelming or noisy. A very pleasant experience.
