A superb old Methodist church venue and easy to book online (and to give extra details on the booking). Pay & Display at the rear of the building. Warm welcome from all the staff and our menus and drinks came quickly. No alcohol served due to the consecrated building but the bottle of Schloer was a good choice, especially cost. We also had a bottle of tap water on the table. The menu was extensive and it was difficult to choose from all the wonderful options. I stuck with Lamb Dansack with veggie pilau rice (1 portion will do 2 people easily!), there were 2 Chicken Tikka and I can't remember what my husband had but everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dish, all freshly cooked. Must mention that we had popadoms to start with, with chutneys, etc. there was one particular one, purple in colour, that we couldn't work out... it was the owner's signature chutney and it was delicious - not beetroot, as it looked, but sweet chilli. My son and husband thought it was hot but, for some reason, I didn’t at all. I couldn't get enough of it - I suggest bottling it!!! Everyone would buy a pot to take away with them, for sure! Nothing was too much trouble throughout the whole evening. It felt very special as we don't normally go out for a curry with my Mum. My only constructive suggestion would be to the 2 young waitresses. Relax! Enjoy yourself! It's easy for me to say, I know, but I did silver service waitressing at the Midland at your age, whilst at College. The more you relax and just treat us as everyday humans, the more your guests will relax and enjoy themselves, rather than feel apprehensive on your behalf. You are good at your jobs and you need to believe in yourselves. The warmth you'll get back from your guests will help you become as friendly and relaxed as the young waiter who took our order. Follow his example and you'll do well x At the end of the meal when we were actually bursting at our seams, they came over with a chocolate pudding with four spoons!!! As I'd mentioned on my booking that it was a special meal, they gave us this treat on the house xxxx It was my 55th Gotcha Day. My Mum adopted me 55 years ago so we celebrate it because I don't celebrate birthdays or Christmas as I’m one of Jehovah's Witnesses, so this was really, really special. My Mum and I polished it off and it was UTTERLY divine!!! Thank you for SUCH a lovely and memorable evening. We'll definitely come again.
