Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterFirst ate at the sultan over twenty years ago, it had a very good reputation then and having recently moved back to the area it is still excellent. The dishes are well prepared and I've always found the staff very friendly and attentive. Always recommend it.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterGood food and ambience.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterThis was a Sunday afternoon offer pre theatre. The Staff in the resturaunt were good, very helpful, and had to help to overcome the complaints about the quality of the meals served. There were 2 tables occupied, and both tables (4 people) had problems with the quality of food served. The soup was ok. Both tables ordered beef (3 people) it arrived cold ,very fatty, with no green veg, the yorkshires were burnt to a crisp, On request, we were informed there was no Horseradish Sauce!! I had a very poor Risotto. cold ,stodgy. We were offered replacements, but we declined,as the first meals were so bad. if you wish to make a success of this resturaunt, you should employ a Chef who can cook. Our first experience in your resturaunt will be our last, and unless you can dramatically improve the quality of food served, your business wont last long
The Brasserie – LancasterWe visited the Mad Hunter in Lancaster on Valentines Day after hearing great things about the restaurant. On arrival we were shown to our table near to the bar, we were offered drinks and given the set special menu to choose from. For starters we chose the baked scallops and the exotic tatare, both came beautifully presented and were very tasty. For our main course we both ended up having Monkfish, prawns and mussels in a South African Savannah, again served beautifully, piping hot and tasty. For desert we opted for the Chocolate sharer.....................of which I didn't get much! (Not sure the other half understands the concept of sharing chocolate!) but what I did have was lovely. All in all a great visit. We will definitely return
The Mad Hunter – LancasterA great night in a loo very venue. Very attentive staff. Beautifully presented food and very tasty. The spicing, heat and flavour was exceptional Prices are excellent Peshwari Naan was to die for
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterAte here this weekend. The service was fantastic and the food equally so. Everything arrived piping hot and tasted great. Look forward to our next visit
Bombay Balti Restaurant – LancasterDear Dean( Restaurant Manager), My wife Janet and I thoroughly enjoyed the recent Burns Supper on Saturday, 25th January. It was a masterstroke having the piper playing various Scottish tunes up at the nearby Lancaster Castle. ( might be an option to have the lad playing 30-40 mins rather than a full hour). Being piped down into the Kings Arms Hotel was fantastic, food and drinks service, and met a lovely couple called Dudley and Brenda. The food and drinks all well received, although I could have a lot more haggis initially! It was a nice touch being offerd a cocktail, but unfortunately had to pass as I was running a fell race the following morning in Kendal! Perhaps a toast to the Haggis, and a short speech on the Immortal Memory of Rabbie Burns. Congratulations on the inaugural Burns Supper by the Kings Arms Hotel. Alan and Janet Wyllie
The Brasserie – LancasterThe staff were friendly and accommodating. The glassware was beautiful and the restaurant is clean and well decorated. Their menu was misspelled in several places and the maple parsnips were so underdone no one could eat them. When we told the waitress the chef fobbed her off with a frankly ridiculous explanation and they were triple cooked and the maple syrup made them hard. There’s a big difference between cooked crispy hard and solid raw in the middle hard. The place was empty apart from one other quiet customer and the waitresses were absent for large amounts of time, our meals were practically gone before we managed to tell anyone about our uneaten parsnips. Still, we had a good evening all the same.
The Brasserie – LancasterI’m quite convinced employees at sultans are writing fake reviews! From the names to the similar language it’s hilarious- especially considering the reality of sultans restaurant. The food was good- very good at a push. But the service has been horrendous two of the three times I’ve been there- once I can excuse but twice a year apart indicates that this restaurant needs to take a look at its mamangement. On both occasions I saw people walk out due to their orders not being taken (45 minutes for the one this year). We had to wait 15 minutes for a table despite booking days in advance, had to remind the waitress of each drink sepearatly, she brought them over one at a time and forgot to give us our rice, and two of us didn’t get plates and had to wait 10 minutes for them. I felt horrendous for the staff as on both occasions it has been fairly busy and they are obviously ill trained, and there is only 2 of them to bus tables, take orders and serve food- totally a management issue! No one even apologised to us for all the hassle. The first time I went there, was however very lovely- I should hope so as we were the only diners in the restaurant that time!
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterMy wife and me recently had tapas at the crypt, firstly the staff were very pleasant. We ordered 4 tapas and a bottle of wine, when they arrived the portions were small and cold. They did change them for hot food but to be charged £5 for 2 mushrooms cut In to quarters is very steep. I was also charged £22 pound for a £16 pound bottle which they change on the bill once there mistake was brought to there attention. We were given a voucher for a discounted cocktail
The Crypt @ The Royal Kings Arms Hotel – LancasterRestaurant was beautiful and atmosphere was lovely. A bit disappointed by the food. Crab risotto very salty, and banana blossom vegan fish was just battered tofu - not how it was described on the menu. Service was good but food could've been a lot better.
The Brasserie – LancasterA party of 7 of us had Sunday lunch on the 12th January we all opted for Roast beef (one gluten free) We all thought the place was comfortable beautifully decorated the staff very attentive the food was very good If there was a downside the live music in the brasserie where we ate was conversation stifling as it was a little too loud but very pleasant music We moved after the lunch into the bar where we could chat more comfortable
The Brasserie – LancasterThe occasional food that we had over the Christmas and New year period was generally good and enjoyable, the new year's eve dinner that had been pre ordered ie roast cod, with braised baby gem lettuce, boulongere potatoes, braised leeks and lemon butter was accompanied by mashed potatoes , broccoli and carrots, still good but not as expected.
The Brasserie – LancasterWe visited the Fenwick after hearing great reviews from friends over the last few months. I have to say that they were right, every dish that was served arrived perfectly plated and piping hot and each mouthful delicious. We will definitely be returning for another visit.
The Fenwick Arms – LancasterExcellent food and fantastic staff. It was a large table of 24 and they got every order right, even with special requirements. It took 20 minutes to get everyone's food out which was frustrating but other than that it was brilliant. Highly recommend.
The Brasserie – LancasterGreat meal staff brilliant would recommend eating there only thing to remember the do not serve alcohol but for me and my friends it was not an issue as everything else was brilliant
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterLovely afternoon spent at Brasserie. We had the festive afternoon tea which consisted of delicious sandwiches and scrumptious cakes. The star of the show for me was the Mine Mines, little Christmas cake bites. Service was good, checking to make sure everything was ok with the food and we had everything we needed. Would recommend to others.
