Nice lunch. Good service. Good value for money
The Lodge – LancasterBooked Sunday Lunch when staying in the local area and had noticed the previous two days that it was always busy no matter what time we went passed. Turned out it was for good reason: it's a lovely pub, the food was excellent but the service was superb. The owner (whose name I didn't get) was the perfect host and when my youngest daughter said jokingly that she'd like everything off the dessert menu, he only went and sorted it for her!
The Station Hotel – LancasterAmazing food., great service and lovely location.
The Waterwitch – LancasterExcellent menu, generous portions, great staff, and the best pub food I've had for a long time, highly recommended
The Waterwitch – LancasterSat outside in glorious sunshine enjoying an excellent lunch, reasonable priced, well cooked and served promptly. My only 'complaint' is that the portions were so large we had no room for dessert
The Lodge – LancasterUnwelcoming greeting, had to sit outside on a public footpath despite it not saying online the table would be outside, took 25 mins just for drinks. Food clearly frozen food but served well & easy eating. Waiter wasn’t polite or helpful. Won’t be going back
The Waterwitch – LancasterAbsolutely brilliant. Thanks very much to the staff who made our anniversary meal out the occasion it should be. Loved eating by the canal in the sun.

The Waterwitch – LancasterWe booked the pub for an evening meal as we were staying in the area for the first time. Staff were friendly and very welcoming and know how to serve a drink properly. My husband had a good cider and I tried a local gin (Trotters). We'd recommend both. The pub was clean and tidy and we were pleased to see the current health protocols were held in high regard. We liked the "station theme. " There was plenty of choice on the menu. My husband had a steak and complimented the chef especially as it was done exactly as he liked it. One of the best he'd had for a very long time. I chose the chicken kebab from the summer menu. Very tasty. We'd definitely come back to this pub, just a pity we weren't staying in the area for longer. Great hospitality, great food, great value for money.
The Station Hotel – LancasterMy friend and I ate there the evening of the cup final and although quiet the service was good as was the food. Mine host was constantly on the go clearing up and sanitising cheerfully I may add. The best part was when we asked for a wine list the young male server said he would be our wine list. Had all of the wines to memory. A very pleasant evening. If in the area we would go again but please book as it’s very popular.
The Waterwitch – LancasterExcellent service Friendly staff Good food Reasonable priced, not Uber inflated pub cuisine prices . Lovely pub.
The Waterwitch – LancasterThe service is great at the lodge but the food is even better. Good selection of drinks and a nice building with great outdoor area .
The Lodge – LancasterVery nice child free day yesterday and decided on the water witch for our lunch, easy to prebook and glad we did as it did get busy. Great set up with the one way system and hand sanitizer, staff very friendly and attentive. One strange thing was we were asked to pay before we’d eaten, which we’ve never had before, maybe as we were sat outside people have been leaving without paying? It wasn’t a problem but just seemed strange. Food really nice apart from onion rings which were very greasy, I did tell the waitress and expected this to be taken off our bill but it never was. Also we had ice cream for desert which we were expecting to come in cones but came in little cups, again not a problem but it didn’t say this on the ice cream board. Overall 4/5. Would visit again.
The Waterwitch – LancasterThe food was amazing, but the serve was poor. We went in as a group of 5, out of our orders 2 items were missed off the order. We advised the waiter of this, it took a further 20.mins to get the missed items replaced. We had to ask 3 times for the bill, which took around 1 hour to get the bill qnd pay. Wouldn't go back too busy and not enough staff!
The Waterwitch – LancasterWe really enjoyed our meal at The Lodge. The staff were really friendly, professional and attentive. The food was delicious and in my opinion was good value for money. The atmosphere too made it a really lovely experience.
The Lodge – LancasterWe visited the Lodge on Saturday July 9th. We have eaten there several times and found the food and serve good. On this occasion we order our meal and the starters came promptly as di the bottle of wine. The starters were very good. We then continued to sip our wine and after a long wait had to aske the waitress if they had forgotten our main course. She promptly went to the kitchen and told us the meal was on it way. It arrived and the steaks we had ordered were on the wrong plate. I had ordered mine medium and my partner had order his medium rare. We did not realize this until we had both added the sauce and cut into the meat. We also did not find the steak that tasty. My blue cheese sauce did not taste that strong. It seemed more like a cream sauce. We waited so long for the meal that we ended up ordering another bottle of wine!
The Lodge – LancasterLovely lunch in excellent location, very good service.
