The Shepherds Rest Inn – TodmordenWe drove up from Sutton Coldfield to see my cousin and the three of us had lunch on Friday, 19th April. We had not been there since it was refurbished and the whole place has been transformed, with a lovely view from a large window across the Valley. The food and friendly service was excellent. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallHi - regarding the meal at 5.15pm 19.04.24 We have just had a very pleasant meal at the Whitchaff which I have been going to for the last 50 years on and off. I had booked for 23 people but due to unfortunate circumstances only 22 could make it. When I entered the premises the first thing I did was to ask if I could have their deposit deducted for our bill. The person said she would have to ask a colleague who confirmed this was okay (a young lady with a Liverpudlian accent). However when I came to settling the final bill at the end the same lady ( with a Liverpudlian accent) said this was not possible and denied the conversation previously, accusing me of lying until I reminded her that she actually poured the half of moretti I ordered, then remembered the conversation and said their had been a misunderstanding. After this she sarcastically said that the only way I would get the £5 refunded was if she put it in herself. I said you cannot do that as it was not the £5 it was the attitude and principle. It finished with her appolosing to the next customers about me, which I take offence to. Bearing in mind that 15 months ago we had 19 there, but only 18 turned up and they just took the whole £95 off the bill. I organise lots of large group events and have contacts also who organise groups I will be sharing my experience with them. I am VERY disappointed in the attitude of that person which ruined a very good day and will not step in there again.
The Whitchaff Inn – RawtenstallBusy Friday but the staff coped well. Restaurant clean and tidy with all tables cleared. Special menu expanded the choice with appealing options, clams was a great surprise.

Verdes Restaurant – ChorleyWe had booked previously and were quickly shown to our table and drinks order was taken. Menus were quickly brought and we ordered from what is an extensive and flexible menu with specials available. Our food was excellent, well cooked and presented. Service too was very good and we fully enjoyed our time at Papa Luigi’s. Fully recommended.
Papa Luigis – ChorleyOnce again we had an excellent meal, the service was excellent and the overall visit was excellent. I must particularly highlight the waiting staff who were attentive. That's not to take anything away from the chef and his staff, we have come to expect the high quality of the food on each occasion that we have visited
